We originally found Signature Kitchen and Bath at the 2024 Home and Garden Show. We are so happy we chose Signature to renovate our master and guest bathrooms. Ben and his crews were very easy to work with through the whole process. From picking out materials (tile, tubs, faucets, sinks, etc) to the demo and installation phases, they were attentive to our questions and concerns. We got quick answers and they provided full explanations before proceeding on something we were unsure of. One of my favorite words is "excellent". Good way to start a review of a company... excellent. We interviewed three different contractors in one day for a remodel project in Sun City. We very quickly decided on Ben Dubei and Signature Remodeling. It was not a hard decision at all. We immediately felt comfortable and trusted that Ben understood what we wanted and could deliver as promised. The scope of the project involved taking both the kitchen and guest bath down to the walls, in some cases down to the studs, and starting over. Add to that redoing half of the flooring in the house. And add to that the fact that we lived in another state and the remodel would be done in our absence. Ben was in touch throughout the project, made excellent suggestions along the way, met every deadline (early on some) and the final project exceeded expectations. And there were no surprises on the budget. This is one of the few things in my life that I can honestly say "if I had it to do over I'd do the same thing". If something was delayed, he found a way to fill the gap and keep moving forward. Was cognizant of our daily lives, and tried to make sure that if without a necessity, it was only for a short time. Gave us full control on picking out products and supplies, while advising where necessary (particularly with measurements, quality, etc). It was a lot of work for us to research and purchase, but believe we were able to keep some of our materials costs down this way. Solutions focused when minor things came up. BEWARE of this company! The owner Ben, project manager and subcontractors were nothing but headaches. We did our research but apparently not enough. At the time, Yelp didn't have a lot of reviews and another site mentioned a lawsuit. Ben's explanation of the lawsuit should have been a warning to us. We asked Ben for references, which was provided. We called his references and the reviews didn't trigger any red flags. First issue, we didn't get the renovation drawing of our kitchen so we couldn't confirm the size of the cabinets. Sure enough, they ordered and installed the wrong size cabinets, which created negative space and one area looked really off. Second issue, project manager went MIA. Weeks later, Ben finally told us he was hospitalized and that he was taking over. Unfortunately, he was always on vacation. Third issue, when he was on site to discuss the problems, he either quoted "we completed in accordance with the terms and conditions of Arizona general contractor statute" or he said it's hard to hire and retain good workers. He always had an excuse like it was rehearsed or had used it many times before. He never owned up to anything. Lastly, there were many other issues we could add but we had years to cool down. read more

Stay away from this company! The owner, office manager, and project manager have all been a headache to deal with and were contentious from the first time we brought an issue to their attention. We hired Signature to do a kitchen remodel in a new home that we purchased. We should have known that we were in for a nightmare from the beginning, when they refused to give us any details. None of the items on the contract were priced out. The contract just said 6-8 weeks, which they really meant 6-8 weeks from the time they started work--a month after we signed. The emails from our project manager, Michelle, were always vague with no dates or schedule. Then as work began, more problems arose. When we were not home, Michelle decided to go through one of our downstairs rooms (we are only renovating the kitchen so there is no need for her to go downstairs) and she took one of our chairs and decided to use it while she was waiting for the owner in our kitchen. She left the chair there and it was covered in dust when we saw it the following weekend. When we asked her about it, the office manager, Casey, tried to justify Michelle's actions saying that she has every right to use our things when we "invite" them into our home. I'm glad we didn't move in yet and have valuables in our home. Complete breach of trust! The last straw was when we visited the house while they were putting up cabinets. There were huge holes in the walls that they were trying to cover up with the cabinets, there were gaps in the shelving (i.e. the shelves weren't cut to the right size), and painted areas did not match the existing paint (see pictures). I asked the owner, Ben, and the cabinet installer to leave because they were arguing with me about the issues saying that they were not a big deal. The owner refused to listen to my concerns and correct them. The office manager and owner later wrote several rude, threatening emails to me. I wish I had researched this company more before handing them my money, but my mistake