A Hidden Gem with Outstanding Customer Service My family and I have been coming here every summer for over five years, and it has become one of our favorite places to visit. My son absolutely loves it here, and we always look forward to making new memories together. This is truly a wonderful place for families and a place we happily return to year after year. The location is absolutely breathtaking. The peaceful river flowing behind the property creates a relaxing atmosphere that is hard to find anywhere else. Whether you're enjoying your morning coffee, taking an evening stroll, or simply sitting by the river listening to the sound of the water, it is the perfect place to unwind. The grounds are beautifully maintained, exceptionally clean, and very well organized. You can tell the staff takes great pride in keeping the property welcoming and enjoyable for every guest. What makes this place even more special is the incredible staff. Oscar, Carlos, and Chris are truly the heart of this property. They are always friendly, professional, respectful, and incredibly hardworking. Every visit, they greet guests with a smile and go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. Their dedication and genuine care for guests are what set this place apart. It is disappointing to read some of the negative reviews because they simply do not reflect the experience my family and I have had over the years. I have personally witnessed these employees remain calm, patient, and professional, even during busy check-in times and challenging situations. They consistently treat guests with kindness and respect while doing everything they can to provide excellent service. As a loyal guest for more than five years, I can honestly say this is one of my favorite places to stay. The beautiful riverside setting, the peaceful atmosphere, the clean and well-maintained property, and the exceptional customer service make this place feel like a home away from home. Oscar, Carlos, and Chris deserve to be recognized for their outstanding work. Employees like them are the reason guests return year after year. Their professionalism, integrity, kindness, and commitment to excellent customer service are a true reflection of what hospitality should be. Thank you for making every visit so special. My family and I look forward to returning for many more summers to come.

Beautiful place for family is excelent I came from the city and I reallly enjoyed relaxing with the sound of the river.

Walk down the steps past the bonfire pit and you have access to a beautiful stream

After a rough night of driving, we stopped here very last minute. They woke up and got us a room and super appreciative of that! The room was very clean and the bathroom was a pleasant surprise with its updated finishings. The bed was super comfy but the real winner was walking over to this stream. It's so peaceful and relaxing, it actually makes me want to come out here on purpose!

Filled up last night. We were one of two cars upon arrival.

Well had I known that the rate I'd purchased was not only the weekend rate but also a holiday level, I'm pretty sure I'd still be pretty impressed by this place. It is immediately off of the highway which you'd think would make it noisy. It can be if you leave the door open and listen for traffic. OR you can head to the other side of the building and visit the river! We'd seen some folks sitting down on the shore so we moseyed on down to the water with the dog. Kinda crazy what happened next: the workers brought chairs down to us. So we sat in the shallow part of the river with our feet in the water. Not 25 feet away was an enormous rock which kids were jumping from down to the water. It was deep enough (obviously) and the current wasn't too strong. Dog loved watching this happen so I grabbed a few beverages and hung out for a bit. INDOORS WAS GREAT. Nothing too fancy, but nothing silly either. Wood (laminate?) flooring and a stand-alone A/C unit. Didn't feel bougie and kept me from cooking. We were in an upstairs unit and that was lovely. Granted, we paid a little extra to have our dog stay with us but it was worth it. Dog paced so I took her outside to relieve herself. The outdoor area had a doggy poo bag setup with garbage. We had a view of the back patio/swim area so the white noise of the river was there if you left the windows open. I think all of the units did. Everything worked out great. Made a reservation through Expedia a while ago and they sold out. Rates were also high for the holiday pricing. Never stopped here before this. Might need to stop more often in the future.

Wonderful hotel on the American River. Great location with lounge chairs on the bank of the river. Clean rooms, nicely appointed. Owners have done a great job updating the hotel. Would definitely stay here again and again.

Absolutely stunning views from room 21!!

Awesome stay, the place was clean and the staff were very friendly. Definitely will stay here again

Such a cute, little inn. Rooms have everything you need and quiet and comfortable. Friendly staff. Beautiful river right by the inn

Omg we had the best weekend getaway here!!! The river was so peaceful you could climb out on the rocks and just sit and enjoy or hang out on the chairs they have alongside the shore. They even have a swimming hole spot but way too cold for me now but there was a cold plunger getting in everyday. We met the owner Craig and he was awesome and manager Chris and staff very helpful. They are doing tons of work remodeling and have big plans for the place construction stopped around 4-5pm and nothing on the weekends so worked out perfect. Room was clean and they offered us wine and beer when we arrived. Later I met Jay and Diane and they were cooking and invited us to eat dinner with them and the staff. We accepted and it was awesome, great food and conversation. Chris the manager has lived up here for many years so he was full of information and turns out my fiancé and him worked at the same company many years ago, so they reminisced, Small world! Anyhow very reasonable rates, great service, clean comfortable place to stay with the beauty of the river and some solitude. Great place to come to get away, we were lucky to be invited to dinner but I'm sure that's not the norm so plan ahead there's not much nearby so pick something up on the way. I did a little gold panning and I heard that the fishing was great out back too (Craig had offered us poles earlier) I saw a few guys from across the river fishing while I was panning. Can't wait to see what they do to the place, so far it's great. Thanks again for the wonderful hospitality!

