Someone named Amanda responded to my review. I guess they're seeing the horrible reviews and are getting nervous so someone is finally replying. Haha. All you guys have to do is go for yourself to see what kind of customer service you receive. Even the doctor flat out lied to me and said I said things I never said. According to her, their surveillance camera also has audio But, somehow she still managed to put words in my mouth that I never said. But completely ignored the fact that I was denied a simple explanation or phone number to Tom Ford. Flat out denied with zero explanation. I've honestly never experienced anything like it. I was in urgent need of contacts, which are medically necessary, and went to Visually Sound. They tested my eyes and reassured me my contacts would arrive in about 3 business days. When my wife went to pick them up, they handed her one single pair of bi-weekly contacts. That's a two weeks worth of contacts when I qualify for a fully covered year supply. The contacts were the wrong power, didn't fit the shape of my eye and the moment I put them in, it was like I was looking through a layer of fog or smoke. I bought eye drops to put in that ended up clearing the fog temporarily (about 5 min) to see if possibly my eyes, or the contacts, needed to adjust. Since then, I have called Visually Sound at the Palladio in Folsom 4 times and spoke with the same receptionship who cuts me off when I'm speaking, isn't listening when I do manage to get a word in, and acts like it's the first time she's ever heard my story. Each time she tells me the doctor is busy but will call me before the end of the day. Tomorrow will be my 5th in 5 days and I have not received a call, email, text, smoke signal, or messenger pigeon. Meanwhile, my bi-weekly contacts have become so degraded that the left one just tore in half while it was in my eye. Again, I have medically necessary contacts and can not function without them...and I have none at the moment. Therefore, I am unable to perform the functions of my job as a first responder and the four other places I've called do not have openings until early next week. I have expressed this to the receptionist and still no call. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AGAINST VISUALLY SOUND OPTOMETRY read more

I love this place. I've been going here for a while even when it was under different ownership a while back. The transition was smooth and the staff is wonderful. They have a pretty great selection of frames compared to other offices. I was also very happy with the care given to my husband after he had an accident that impacted his vision. I even took my baby here for her first visit when she was about a year old and the optometrist did such a great job with her. She was fascinated by everything and didn't even cry once. read more

Second visit. I was just about to lay down big $$$ for some glasses. While I waited for the person to look up my prescription I shared some small talk about my last pair I purchased there. I was going to return them but decided I really liked them. She responded with an unfriendly tone: "no, sorry, we don't accept returns...under no circumstances" this went on two more times about other things she doesn't like as if she were scolding me as a child. Top notch! Beautiful office conveniently located. The entire staff were great with our five year old son. He had been apprehensive, but was put at ease immediately and got a prize from the toy chest when he was done! Now he wants to be an optometrist when he grows up. What a turn around. Our whole family got eye exams and we were happy to learn that my troubled night vision could be corrected with new anti reflective lenses and my husbands stigmatism was causing his headaches at work. How refreshing it was to have a doctor who takes the time to listen and really care for her patients! Our whole family is extremely pleased with Visually Sound. Would highly reccomend! They took over for Dr Stacy who retired a few years back. Good service and the nee doctor is very nice. The prices are very expensive tho. I just wanted new lenses, had my own frames and decent insurance with VSP, cost was $210! Took my Rx to Costco for new lenses in my sunglasses $80. I will get my eye exam here, but cannot afford their frames or lenses. read more

I used to love this place when it was Dr. Stacy's because of the huge selection of frames he had and reasonable prices. Now that the practice has been taken over, I find the frames to still be gorgeous but way too pricey. Even the frames covered by my insurance that I liked weren't covered in full because of their high mark up, whereas underneath Dr. Stacy's they were. On the plus side, the customer service has improved greatly underneath this new ownership. You can freely look at frames without being followed around like you're going to take something (something which was very common and annoying when Dr. Stacy's was still around.) I like that you can browse frames without feeling pressured, as it makes your shopping experience more enjoyable. The gals working there are very nice, too. My husband had an eye exam here recently and was pleased. A thorough eye exam was completed. We've also both purchased glasses from Visually Sound Optometry and have had no complaints so far. read more

Incredible experience! She walked me through what to expect when I asked about whether I need eye surgery. I can't say enough about the how positive this experience was. I needed to find a place to bring our three year old to and after seeing Yelp reviews decided to try them out. The doctor is fantastic and did an amazing job with our three year old. My husband and I weren't really sure what to even expect. The doctor went above and beyond our expectations. Highly recommend if you need a little one evaluated. The only reason I took one star off is because of the experience before seeing the doctor. It was a bit of a mess and didn't really feel like they were prepared for a 3 year old. In fact my husband almost walked out completely. He's thankful he stayed because the doctor really made up for it. read more

Worst Experience in customer service since I can remember. 1. Took glasses that I received from this business(which had a broken frame) to inquire about options. All they said is that there was nothing they could do and that I didn't get them there. Well that's wrong. I called back later and they said they would have to have the glasses to make an assessment (Hello, I already brought them in for that set purpose) and so they could call for replacement parts. 2. Brought them in again. Said there was nothing they could do. Said they didn't carry those frames. Looked at new frames. took a quote in the 300 ball park for similar frames. 3. I asked for my prescription. They gave it to me. From their system and told me that the doctor was outside and that I had brought the prescription in to them (last May). Flat wrong! I made an appointment and saw the doctor AT Visually Sound last May. 4. When it was obvious that I was fed up and would go elsewhere she said, "well maybe we can send them for repair". UNBELIEVABLE and absolutely not. I liked this place and have been a return customer for almost 10 years, recommending others when opportunity arose. Never again. RIP. read more

Since being taken over, one of the new women who works there has been incredibly rude. Had an awful attitude when asked about whether or not they could order a small piece and pretty much made it seems like it was the greatest inconvenience. She obviously didn't want to do anything, even make a small repair. She said they didn't do that. read more

In August, because of proximity, I booked an appointment for an annual eye exam at this place. The folks were pleasant and I have no complaints about their attitude. I got a new prescription based on the exam. And while their selection of frames wasn't great, it was fine and I got a new pair of glasses. My problem began about a week after I got my glasses back. They gave me headaches, and while this can be normal when adjusting to new glasses it persisted and the fact is the prescription was bad--my previous one worked just fine and so I simply stopped using the new glasses because they didn't work correctly even though I exhausted my annual benefits. Frankly, I just went back to using my old glasses and I did wait months because I didn't have time to deal with it because of a hectic work schedule--I own that part. During the holidays, I put on the new pair and when the headache came back I made the time to call and ask if I could please get my px adjusted so that I could use the new glasses that cost a lost of $$$. I was told that I'd have to pay a "refracting" fee of $50. $50 isn't the end of the world necessarily, but my gripe is that I got bad px, have basically useless glasses and am being asked to pay an additional $50 to get them fixed. I will pay the $50 to get them fixed, but not to this doctor. I've never had a bad px made so I question the optometric acumen of this doctor. I also think that from a customer service perspective, they made another bad call. There are other choices out there worth exploring. read more