can't be undone. The only thing I can do is help others to not make the same mistake. My wife and I finally decided to take the leap and remodel our kitchen, master bath, guest bath and a few other smaller projects like our railing, front door ect.... We vetted several companies before getting referred to Signature Kitchen and Bath. We were referred to them by a friend who had used them on three previous jobs. It was reassuring to have a personal reference whom we knew and had used them repeatedly. I would strongly recommend Signature Kitchen and Bath and will be using them for future projects. It was great to finally find a company that could manage all the various projects we wanted done simultaneously while not inconveniencing our family. Having a dedicated project manager who was willing to accommodate our schedule with three young kids was great. Ben was very knowledgeable, personable, dependable, responsive, and reliable throughout the entire process. The best thing about working with Signature Kitchen and Bath was the transparency. A project of this size was a considerable investment and could have been much more stressful than it already was if we didn't have the open communication and transparency Ben showed. We were able to get everything we wanted done on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to our daily activities. It was a relief to have someone managing our project who could put our minds at ease by recognizing, empathizing, and resolving any unexpected issues and/or concerns that arose. The most impressive part of the process was the management of all the different companies and tradesmen who came through our home to get this project completed. Everyone was polite, professional, considerate and courteous. It was nice to have so many crews who would clean up after themselves at the end of every day and respect the fact that we were still living here throughout the whole project. A month after our project has completed, we have no regrets about working with Ben and Signature Kitchen and Bath. Three yrs ago almost to the day, we had them redo our kitchen. An undermount sink was installed. We thought we would be done for at least another 15-20yrs. Three weeks ago, our sink fell into the cabinet. No warning, just a big bang. We called repeatedly with no response. We ultimately, found a super guy who reinstalled the sink with the appropriate braces which were not put in during the remodel. Short cutting this one step cost us $$$. We also have several dings in our beautiful quartze countertop which they refused to address at the time of installation. The installer, the bosses son, told me it was nothing, just dirt. Right!!! We are not contractors, so we did not think to ask if they had installed the braces for the sink. read more

My family and I had a Pinterest vision for our kitchen area. We were unable to find a dream home that met all of our criteria, so remodeling was something we had to do. After getting a few different quotes from different companies, we decided to go with Ben at Signature Kitchen and Bath. His price was not the lowest or highest, but fair. He was able to take care of all of the different trades. Building the custom bench, the painting. Tearing down a wall, updating the drywall, fixing the floors. Verse us having to coordinate all of those different steps to be whole again. We are so pleased with the final product, and would recommend Ben and this company to all friends & family! read more

I initially felt good with owner Ben. Interestingly enough, he never introduced himself as the owner of the company. As I found out, the next surprise always exceeded the previous. Ben was initially affable and had good ideas for our remodel. Only later we learn Ben wasn't the project manager and instead would hand off responsibility to someone else. Ben said he would enter the design onto a computer for me to review at their main office. I tried to pop in to the sales studio within the 48hr window allowing me a cancel contract if needed, but the office staff encouraged me to come in the following week. I reminded them I only had a 48hr window. They agreed to my visit upon which I learned Ben's program lacked any specifics. Two days earlier we made some changes so that could be part to blame but Ben also admitted he was very busy with potential business from the Maricopa Home Show. In any event, it was a downer. Per email instructions, I printed out, initialed, and emailed the remodel Scope of Work only later to learn Ben used DocUsign. I quickly learned why. At the end of the DocUsign file were new, wild contractual terms - home owner is responsible for vandalism and theft, only one chance to use the 24 month warranty, before/after picture will be used for their marketing, final payment is required after the work is upon "substantial completion" of work which is in contrast to the AZ Prompt Pay Act where monies can be held back upon: - Unsatisfactory job progress... - Defective construction work or materials not remedied... - Disputed work or materials... - Failure to comply with other material provisions ... - Damage to the Owner, Contractor, another Subcontractor... - Reasonable evidence that the construction contract or subcontract cannot be completed for the unpaid balance... I discussed my issues with the office staff but he didn't care about my concerns and let me know the contract terms were non-negotiable. At that point, I gave written notice of contract cancellation. I also emailed Ben but never heard back from him. Be very careful with this outfit! read more

