The sign on the store reads "For Those Addicted to Cross Stitch," and there are certainly a lot of cross stitch patterns and supplies, but you can also find needlepoint, hardanger, needlepunch and supplies for other needlework techniques there, too. Not every designer is carried (you would need a HUGE store to accomplish that), but new merchandise comes in frequently, and Barb, the owner, will gladly order anything she doesn't have in the shop. And speaking about Barb, she is one of the friendliest people I've met. She knows all of her customers by name, and I have never seen her in a bad mood. Her staff are equally as friendly. You are always greeted when you come in, and you have only to ask for help, but no one hovers over you. The shop may be a little tricky for first-time shoppers to find. Beacon is a small side street just a couple of blocks west of LaGrange Road, and they are on the second floor--no street-level storefront. It was also nice that we could get lunch and dessert in the same shopping area, making for a nice girls outing without driving all over the place.
