I am giving one star because I cannot give 0. I brought a couple of outside repairs here a few months ago. I received great service, and my repairs were great. I brought in two ring sizings. Today, however, I was treated with contempt when I brought in my repair. They were outside repairs, and I was very rudely dismissed with them saying my ring was too flimsy for them to work on, and they wouldn't even look at the other repair I brought in. There was a better way to speak to a repeat customer. I will never return. Moral of the story, don't come here unless you have expensive jewelry, or you're going to buy from them. Wow, thanks again, Yelp, for letting me in on a great spot. I have a GORGEOUS wedding band that I bought from a designer I love in NY. However, it's delicate, I'm not, so I tend to knock the tiny stones out more often than I should. I was spending a fortune sending it back and forth to her shop in NYC and decided I would ask Franzetti to check my settings, clean my ring, and possibly repair my other. Bobby (Maybe? I could have this wrong, awful with names,) was SO friendly and helpful. He gave me a wonderful quote for repair, cleaned my ring up, inspected it, and I was out the door in 15 minutes. I experienced an absolutely unacceptable, poor quality repair. This is not a phrase I use (and reminds me of something my grandmother would say), but they should be ashamed of the work they did. It was just that appallingly bad. I did my research and looked for a place that repaired jewelry, not just watches, and had great reviews. The ring I was having repaired was not at all valuable in the monetary sense but had a lot of sentimental value to me. The ring had a large moonstone in a simple setting and had cracked in 3 places when it slipped from my finger and hit the concrete. The clerk, Bobby, was very nice, and we even chatted about different semi precious stones. He assured me they could repair it; the cost would be about $80. Three weeks later when I went to pick it up, I stared in shock at the ill-repaired ring. Moonstone is a semi-translucent, white-hued stone. The glue they used was grey. There were now grey lines visibly running through the stone. There was also a 1-2mm offset ridge where the person who put it together did not align the crack properly. Where the stone was placed back in its simple, sterling silver setting, there was a 3-4mm gap on one side where they did not place the stone in the setting evenly. The repair marks on the underside of the band where they sized it down were egregiously apparent. I was speechless. To add insult to injury, Bobby came over and said "isn't it beautiful?" and I turned to him, mouth agape and mustered "are you kidding me?" as a reply. They took it back to "fix" it. I shouldn't have let them. 2 weeks later, i picked up the ring for a reduced $50 repair. The crack in the stone had been sanded so it was a straight line which you could see instead of the natural line of the crack before. At least the glue matched the stone. @ days later, the stone came out of the setting. Yes, it was just 2 days. It was a terrible experience. Maybe they thought an $80 sterling silver ring with a simple moonstone wasn't worth their time. This should have never happened. read more

Ok this review should've been posted months ago, but better later than never!! Let me start off by saying this place is aaaaamaaaazing!!! My now fiancé and I were in disagreement of what kind of ring you could really get with the budget we had chosen. The moment I walked in, I was already impressed. The store is small, but light and airy and very inviting. The jewelry displayed shimmers with all the light that pours in! We met with Bobby and sat down and discussed what we had in mind and our budget. Bobby was very helpful and knowledgeable. He taught us things about diamonds we didn't know walking in, and we were able to then prioritize what was most important to us. He's easy to talk to, and in no way pushy at all. When I first day down with Bobby back in late January, I was not really sure what I was doing. My son, a rising senior, and I walked into the shop about a half hour before closing looking for solutions for his oversized class ring. A wonderful woman met us at the door and was not only cordial but so genuine in her interest of my son and me. If I could give Franzetti more stars, I absolutely would. In trying to choose the perfect reasonably-ethical-but-still-classic-looking-engagement-ring, the internet showed me moissanite. Having never seen the stone in person, I was reluctant to blindly order the piece that would become the ruler of my jewelry collection for a lifetime off of some website. Lucky for me a coworker pointed me to Franzetti as a place in town that carries moissanite. When I went to the shop I discovered they may or may not have a lot in stock on a given day, but they gladly ordered the stone that would become mine in the size and quality I wanted with no commitment on our part to buy. I got to see my moissanite in lots of different lighting and alongside a number of other stones. And then Bobby Franzetti (who kinda resembles Elijah Wood as Frodo) designed a ring for me. He was fantastic to work with, and incorporated everything that was important to me (including some stuff I didn't even know to ask for, but that he figured out from talking to me). I never would have guessed that having a ring designed for me would be so reasonably priced, but Franzetti's bottom line rivaled the prices of non-custom pieces I'd seen online, and the online rings didn't look as good as the ring Bobby designed. I've been the proud wearer of a delightfully delectable custom moissanite engagement ring from Franzetti Jewelers for months now, and I can't think of any way my experience with Franzetti could have gone more perfectly. Customer service was top notch throughout the whole process, and I can't imagine purchasing fine jewelry anywhere else in town. These cats are A++ in my book. read more