We met this company at the Phoenix Home and Garden Show in April and Todd came out to our home shortly thereafter. Todd seemed nice and knowledgeable but we never heard from him again with a quote which was incredibly disappointing. We left him a message three weeks later, no response. We called the company a week or two after that to make sure he was still with the.company and the person that answered the phone (Derek) said he would have him call. That was over a month ago. It has been ~1 month since my bathroom upgrades (master and hall) have been completed and I can't be happier. It was a pleasure to work with the team @ Signature. My Project Manager Mike was great and the workers were professional, courteous and competent. I have to give a shout out to Chad who was at my home ~80% of the time. As with any project when you open up walls or floors you never know what you will find. As it turned out the master bathroom shower pan was not installed correctly and required additional work to repair. Mike worked with me to understand the issue, and fix as well as worked with me in regards to the added cost. He also was great in sourcing materials to match the existing tile. The overall experience was better than I expected. Mike was great at keeping me informed and setting expectations upfront. Providing tips on how to make the experience less frustrating. And when I called with a change or a concern he was always understanding and helpful. I plan on using Signature for my Kitchen upgrade next year. read more

First of all, our whole home renovation was over $200K. As any homeowner knows, remodeling a home can be both very exciting and very nerve racking. You feel this way especially, when you are handing the reigns over to a contractor that you hope will care as much about the project as you do. So you do your homework, check references, and check the BBB, to try and cull the cream of the crop from the less than favorable bunch. You hope all this will be enough, take a deep breath, and sign on the dotted line to get things started. And from there, it can be anyone's guess... However, from the beginning, Todd(Sales), Mike(Project Manager), and Ben(Owner) made us feel confident that we chose the right team for the job. They took the time to work with us to get to know what we wanted. After some brainstorming, they presented a visual presentation turning our ideas into reality, and we decided to move forward. Making such a big choice, can be overwhelming, but Ben gave us his word that everything would be great and that SKB would stand behind all their work. From beginning to the end, Mike was amazing to work with. He addressed all of our concerns throughout the project. He always responded in a timely manner and definitely had our best interest at heart when working on our project. We enjoyed working with him and could count on him to watch over our lengthy and top to bottom renovation. He is definitely a great Project Manager and we would have no qualms in working with him again, or anyone at Signature. If you are looking for real contractor specialist, these are your guys! This company is not to be trusted. They cancelled the first appointment the day before, and yesterday I waited all day. I finally called and the woman who answered the phone lied to me and said he should have been at my house. She promised he would be here any minute! I don't understand this. If they weren't interested in a complete kitchen remodel then why are they in business? Makes me so happy I found out their true nature before hiring them. Be prepared to have your patience tried. We just completed a bathroom remodel This company's definition of time is very unique. They congratulated themselves on a project "completed in four weeks". In actuality it was more like six weeks. However, that in itself, is not a big deal. Our extreme frustration was the lack of communication from those in charge. Phone calls were never returned. Texting is out or the question. Being informed as to when certain work would be done NEVER occurred. Apparently they fully expect to put a lock box on your home and come and go as they please. If you do bring up any minor change you'd like during the course of the project, you'd better ensure that it's put in writing. If not, you'll get "we don't recall". The help we were promised to select our fixtures, tile, etc., turned out to be; here is the name of a store, let us know when you're done. All that being said, we were very pleased with the various workers that actually came on site. The level of craftsmanship was very good. Thank goodness for that. We are satisfied with the end result. We were told a bathroom would take approximately four weeks. Told that the permits take a few days. So, we signed the contract and were excited to be having professionals remodel our master bathroom. The price quoted was high but we were happy to pay thinking this would be done quickly