What an excellent adventure, especially with Captain Charles (Charlie) Alexander! I met my friends in Sarasota as the family was there on Spring Break and booked this 4-hour catamaran excursion. The harbor area was easy to locate based on the directions given, and a parking pass is provided (as the lot posts a free 3-hour limit). We set sail a little after 1pm. It was a little windy starting out, but Captain Charlie maneuvered the catamaran expertly. He also provided local commentary on the area and made us laugh with his jokes and statements. Sandwiches were provided at the halfway point, and we were allowed to bring drinks and snacks on the catamaran. There were 12 of us in our group and we easily moved around the boat and had plenty of room to stretch out. Captain Charlie even directed us to a small cove area where dolphins played along the seawalls. We got to see a mother, father and baby dolphin frolic in the water as well as one dolphin (probably the dad) swim along and under the catamaran. We all enjoyed that experience! We had great wind but only sailed for about 30 minutes. The captain was great. We did a motor cruise of celebrity houses on bird island and siesta key, I couldn't care less about celebrities 10 million dollar houses. I wanted to sail. The sunset was amazing. Nice catamaran. read more

We went on a charter this weekend with Tom and it was a fantastic time! We booked four people and ultimately had a private boat to ourselves as apparently no one else had booked this evening. Beautifully relaxing. Catamaran sunset cruising is an extravagant step up from your average tour boat. The public tour was not very crowded - there were only 6 of us in total. This atmosphere is perfect for friends and also romantic enough for lovers. Once you get comfortable, you are free to enjoy any snacks and beverages that you may bring. The considerate captain adventured back around to a bay so we could see dolphins up at a closer look. I highly recommend this for any adult. read more

I am about three and a half months late on posting this review and I truly apologize to everyone who has booked outings during this time. The reason is because they were not able to see my review. Captain Craig and Kathleen D Sailing Catamarans are by far one of the best A+ examples of customer service I have ever come across in my short life. I booked a sunset cruise to propose to my now fiancée (yay us). I had discussed this with Craig and he completely went out of his way to ensure that everything was available for me last minute. From getting a bottle stashed for me (I had a message that was put in it), throwing the bottle off the boat when she wasn't looking, coming up with a good excuse to grab said bottle as people were "littering", catching the photo of the proposal without being asked to and also surprising us with a nice bottle of champagne sent from my parents, it was perfect. Heck, I'm pretty sure he even made a call to the big guy upstairs as it was a perfect sunset with perfect weather in the middle of a rainy week. Thank you, thank you, thank you. My husband gave me a $100 gift certificate to this place a couple of Christmas ago. We wanted to book a special anniversary sail. Unfortunately, we did not see there was an expiration date handwritten in VERY, VERY small print along the side of the gift certificate. When my husband called they would not honor the coupon because it was expired. We are very disappointed. It seems like they could have been more understanding, Especially after the year we have all just had, which is a big reason we did not use it last year. This was our second year sailing with Kathleen D sailing catamarans. The first year our captain was "The resident Rastafarian " who's name escapes me. He was so pleasant and made our sail extremely enjoyable. This year our captain Russ was also a pleasure. We ran into many lovebugs and he was kind and understanding of the situation. He tried relentlessly to avoid them to no avail. We ended up ending our sail early and upon arrival to the dock, he informed us that they were going to refund half our fee. Had a great trip with Captain Kraig. Fun and entertaining. The catamaran is small which allows for an almost private boat ride. There were to be six guests but only 5 went. We stopped to kayak, and anchored close to Lido Beach. We spent at least an hour swimming while other guests went snorkeling. A quick and easy, yet filling lunch left us all pretty relaxed and lethargic. We would definitely book this trip again. read more

This was really an awesome experience that made my wife's birthday special. The team does all the can to provide a very comfortable and relaxing tour. Even tough it is a 2 hour tour, the captain is not limited and will ensure that you get the best possible spot to see the beautiful sunset. I signed up 3of my family for the sunset cruise. I was told the boat needed 4 to launch. Janet took my info with the promise that she would call the next day to confirm that the cruise would proceed. I never got a call. After leaving 2 voice mails to the owner Kathleen d I was told the cruise was full and leaving soon. We spent an evening of my bachelorette party on the 2 hour sunset cruise from Marina Jacks. The whole process was very easy from start to finish including directions, payment, etc. Captain Steve was so great with our group - helpful when needed (taking our group pictures when requested, showing us a few celebrity houses, passing our drinks to us, etc.) but was not intrusive at all. We have been on many Catamaran packages. The last one we were on included a beautiful fruit and pastry breakfast, a homemade lunch, and all the drinks you could drink. (water, soda, beer, an alcohol infused punch) It was the same price as this one. We went to many areas of the Caribbean. On this trip we went to an island we could see from the shore we departed from. It took an hour and half to get there. It was BYOB but lunch was to be provided. We had our own drinks water and otherwise and our own snorkeling gear. We were asked about dietary restrictions ahead of time. Two people in our party are vegetarian. Lunch wasn't offered until late in the afternoon. It consisted of cheese sandwiches. Apparently if you have a dietary restriction in your party everyone gets the same thing. There were chips below we were never even offered. I said to my family many times i wish i brought my noodles. I realized later there were noodles on board but they were never offered. If I had to do this over I wouldn't have bothered. read more
