We were in need of a tree service company to remove some trees close to our home and some that were diseased. We also needed some old stumps grinded and a bit of tree trimming. We contacted a number of companies in the area and four companies provided quotes for us. One of those companies was Sierra Pacific Tree Care. We have only the best things to say about this business. From the very beginning, the company was super responsive and came out in a timely manner to give us a quote. The office manager, Liz was an excellent communicator. She was patient and always was able to answer our questions or get back to us quickly with an answer. We were told by the owner, Mauro that some of the stumps may not be able to be grinded but he would do his best. On the day of work, Mauro showed up with six workers, heavy equipment and trucks with trailers. To our absolute delight, Mauro's fleet of men were super hard working, running up our hill at a quick quip to get the job done. Some of the men were high up in the trees cutting down branches and piece by piece logs. We must mention that there were power lines tethered to two of the trees needing to come down and the men were very careful and skilled so that the power lines remained intact. We also have to give kudos to Mauro. He is not one of those owners who sits back and watches the work being done. He got his hands dirty, literally by working the grinder and removing numerous stumps. It was an all day job and the crew broke for a 30 minute lunch before getting back at it. When all of the work was done, the crew cleaned up all of the debris, sawdust and logs. Their work ethic was truly admirable. We were very impressed with the work and will use them in the future. We had a devastating event happened at our home up in Pollock Pines. 100 foot tree smashed through the entire left wing of the house on Christmas Eve morning.Sierra Pacific tree removal company was the only person who answered at 1 o'clock in the morning and got over to my house immediately and spent countless hours removing several trees from my property. We had a quote the next morning and they were able to remove the tree the following day! When the foreman came out to do the estimate, he was thorough. He walked the whole area I wanted cleared for defensible space, and when he came back his experience was evident with his explanation of what should be done, how they were going to do it, how long it would take, and how much. They arrived a crew of 7. They talked for about 15 minutes as they walked the property, then they split up and worked hard! Everyone worked together like they grew up with each other. It was amazing! The crew was in touch with me throughout the day asking questions, and verifying if I wanted to keep certain trees, and recommending other trees to be removed and why. After all that, they finished before 3PM after starting at 8AM. I assumed they would pack up and head out for the day. No, instead, they did a lot more for another hour beyond what I had asked them to do. I am sitting in my back yard with my phone and that reminded me I owed this company a review. We hired Sierra Pacific Tree Care a few months ago and the initial experience was all great. After the visit to quote the job and establish what the job was going to entail, the crew came to work. The day of the work, the person who gave us the quote was not with the crew but they assured us they knew what was expected. Long story short, we have about 60 trees and a thick canopy in our yard so when we looked at the job the day of thought it was fine. A few days later, when we started looking from different angles, it was clear there was more to be thinned. We called and after 2-3 attempts, a different person came out and agreed there was work that should have been done. When he called his supervisor, he was told it would only be done if we paid. The work was within the original scope of the project so we objected. Now time has gone by and we have been busy with work travel but every time I look at those trees, I get annoyed again. Sierra Pacific gave me an estimate a few weeks ago. I had called out a few other companies but they were the only ones that returned my call. I did some research in advance so I knew that the price quoted was "fair". Once I approved quote, I received a call the next day to schedule and they got me on the books in less than a week. They were out yesterday to trim three trees; a sycamore and two oaks. One Oak was hitting the barn roof and quite overgrown and the other one was hitting the home roof. Both trees required skilled workers and the location of trees and the fact that they were hitting the roof made for a very laborious project. They got to my house right when they said they would. They had four workers including the owner and they were meticulous with clean up, etc. There was not a branch left on the ground.