We were very pleased with our stay at Sierra Inn. The rooms were newly upgraded and they were impeccably clean. The river is right there, and it was nireally relaxing to just sit by the river and have wine with our family, which BTW the wine was supplied by Sierra Inn. They also had bonus breakfast muffins and were super generoud with bottled water and anything else we could ask for. This is a high service, quality place for a great price. We skied Sierra at Tahoe and were happy with the mountain (much less crowded as the big resorts with plenty of slopes for even us kinda-block-diamond-skiers). And Moon's is only a mile away and you can't beat the friendly food there. We will be back!

The river looks lovely from the motel

Thank you Sierra Inn!!! We had a beautiful Fathers Day get away. Customer Svc is 100% and our room was nice, clean and comfy it was like a home away from home. Loved the extras Bbq grill, Tables, Chairs, Fire Pit, River and lots of open space to relax and enjoy nature. The pictures on the website is nothing compared to what we experienced it's so much more. I'm happy I choose to stay here and we will be back very soon.

Comfy beds, friendly staff, good location! The creek, right next to the motel, is divine. Enjoy!

A very comfortable and quiet little cottage. Although, the bathroom was huge with a walk-in shower. There are no tvs in the cottages and the WiFi is a little dodgy. Cell phone reception isn't the best either. I think what I am getting at is that you can really disconnect when you say at La Honda Park. You are forced to communicate with your loved ones. The cottages are only equipped with a microwave. If you want to cook something more robust, there is a communal kitchen in the pool house. Believe me, it has everything you need. Also, there are bbqs in just about every common area. Aside from the beautiful grounds and comfortable accommodations, there is the barn. The barn is probably the best part about this place. It has a foosball table, a pool table, poker table, dart board, and a tv. The back doors slide open to a small seating area overlooking Angel Creek. I can't describe it. You just need to experience. The owner are Jenn and Barr. They were so nice. Once we checked in, they left us alone. In fact, they left the property. Besides my family, there was another family staying in the Main House. They were very nice and welcoming. I can't wait to go back and sit next to the creek and drink my morning coffee.

At first, I didn't want to write a review, because this is the kind of place you want to keep…read moresecret. A gaggle of girlfriends rented three cottages here, as three of us were celebrating our 40th/41st birthdays. The perfect "home base" for staging an attack upon Murphys downtown shopping, dining and wine tasting establishments, or as a leap-off point for local hikes and the gorgeous Moaning and Mercer Caverns. Each cottage is appointed with a gas-fueled faux wood-stove fireplace (easy operation via thermostat), fridge, micro, coffee maker, basic silverware/plates/cups, wonderful showers (great for power-washing off the mud and sweat after a day of rappelling and spelunking!) and extremely comfortable queen beds. Each cottage has its own character, giving the feel of the kind of decor a favorite aunt might select for your family's personal mountain cabin. Extremely clean and comfortable! Hang out by the fire, or chill out on your own front porch overlooking the lawn and creek. Or... ...head over to The Barn, a communal recreation room appointed with an air-hockey table, pool table, kitchen area (including a wine fridge!) and big-screen satellite TV/sat radio. The Barn was recently remodeled, using reclaimed barnwood, corrugated metal (for the ceiling sub-roof) and a pretty brilliant wallcovering that looks like warm old plaster, but is actually recycled craft paper and some sort of natural varnish. Cool! Also, a few relics from the region's mining days. There are board games, darts, books and other stuff to keep the individual, family or small group entertained. There's a large swimming pool (unheated in winter) and a small wading pool adjacent to another community kitchen and outdoor picnic area, and the only thing this area lacks is a hot tub. (Hint, hint!) Finally, there's Cosmo, the biggest, sweetest cat you'll ever want to kidnap. He's not allowed in the cabins, but he'll happily keep you company as you read a book on the porch, or wander up to the beautiful waterfalls behind the barn. He'll also keep score if you want to use the bocce court or horseshoe pits! Parking is limited, so don't expect to haul in ATV trailers or your RVs, but that's about the only con to this wonderful little family-run resort!
