My husband discovered Sikara when he was looking for a gift for me a couple of years ago. Sikara has become my favorite jewelry store in Austin. I now have over 10 pieces of jewelry, 2 beautiful wallets and a precious blouse. I get compliments every time I wear any of my jewelry. I have also purchased several items for my sisters and my friends. My sister who lives in Houston orders through their website. They have a wonderful loyalty program called Perkville which is a great way to save money on purchases. The very BEST thing about Sikara is that my husband knows exactly where to shop for me. I'm always so pleased with the customer service that I receive, and they now validate for parking during the week at the Violet Crown garage. My husband and I recently took a trip to Austin for our anniversary weekend. We decided to do some shopping and stopped in to Sikara & Co. I fell in love with the unique pieces that were available. We are big fans of Sikara & Co. Their boutique in Austin's 2nd Street District has beautifully designed, fairly priced, modern jewelry collections inspired by different regions around the world. My wife, who is an avid collector of earrings, even found her latest favorite pair here, one of which she promptly lost a few days later. Dropping in to buy her a replacement, I found for myself in their German collection a handsome pair of Schwarz-Rot-Gold cuff links. The staff at Sikara are friendly and attentive. I had a horrible experience and I wasn't going to write a review, but when the stone fell out of my mom's ring, that was the last straw. We went to Sikara for a wine tasting party on a Sunday night. Bought a pair of earrings for my daughter for her birthday. She couldn't get them in - the posts were too thick and jagged. Went back the the store and we had to literally dig through several pair to try to find some that were tapered and smooth with no luck, so they had to be sent to jeweler to fix. The woman that helped me even commented that they were not made well. They looked like they had been cut with commercial wire cutters, not intended for jewelry At the same party, I selected a ring that was too small. I was told it was not a big deal, the ring could be resized. I called back first thing the next morning - to cancel the order. I was told they did not take returns. WTF? For something I didn't even have in my possession? The owner called me back to let me know she would work with me, but the ring had already been sent to the jeweler to resize. Over the next several weeks, I made THREE trips to the store to try on the ring - the size was never right - even though each time the woman helping would resize my finger, size the ring and see that it had not been sized appropriately. I live in Round Rock, so after the third trip, I told her I wanted my money back. The owner assured me she would refund my card. A few weeks later, the refund had not happened so I had to call the credit company and dispute the charges - for a ring I NEVER had in my possession. At the same party, my mom had also ordered a ring that was supposed to be sized before Christmas. She didn't receive the ring until after January. after calling the store a few times. At least when she got the ring, it was sized appropriately, but in less than three months, the stone fell out - and she only wore the ring on special occasions. All that glitters is not gold - they have great appeal, but quality and integrity are highly questionable. read more

This store is one of my long time favs. We live in the CA Bay Area, but when we are in Austin (hubby's family) I make sure we stop by to check out the pretty sparkles and bobbles at this store. I don't always find something when I visit, but some of my favorite jewelry has come from Sikara & Co.-- a beautiful labradorite set with rectangular cut gemstones in a necklace, bracelet and set of dangly earrings I picked out as an anniversary gift years ago tops the list. Recently we bought my husband, who is a cuff link collector, a super cool set made from old school SF municipal transit tokens. I never ever buy jewelry for myself... but I walked in to this store and found the most elegant, classy, simple rose gold ring with the smallest pave diamonds. I bought it. I loveddddd it. The next day I looked at my new favorite ring and a pave was already missing.... just my luck... the one time I buy jewelry. I went back in, they were so sweet, got me another one ...with a smile on her face. I went to a happy hour hosted here to benefit the March of Dimes. The concept is jewelry from different regions of the world, and the owner is socially conscious. While I don't have an eye for it, my female friends were very impressed. If you're looking to spend around $100 per item, it seems like it would be hard to top this store. read more
