You wouldn't know you're still technically in town because it feels like you're tucked away!! Every tent was super spacey (we stayed in the Fab+) and there's a heated blanket which made the nights sooo comfortable. The bed was also super comfy! Each tent also has its own little private outside setup with chairs & table on the porch plus lounge chairs and a personal fireplace right outside. Like literally every single tent had its own private fireplace right outside. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating and even offered extra towels and blankets whenever needed which we really appreciated. The pool and hot tub area were also extremely clean and well kept the entire time. One thing I was pleasantly surprised by was the bathroom situation. Since they're shared bathrooms I expected something more public or hostel style but each one is actually completely private with its own shower and bathroom which made the experience feel way more comfortable. And the location honestly could not be better. You're literally just a 3-4 blocks from downtown Guerneville so you can walk to all the restaurants, bars, thrift shops and little art galleries so easily. We will be back at Surrey Resort every time we're in Guerneville!!

1/2 2.5 Stars -- Beautiful Setting, But Major Issues With Quiet Hours & Bathrooms…read more We recently stayed at The Surrey in Guerneville and really wanted to love it. The property itself is beautiful, and there's a lot of potential for a fun, relaxing glamping experience. Unfortunately, a couple of significant issues really impacted our stay. The biggest problem was the lack of an overnight camp host to enforce the 10 PM quiet hours. The tents are canvas, so sound carries extremely easily. One group had approximately 5 tents with 12-15 people, and they were talking, laughing, and making noise until after 2:30 AM. Because there was no camp host on site after 8 PM, there was really no one available to enforce the 10 PM quiet hours. This was especially surprising to me because, if this were a traditional campground, I would expect an on-site camp host to be present to enforce quiet hours, monitor the property, and address things like campfires and other after-hours issues. I have stayed at many campgrounds and have never experienced one without an on-site host or someone responsible for the campground overnight. I spoke with management the following morning and explained what happened. I was told they would speak with the group. Unfortunately, the very next night, the same group was again making noise and playing music. I called the after-hours emergency number and left a voicemail. As far as I know, nothing was done. I never received a call back, and no one followed up with me the next day. The following night was the same situation again -- loud talking and music late into the evening, with no camp host available. For a property advertising a relaxing camping/glamping experience with designated quiet hours, I think having someone on-site after 8 PM is extremely important. Otherwise, guests who are trying to sleep have very little recourse when other groups ignore the rules. The second major issue was the bathroom situation. There are only three showers for more than 20 tents, and the showers are located in the same small spaces as the toilets. If someone is showering, that bathroom isn't available for someone who simply needs to use the toilet. With that many guests, this creates a significant bottleneck. The bathrooms are also quite a walk from some of the tents, which is especially inconvenient at night. I don't expect a campground to have hotel-level amenities, but with the number of tents and guests this property accommodates, I think the bathroom facilities need to be better planned or expanded. Overall, we enjoyed the location and the concept, but the repeated nighttime noise and lack of after-hours management significantly affected our ability to relax and sleep. The fact that management was notified after the first night and the same issue continued for two more nights was particularly disappointing. 2.5 stars. There is a lot to like about The Surrey, but until there is better overnight enforcement of quiet hours and improved bathroom capacity, I would hesitate to return.