and professionally. We've done many DIY projects but didn't want to spend the time it would take us to finish this type of project. A few days for a permit turned into 45 days. They started the work going backwards so we were thinking once the permits came thru it'd be pretty quick to finish. That didn't happen. The tile was the ONE thing we stressed that we wanted it done and done right not to have mistakes. There were many mistakes some corrected after visit after visit after visit and then we finally said enough we didn't want that tile guy in our home "period" end of story. So, the boss of the tile company came with another tile guy and spent many hours fixing what they could. The things they couldn't fix we didn't even bother to ask because they'd literally have to start from scratch. The fabricators for our marble countertop and shower seat was an even worse nightmare. They came to install the countertop and broke it. We choose another and they managed to get that one installed. The shower seat was the worst nightmare. "FOUR" times they did the seat. The first cut to short so there was no overhang and pitched wrong so collected water... the supervisor said it HAD to be redone. The next try they cut it to short length wise... he said he "thought" he cut it 2" extra... did he not measure... then he didn't even tell the office that he had made this mistake... they found out when I called to ask them when they'd be installing for the 3rd time... We found a piece to match our counters and instead of going to get it (it had been paid for by the company) they used something they had on hand which had greys and green veins vs. ours that had greys and blues... so they installed it without showing me or letting us know... at this point the office finally switched us over to a different fabricator that was so much more professional. They picked up the piece and did it right. The problem is The project mgr. was difficult to contact. The supervisor was at our house maybe two times. No one was checking on the work quality... Unless we complained they'd never know anything was wrong... there is not enough I can say here without one reading a book... If you get lucky and get the contractors who actually know what they are doing then you'll most likely be giving a five star review like I've seen... but I've also seen the one star reviews and they are like mine... COMMUNICATION IS ZERO.. and by that I mean you can't get ahold of anyone except by email or office hours... Brady was project mgr. and the worst... if you talked about something he'd never recall it... If you hire this company after reading these reviews you're going to need a lot of luck!!! Make sure Brady isn't your project mgr. and if you have a supervisor make sure you ask how often he'll be checking on the workers. Lauren at the office is an amazing woman who finally took over at about month 5 and started getting things done... My advise is RUN!!!! hire anyone else who has some time doing this stuff... the small details that pull the job together in the end were very lacking... communication should be a must and I wrote Brady a very long email asking that we all get on the same page and talk... that was totally ignored... you will NEVER know who is coming or what day they are coming. This company has been in business for maybe 3 yrs. Not worth risking $25,000 or more on this company. There are companies with many years of experience... I think because we met them at the trade show we just believed they'd be as good as Todd, the sales guy at the trade show made us feel comfortable that we'd get everything we were asking for... think twice before you hire this company. read more

i've waited for a year before making this review because i was hoping that signature would resolve a few problems. it's clear that isn't going to happen. we had a kitchen remodel done about a year ago. the planning process went very well. we had decided to use quartz for both the countertops and the backsplash. we used expensive quartz. the idea was to have a clean continuous look. overall both the demo and the install process worked well. the project manager and the craftsmen were good to work with. we were good to work with as well. things went smoothly.... until the countertop and the backsplash were installed. there wasn't enough quartz to finish the job as planned and so they left the space above the stovetop blank. no one told us there wasn't enough in case we wanted to make a small change or order an extra piece. we agreed to try tile in the blank space. but we were not happy with the result at all. we still aren't happy. in addition, there were some adjustments needed for the fit of the cabinet doors and a piece of molding to be installed behing the refrigerator. when our project manager stopped by for the final payment, i hesitated. but he assured me that they would take care of the backsplash with a piece of matching quartz and fix the other smaller items. i trusted him. the one piece of advice i'd give anyone who deal with signature is to hold the final payment until you're completely satisfied. we're going to have to have someone else adjust the cabinets and come up with a design/install of a tile insert above the stove. live and learn. read more