Franzetti is still the most legit place in Austin! Over Christmas my Grandma gave me several pieces of jewelry. Some were costume, others were real and some. . . well she couldn't remember so she just stuck them all in a ziplock bag! Since I wasn't sure about the durability of the pieces I took them into Franzetti Jewelers where Bobby and Carrie sat down and went over each piece with me. It was a total delight! They listened to the background stories on the rings, took photographs of each one and promised to clean/evaluate all of the jewelry. I liked that they didn't frown upon the fact that most of the pieces weren't heirloom quality. They understood that the real value for me was in history surrounding the jewelry. They repaired prongs, cleaned everything up and provided me with a full report specifying the composition of the jewelry. My Grandma laughed when she learned her favorite "sapphire" was actually a nice piece of blue glass! That's the thing with Franzetti Jewelers. You're always treated wonderfully and there's a great deal of attentiveness placed on the customer. Plus, you can tell the staff has a love for what they do. What an incredible local "gem!" (Sorry!) I am an Austin native and was unaware of Franzetti's until last year when I decided to have my mother's wedding diamonds made into a pendant. A friend suggested I go to Franzetti's. Wow! This is a family-owned business of master jewelers and designers. Bobby and Tony are owners Monty and Cathy's sons, and both worked on the design of my pendant. I rarely go more than a day or two without someone remarking on how beautiful it is. It's a unique piece that I'll cherish forever and pass on to my daughter, thus keeping Mom's wedding diamonds close to our hearts. The inventory of the store appears to be selected with individuality and "one of a kind" as an essential criterion, and the quality of the stock pieces are top-notch and widely varied in both selection and price. If you don't want to read this whole review, suffice it to say that this place is family-owned, classy, and has ridiculously good customer service. Go there. When my boyfriend and I were talking about engagement rings, he said he could either surprise me, or we could go shopping and I could pick my own. I wanted something unique (but not weird), so I did a little research. I saw how highly recommended Franzetti came, so we went there. I'd emailed a bit with Tony with questions about their custom design process. He was quick in responding and informative. When we finally got to the shopping part, I walked in and was a little overwhelmed because sparkly things. Tony walked us over to the bridal section, got us a cold beverage, and let me look at lots of things while talking about options for a custom piece. During our initial appointment, Monty came over, showed us some of the mens' wedding bands, and explained the different types. I also was interested in getting moissanite instead of diamonds for a variety of reasons. They showed me a moissanite and a diamond side by side, and I ended up preferring the moissanite because it has a rainbow effect in the sparkle that the diamond didn't. For the custom design, I showed Tony some of the ones I liked online so he could get an idea of the features I wanted. About a week later he emailed me 3D renderings of the design. It was more beautiful than I imagined. We then went in, paid a deposit, and ordered it. The price was very reasonable. It took only three weeks to get my one-of-a-kind, stunningly beautiful ring. I was recently looking for a jeweler to restring a pearl necklace that had been gifted to me about 10 years ago and came across Franzetti Jewelers via Google. I dropped in one day to check it out and to see if they would be able to fix it with in the time frame needed and met Keri. I had previously gone to a couple of big chain jewelers but didn't like the idea of my necklace being sent off to another state to be looked at and then possibly fixed (no guarantee). This place is the real deal. It deserves all the 5 star reviews it has. Here is my story... I had already dropped off my engagement ring and wedding band to the jeweler where it was bought from. I was having them redipped and soldered together. The lady told me the price would be just shy of $200 not including tax. I decided to leave it with them since its where the ring was bought and I knew I could trust them with my diamonds. A few days after dropping my rings off, I was researching about getting one of my mom's rings reset for me. The jeweler downtown quoted me a large, large sum of money so I said I will think about it. When I read the reviews for this place I decided to take my mom's ring in to see how much they would quote me for it. They quoted me well under what my other jeweler told me. I, just being curious, wanted to see how much they would charge to get my rings (at the other store) redipped and soldered. She told me a super fair, well under the other jeweler, price. I was floored and also upset with myself that I had even asked her!! I also had another ring I wanted sized down and they gave me a really fair, much cheaper price than the other jeweler. When I left there I felt that I needed to give them business. Keri was so patient and so on her game. I called my jeweler where my rings were and asked if they started the process yet. They hadn't, so I picked up those rings and went back over to Franzetti. I ended up getting the 2 rings redipped and soldered and my other ring sized down all for well under what my jeweler was going to charge me for just the 2 rings getting redipped and soldered. I am so pleased with my results of the rings and I will definitely be going back to get my mom's ring reset. They were all so kind, patient, and their prices were amazing. They are really willing to work with you and I didn't feel taken advantage of in any way (you know that feeling after leaving jewelry stores). I'm a little late on this review but I had my ring taken in to be fixed in early March and Tony was absolutely wonderful! I serendipitously happened upon the store because I was picking up a friend nearby and she asked if we could drop by Franzetti to pick up a ring she had resized. I'd been meaning to have my ring fixed (gold and garnet, the band had cracked on the bottom) so I just dropped it off at the same time because my friend said her family had been going to Franzetti's for a while. I left shortly after for a wedding on the east coast and didn't return to Austin until the weekend before a Tuesday flight back to Shanghai, which is currently home for me. I knew the shop was closed Sunday but I didn't realize it was closed Monday as well, so imagine my panic when I tried picking up my ring the day before an international flight only to find the store was closed! I called the store and left a frantic message, and also sent them a message on Facebook. Later that afternoon, I received a call from Tony saying he'd messaged me back on Facebook but didn't know if I'd seen it yet. He said store policy is to have two people in the store when they open the safe, for security reasons, but he was actually going to be in the store with someone else for the next forty minutes if I was available to swing by. Luckily, I was at nearby so I raced over and was able to get my beautiful, newly fixed AND polished ring from Tony! I'm so, so grateful he went out of his way to make sure I was able to get my ring before I left Austin, and the work was perfect AND barely cost me over $30! I will definitely return for future jewelry needs and absolutely recommend Franzetti's to anyone else.
