Wonderful experience I was having a emergency and they took me right away and treated me. Everybody was pleasant.

My daughter had an urgent need to see her eye doctor, so I called over at 5:30pm. They were still working, but the doctors had left so we were scheduled first thing the next morning. I was impressed by how fast they could get her in. The inside and outside of the office was all decorated for Christmas which helped my 4yo feel less nervous. They were very gentle with her and gave good and thorough care. Dr. McGeorge was the attending doctor and did will with her. My 4 year old daughter left feeling confident that eye doctors were nice people and I left confident with a treatment plan. I've gone here all my life, and they are always great. read more

called this eye place just to make an appointment--something that should take all of two minutes--and was met with one of the rudest attitudes I've experienced in a long time. The woman who answered the phone spoke to me like I was stupid for asking basic questions and had an incredibly condescending tone the entire call. If this is how they treat potential new patients before you even walk through the door, I can't imagine how they treat you once they already have your money. Customer service matters, especially in healthcare. I ended the call feeling annoyed and disrespected and will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Pablo is unreliable and does not get back you in a timely fashion as he promises to do and Swears he didn't get your previous messages when you call In asking for him all day! I been here twice now. Once for my appointment to get new glasses and sun glasses. The person who helped me with my glasses and sun glasses so was nice, laid back, felt like I was shopping for glasses with a friend I even asked her how they looked on me. Second time I went here was cause I had Bell's palsy and had to get my eye checked and they saw me super quick cause of the issue which I appreciated and got me all taken care of read more

Time for an update, since it's been 8 years since my last review, so I guess I've been going there for over 10 years and my husband goes there too. I'm adding a star because I don't think it's right to trash them for Covid related stuff as some have done here. Some of the staff are just wonderful (Rex springs to mind) and we've never had a bad experience except when an outside Dr. who comes here to do eye surgeries used anaesthetic that didn't work on me and the experience I had with that was dreadful, but I don't feel it was the fault of Sierra. read more

I've been coming here for 3 years now. The first two years went very smoothly, just like you would expect any respectable eye doctors office to be. Only recently, and due to the covid scare, my experience was a far cry from those early years. This has been playing out since just after businesses started shuttering their doors because of the covid19 issue. They were able to get me in to see a doctor for a new contact prescription, and I was very happy for that. They weren't able to book an appointment with my usual doctor, but I was okay with that. I was assigned to doctor Fronk. He did all the conventional tests, and was able to get me a prescription. Trouble was they didn't have my required prescription in stock. "No big deal, I'll wait a week for it to come in". In the mean time I was able to get by on a sample pack of contacts that were close to my prescription. So I waited, and like expected they called me in about a weeks time. My contacts had come in but doctor Fronk wasn't available for an appointment because he was away for the month. I told them I was fine with seeing anybody, so they gave me an appointment with Doctor Womack. I thought to myself, "they all have the same training, and after all, we're just checking the fitment of my new contacts." So I went in to see Dr. Womack, who was a very nice gentleman by the way. When he pulled up my prescription on their computer, he looked very puzzled. And he sort of said to himself, "what did dr Fronk do here?" The next thing I know, we're doing all the conventional optometry tests once again. I didn't care much I just wanted my contacts so I could see again. If this is what it takes, that's fine by me. So I end up getting a new prescription, and just like my previous visit, I get sent away with a new sample pack of contacts to use until my new prescription comes in. My new prescription contacts arrived and they called me to set up an appointment. Doctor Womack wasn't available, so like before, I told them I'd see any doctor. They appointed me to Doctor McGeorge. The assistant had me put in the new prescription contacts and wait for the doctor. When she came she gave me another eye test, and wasn't satisfied with the results. So we went back and did all the conventional testing as the previous two visits. She was much more thorough than dr. Womack and dr. Fronk. We did some other tests that hadn't been performed in my previous visits. She even did some research on the computer trying to find me a good prescription daily contact. I was happy with her effort and pleased that I was finally going to get the correct prescription. Once again they had to order my prescription. Trouble for me is this time they never called me back. When I called in they had no idea where my prescription was. The staff and optometrists are all very friendly, but after getting 3 different prescriptions I'm left feeling uneasy about going back. I'm now going to an eye doctor in Sacramento. read more

Months later and still no response of any kind from management of this office. Unacceptable in my opinion. I see another post with a similar issue with Pablo specifically. It wasn't just me. I am not making this up. Horrible customer service. At this point to not hear anything from management is also very disappointing. SHAME! Do unto others as you ..... Exceptional service. I have "eye turn" and family history of cataracts. They took some really cool pics of the inside of my eyes and explained everything to me. They handled my kids too! My kids get nervous at doctors' offices but the staff put them right at ease and were incredibly patient, and genuinely nice. As long as we're in Amador County, I'm only going here for my family's eye care. read more

This is the finest Optometry office with two locations, Valley Springs and Jackson. The office staff is very friendly, professional, and respectful. Minimal wait time. Always greeted with a smile. They treat you like "family"! ALL THE STAFF SEEMS TO LOVE THEIR JOBS! This office is run very professionally and efficiently. State of the art equipment is available and all of ones optical needs are available at one place. Dr. Gibson is very friendly, professional, courteous, respectful and knowledgeable! His bedside manners are impeccable! He explains everything he is doing during his very thorough eye exam. He doesn't hesitate to refer you to a specialist should the need arise. If you have an urgent or emergent eye problem, Dr. Gibson goes out of his way to make sure you are taken care of most expeditiously! What a blessing to our community! read more

Went here today as a new patient as I haven't had my eyes checked in years...eek. Had a very positive experience from front to back office! Was greeted up front promptly, handed my new patient paperwork and taken back several minutes later by the assistant who was professional and kind. Had all kinds of tests on my eyes done that I didn't even know existed! Also had the option of having a optical mapping scan done so I could avoid getting my eyes dilated since I was headed back to work. Saw Dr Womak who was extremely kind, patient and knowledgable. I would highly recommend this business to anyone looking for a good eye doctor! read more

Dr. Vanbuskirk is wonderful. Very knowledgeable, patient with all my questions, and after years of seeing other ophthalmologists with no diagnoses, he told me why my vision is cloudy. He also gave me a contact lens that fit my post-glaucoma surgery eye perfectly. And the receptionist told me why I had so much trouble with the Jackson Surgery Center billing my secondary insurance. I went here for the first time and saw Richard Van Buskirk. First off I was late the ladies at the front were very nice and didn't seem annoyed like some do when you stroll in late. It was a little confusing to get there, but I am bad at directions so I went to the wrong building. I wish I got the lady's name who did most of the tests because she was very nice, but I was so overwhelmed with all the tests I forgot or maybe didn't get her name. She had me go thru a bunch of tests that I never even knew you were suppose to do at the eye doctor. The last optometrist I saw they were not very friendly. My other doctor seemed annoyed that I wanted to try a couple different contacts and I wasn't happy with them because they weren't as clear as I thought they should be. When I told Doctor Van Buskirk I wanted contacts, but didn't like my last ones he let me try a sample and immediately they were as clear as my glasses (actually better with the new prescription). He was very polite and went about getting me a new prescription for my glasses and told me if I liked the contacts I could call and order them when I wanted. I usually order glasses online because it's cheaper and usually need the prescription and they didn't even ask just handed it over for me. While in the past at my other eye doctors it was a hassle because I wasn't purchasing their glasses. So all in all I had a great experience and I can see great with my new contacts. I would recommend this place to anyone, very nice friendly people that do their job very well and are very nice and caring people. Thank you!! read more
