The owner, Matt, was quick to respond when I gave the gym a call and provided amazing customer service! He even swung by the gym and introduced himself. Gym is fully equipped with several cardio machines (stairmaster, bikes, treadmills), free weights, benches, turf area, cable machines, resistance machines, two squat racks and much more. In addition, for an extra cost, you can have access to their Recovery Room which has infrared saunas, compression boots for lowerbody (I believe hips too), and massage guns. There are also small lockers that are available for use during your workout. The gym is very clean and all of the equipment is well-maintained. This is my first time at a privately owned gym and I can see why people lean towards em. If you're local, I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out and getting a membership. I will definitely be coming back here anytime I'm up here visiting! Thanks again, Matt!! Other notes if you've made it this far in the review: gym is easy to find, parking wasn't an issue on a Friday morning, music plays in the gym at an appropriate level in case you forget your headphones lol, they have a built-in water dispenser, sanitizer wipes are conveniently placed everywhere throughout the gym and are well-stocked, a lot of natural light coming through the windows, has a lot of other workout equipment that most gyms don't have. There are different areas to work out in depending what you want to do so I tend to stick to some of the same areas. I really like the Body Pump classes. All the ladies are great instructors and it makes lifting more fun with the music. And it is also difficult and get for muscle endurance! They recently added Yoga which is a nice addition for a gym to not have to pay extra from the membership or go to a separate place to get Yoga classes.

She is super professional, greets everyone with a smile and is really helpful. Actually, when I first joined I had several negative interactions with staff (to include a Supervisor), so I have mostly avoided FC Staff. Lately though, my experience has been more positive. I come to many of the Zumba classes with Minette, Sarah and Joy. All are high energy and really fun. I also recently tried the new Hyrox Complete class and loved it.

Today I was invited to check it out so I stepped out of my comfort zone and said yes. Of course it was their recovery day/beginner workout but I did it. Kris was so nice, she kindly corrected my form on some movements without making me feel like a total embarrassment. Plus, it's a 2 minute walk from my work so it makes it easy to drop in for a class. I may or may not go again but now I'm glad to say I've been to the most popular CrossFit gym in Reno. I usually stick to running, yoga, swimming, cycling, walking, and lifting. I came…read morein at 4:30pm on Sunday I saw the only person working there leave before I walked in that's not a problem but having absolutely nothing to wipe down the machines is just lazy every single disposable sanitation wipes was empty. If there is nothing to clean the machines the chances of getting a staph infection increase significantly. Please have either towels for the spay bottles or restock the sanitation wipes before leaving.

As a parent, I am extremely disturbed by what my 13-year-old daughter experienced during her visit…read moreto UFC Gym Reno. She attended one class with a friend who is a member. During that visit, one of the coaches, Javi, made comments that were completely inappropriate for an adult in a position of trust. He told my daughter she "fights like a ghetto Black girl," which is an unacceptable and offensive remark to make to any child. He then had my 13-year-old daughter call me on the phone. During that interaction, he asked her to show him my social media pictures and told her he wanted me to have his babies. I have never met this man in my life. When I gave him no attention, he reportedly told my daughter, "Tell her never mind. She looks like she's an attention-seeking mother." I cannot understand why an adult coach would involve a minor in a personal conversation about her mother or make comments like these to a child. Coaches are supposed to mentor, encourage, and create a safe environment not put children in the middle of inappropriate personal interactions. I sincerely hope UFC Gym Reno takes this complaint seriously and investigates what happened. Parents should be able to trust that their children are in a safe, respectful, and professional environment.

They keep it open late at night and open at 4 a.m. for the visits well before check-out time. There is a sauna, steam rooms for men & women. I have not used them but they get busy as I see good foot traffic. One neat thing that I have not done but guests are able to is that even though you have checked out, you can still use the fitness center & shower in the locker rooms before heading out.

Since we didn't have time for the gym yesterday, my son stopped in and said I had to check it out! Able to get a quick 2.3 miles in.. Very impressed- downside or maybe I'm spoiled (from my regular go to gym with treadmills that have fans.. ).. lol.. More equipment than I thought- I get it's for everyone- but for younger children was a bit different.. Glad to know, and happy to visit! Off to the salon!
