Dr. Patel was very transparent and took the time to address my concerns about night driving, which honestly put me at ease. I came in knowing what I wanted, and she checked every box. The exam itself was smooth and straightforward, and then I got to do my favorite part, shop, lol. I believe her name was Millie, and she was incredibly kind. I never felt rushed or pressured while picking out frames, and no one tried to upsell me on anything I didn't want. I hadn't been to this eye doctor since my last good vision plan in 2012. They are by all counts the best in this industry within a 30 mile radius and possibly the state! The owner and primary doctor is a woman so that already makes me want to support them. Calling them was so easy, professional, and calming during this scary COVID-19 pandemic. They assured me they all wear masks, wipe down areas after each use, and check people's temperature upon arrival. They did all that and more when I arrived. If you have a need for glasses, contacts, or just want a check-up, know you are getting the best in the business. My past eye doctors were never so thorough like Dr. Wademan. Her staff are thoroughly trained unlike some retailers with pseudo eye professionals claim. They updated all their equipment and it is like brand new state of the art eye doctor tools. They replaced the awful gust of air blown in your face with a new piece of tech that does the same thing but much less evasive. They also are generous with their samples! In addition, I had symptoms during an eye exam that are deemed an emergency in some cases and wasn't even offered any treatment or referral to an Optamologist. First time patient at Bidwell Optometry. Easy to make appointment, and accepts my insurance. Arrived a bit early and had to complete forms as I waited. I am called back by the tech or whatever her correct title is, who performs all the test. I'm wondering, what is the doctor going to do? Test completed without issue and the tech is well trained, friendly and professional. Great job. Go into another room and wait for doctor. Doctor arrives and is also ver friendly and professional. I go through several more vision test. All test compleated and we discuss any issues and changes to my eyes. Again, the doctor was professional and very competent. All good. First two steps down and each deserving of 5 stars. Back to the waiting room and its time to look at frames and find a new pair of glasses. I ask about a certain brand and they don't carry them. Look around at the displays, which seems to be very limited compared to my last optometrist office. Ask about another type but they only have a very large pair but of course they could order smaller pair. I decided to take my Rx with me and purchase elsewhere. Overall 4.5 stars due to the lack of selection in eye wear. I understand and could see they were limited to a smaller display area due to the size of the office. Recommend based on overall service and speed. If you are picky about your eye wear and don't want to go to another place to find what you like, then you might want to find an optometrist office with a greater selection on hand. read more

When I had a problem with one of my eyes several years ago, they made themselves available immediately, explained what has happening and referred me to a competent specialist. Dr. Wademan and her staff are awesome. After not seeing an eye doctor for over two years, I decided it was time, and this time I used Sightbox. They made the appointment here and I'm glad they did. Dr. Wademan answered all my questions I had regarding trying a new brand of contacts and when that brand didn't work, she was quick to update my prescription to my previous brand that worked better. Please confirm your appointments before coming here especially if you are a new patient ! My daughter was a new patient to the practice . She was having eye pain for a couple weeks and I decided to get her an appointment. The person who scheduled the appointment gave me the soonest appointment they had . I went in for her appointment and was told she was not going to be seen at her appointment time because the front desk put in the wrong date for her appointment. They asked me to come back later on during the day , unfortunately they could not accommodate. I took the morning off from work and hired a babysitter to watch my two small children. I am so disappointed. I asked to speak with a manager and was told she was unavailable until later that week . I do feel that a patient's time is just as valuable. After explaining my situation, they would still not see my daughter even though we had an appointment. If someone comes to see you with an appointment and you send them away because the office made a mistake , that is just WRONG. read more

I am only giving 2 stars not for the business itself but the lack of communication between eye doctors. The office staff is great. The two optometrists I saw gave me polar opposite eye exams. One Dr stated my right eye went from a 3.25 down to to 2.50 - which I have no clue as to how that would have happened. When I went back in less than 2 months because the -tri focal contact lenses were a problem, the 2nd Dr stated my right eye was 3.50. Both DRs gave me contacts and both recommended contacts that didn't help my vision. I have to say - the correct contact for my right eye was recommended by one of their amazing office staff at 3.50. I just moved to the area I recently had an exam here at Bidwell Optometry and the staff was very welcoming upon my arrival. The front desk lady had me fill out new patient papers and she made small talk with me while I wrote everything down. I appreciated that instead of it being quiet and awkward. When I was finished I did the pretesting and then saw the Dr. She looks very young but she is very knowledgeable.I felt that I definitely was given the right prescription. I have a high prescription and needed contacts as soon as possible since my glasses broke (my crazy dog decided it was his new chew toy) and she gave me contacts to take home until my boxed ones came in! That was such a relief and very kind of them. I plan on coming back to purchase glasses sometime soon when I save up but I asked anyways if they have any deals. Dr introduced me to the optician and she told me about the packages they offer for people without insurance or who want to pay out of pocket. I was given a quote and left all within 1 hour. The office was clean but it did have an older feel to it. I did some research before and it was Dr. Jonas practice first and now he is retiring and Dr. Wademan is now the owner. I asked the ladies at front if Dr will hire another doctor to work here too and they said maybe but they are going to be renovating the office and upgrading it to a more "modern feel". Not a good place. I received way better service at Costco. First, they reassured me over the phone that all I have to pay is a co-pay. After I received my exam all fees increased. They requested me to buy lenses from them otherwise I had to pay extra 60$. It took me 2 trips to a doctor (with my recent exam for my glasses) for them to figure it out. Never again! read more

I went to Bidwell Optometry a couple few times for routine eye exams. Each time the doctors were VERY LATE like at least 30 to 45 minutes late for the appointment. When I asked about how much longer or commented on how late the appointment started after the scheduled time, I experienced a response and attitude that indicated they didn't give a damn or could care less how much time I had to sit waiting in the waiting room. It felt very rude and disrespectful that they indicate they do not have any concern about how late they run and never expressed the least bit of concern or care about seeing their patients any time near the scheduled time. If they even showed a little bit of care or concern that their appointments are so late it wouldn't be so bad. The complete lack of concern did not make me feel that they value their clients at all. I have no intention of ever returning there and I plan to find a different Optometry office for future eye exams. read more
