A mega playground climbing structure with many slides, and a smaller one for littles. There's a bathroom here, and it's right across the street from the Fort Bragg library which also has bathrooms. Free street parking. Even a giant skateboard thing you can balance on. A workout area for adults. Lots to do here.

The Good: *It's nature! *It's the beach! *Free parking! *The sandy portion of the beach is HUGE, and could accommodate hundreds of beachgoers, if need be. But, I suspect, it's probably mostly empty due to the area and the small parking lot. *Gorgeous cliffs surround the beach, with some nice big rocks off the coast. *Short (±500') walk from the parking lot to the beach The Meh: *As I mentioned earlier, the parking lot is awful small and only holds 30 regular parking spots + 2 handicapable spots which are to be shared btwn the beach and park. The Ugly: *The stairs getting from the p-lot to the beach are pretty steep, which I didn't mind, but if "Somebody" has bad knees then they will def be a challenge. *Water is def *NOT* swimmable unless one has a death wish. TLDR: Great beach to chillax at and pretty much have to oneself. Make sure to check out the park, as well, for a well-rounded day of nature therapy.

Park rangers (in my experience) have always been friendly and amazing at their jobs(: Dogs welcome on leash. Parking is free but the parking lot itself is pretty small. The beach is amazing. You have to walk downhill to get to it but totally worth it and it's not that bad of a trail to get up and down. Very clean, both the actual beach and the water. You can walk down the river and find some cool spots. You can stand under the bridge and see some art done on the walls of the bridge which I always find cool. You can also sometimes see seals hanging around close by in the ocean. The ocean is swimmable sometimes but not always. The headlands have such gorgeous views. There a couple trails you can take when walking the headlands. You have a clear view of the ocean and the beach and can see seals from there even better than the beach. There is a trail on the headlands that leads down to another beach, only the trail is a little more difficult. I definitely recommend taking the trail through the woods to the headlands because the trees and plants through there are amazing and unique! The other trail through the woods will lead you to a staircase that you can go down and it'll take you to a wooden bridge above the river. A little more of a effort to walk but the bridge is cool and the nature surrounding it is amazing! This trail will go for miles but you get to see the gorgeous scenery as you hike.

The Good: *It's nature and a beach all rolled into one! :) *Easy access off the freeway and free parking. *Restrooms (see below) *Decent views of the ocean but nothing we haven't seen before and better. *Waters seem fairly calm and would be a good place to kayak. The Meh: *No sandy beaches but full of smallish river rocks that make walking on the beach a chore. *Because of the aforementioned rocks not a place you can picnic or hangout, really. The Ugly: *The restrooms are the hole-in-the-ground type and obviously hadn't been pumped in a while. #CantUnseeThat TLDR: Nice stretch of coastline that would be great for kayaking but not much else beyond a leg stretch and pit stop--just don't look down... 0_o

We've travel up and down CA coastal several times, and I still can't get enough! From the Monterey Peninsula to the bluffs, it is just breathtaking. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes, great walking shoes, light sweater, plenty of water, snacks and of course sun screen. the scenic, trails, pathways, are breathtaking . Even thought Carmel, Cambrian and sand dollar are my favorite places in Northern Ca. It doesn't matter if you like trails or 60 degree weather these are the places to visit. Big Sur, DelMonte,Morro Bay , half moon bay, anything by the northern peninsula or above the peninsula, I totally recommend. I will assure you that you'll enjoy the scenes, the trails, the resting benches, the weather, and sunsets. Be adventurous and travel one of the most beautiful highways in California "highway 1."

Some tall mature trees and a small playground mark this park. New trees have been planted as the park looks toward a better future. However, it could use a little TLC, as it is kind of scruffy, with threadbare grass. The main pathway through the park, with an attractive border of names of donators, was sullied by dirt and mud. A new grassy area and regular maintenance would go a long way to an improved appearance. It's located in the southeast part of downtown, bordered on the south by Main Street, between Lansing and Howard Streets.
