    Order this! Khachapuri. Amazing!

My husband's coworker recommended that we check out this restaurant and I'm so glad he did! Everything we ordered was amazing! We had the khachapuri bread which was filled with cheese and a fried egg. It was delicious and could complement any of their entrees. I had the Spicy Fried Lagman which consisted of thick noodles, beef, and veggies. So good! I would definitely order this again. My husband ordered Steak Shashlik (Steak Kebab) which is grilled marinated steak served with vegetables and one side. He opted for a side of kimchi rice. He loved his order and said he definitely wants to go back soon to try more of their menu. The staff members were super nice and the restaurant was clean and cozy.

Just a lovely gem of a place to visit. Our most favorite thing to eat was the cheese bread appetizer. Oh man was that so good! Everything was just delicious.

My first time trying Uzbek food! Such a unique experience as the cuisine has Russian, Chinese, Persian, and Turkish influences. We got the: - Kachapuri (cheese-filled bread with egg): Must get! Didn't feel overwhelmingly cheesy or rich; the bread soaked up the egg & cheese perfectly. - Spicy Fried Lagman: Another must get! So flavorful & the noodles had great chew. Good amount of veggies & beef. - Mini Kebab Skewers: Not my favorite; didn't seem to have a lot of flavor except for the grilled essence & it was a bit hard to get off the skewers. But the onions on the side provided a refreshing touch. - Nan (Uzbek bread): Can skip this if you get the Kachapuri (it was good- soft/fluffy, but basically the same as Kachapuri without the cheese/egg). Ambiance was good, service was fast & nice, plenty of parking. 8.5/10 would recommend!

Never have I tried Uzbekistan cousine and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Silkroad is what I would describe as a hole in the wall restaurant, the kind that are all too often a hidden gem. Their is a small area of outside seating and about 10 tables for indoor seating. The staff was friendly, however our server seemed a very timid when interacting with us. My wife and I ordered two entrees and an appetizer. My wife ordered the spicy fried Lagman, and I ordered the Lula Shashlik. We had the khachapuri for an appetizer a cheese filled bread boat with fried egg in the center, fresh fluffy and delicious. The flavor in the Lagman was pleasant with a light spice to it, the noodles were quite fat and reminded me of Soba noodles. The meat of the Shashlik was well seasoned and grilled with a slight char. I also added a side of kimchi rice to the mix.

My girl and I went here around 10PM on a Saturday night after a 40-min. drive, and it was our first time tasting Uzbek cuisine. We ordered the 3-piece Beef Samsa as our appetizer, Lagman soup, and the Lamb Chop Shashlik that comes with vegetables and our choice of side: mashed potatoes. Silkroad is a small indoor restaurant with about ten tables that each sits four; 2 tables outdoors. It has traditional ceramic art-like designs on its walls, reminding us of Uzbekistan's unique charm, thriving craftworks, and what it's famous for: a major producer & exporter of cotton. Silkroad's physical menu looks quite as dull as their choices of sides, with minimal amount of photos unlike the menu on its website. Here are our thoughts on what we ordered in Silkroad Uzbek Cuisine: 1. Beef Samsa ($14) - Each order comes with 3 big pieces with diced beef & onion inside the homemade dough with sesame seeds on top. Comes with some kind of tomato sauce. It's fresh with good amount of meat inside, and the sauce adds a marinara-like flavor to each bite. 2. Lagman Soup ($11) - Spiced soup with handmade noodles, minced beef & veggies. Not spicy but flavorful; would order again. My girl enjoyed this as much as I did. 3. Lamb Chop Shashlik ($25) - This is the first time we ordered lamb chops in a restaurant, but definitely won't be the last. Comes with 4 lamb chops with smoky flavor, well-seasoned, tender, and perfectly-cooked. However, the side of mashed potatoes and vegetables are quite lackluster for a $25 dish. The other side choices like fries, white rice, broccoli & Kimchi fried rice are also nothing special. Doesn't Uzbek cuisine have any unique sides that you can't find in a typical American restaurant? We're here to taste something different and all we got was regular mashed potatoes that's not even elevated with garlic or anything that would motivate us to return to order this lamb chops dish again?! Uzbekistan is known for its warm hospitality, and the friendly customer service of the waiter who served us was a good representation of that. The waiter was kind to give an extra side bowl for us to share the soup. We didn't regret trying Uzbek cuisine in Silkroad; it wasn't bad for a $50+ dinner for 2 as it still let us taste the unique flavors of Samsa and Lagman Soup. Lamb chops tasted great but we'd rather get a whole rack with more satisfying sides than pay $25 for half-a-rack & un-authentic sides. This is worth trying at least once. Overall Score: 3.8/5

Food was delicious and authentic. The inside is decorated with traditional Uzbek decor, which made the place feel really authentic. The menu is diverse and includes dishes from nearby cuisines, like Georgian khachapuri and some Russian dishes. Food is also halal.

I had a couple friends highly recommend this restaurant so I'm glad I finally came to try it out! Everything was so flavorful and well cooked. My favorite was the plov - it tasted to hearty and warming. My friends really enjoyed the spicy noodles and borscht, honestly everything we ordered was great and it was a great place for sharing everything. I'm not an expert on Uzbek food but it seemed to be very authentic - you can usually tell this based on the people in the restaurant! For a Sunday night dinner the restaurant was pretty busy but the service was quick and friendly. I'd love to come back some time!

I had a lovely lunch of borscht and khachapuri (bigger than it looks in the photo). The real star, though, was the honey cake -- so delicious. I will be back!

Three of us had our first Uzbek experience Saturday for lunch and it was outstanding! We went in knowing nothing about Uzbek food and although we didn't come out experts in knowledge, we do know everything we had was amazingly fresh and delicious. You can't pinpoint their menu to just one cuisine, they've got a nice blend to choose from. Our choices ranged from Spicy Noodles to Borscht. They tamed the spicy in the noodles for Sis, and she loved the dish. It had beef and veggies in a brown sauce, and those noodles...wow! If they're not handmade in house, they were handmade somewhere nearby. They are thick and chewy and so good. Dad, who has had Borscht in Russia, absolutely loved this version of it. It's loaded with veggies and flavor and he loved running into some surprise beef. One of the biggest hits of the table was surprisingly a simple arugula side salad, lightly dressed, with a few olives, a touch of avocado and parmesan. I had to try the appetizer dish Khachapuri. It is similar to a very flavorful pizza crust, with mozzarella in the center and a baked egg with a runny yoke. Yum! Also enjoyed their eggplant salad on the side. Both dishes were so plentiful, I have leftovers to enjoy. We couldn't resist sharing the Napoleon Cake for dessert. It's so light and not too sweet. Layered puff pastry with cream. No chocolate. The perfect light finish to a perfect meal. This restaurant is in a small strip mall in Cary that is loaded with other businesses, so parking can be a bit tricky, but certainly doable. Super clean, friendly service. If I could ding 'em on anything it would be a lack of drink choices. Iced tea, for instance, is bottled. And you can't beat the prices for this quality and quantity. Can't wait to go back!! And can't recommend them more highly. Even if you have picky eaters with American food tastes, they really do have something for everyone. Including pizza and kebabs.

We are always open to trying new foods, and while in Cary this weekend we decided to check out this place. The waitress was so friendly and offered recommendations since we were unfamiliar with the cuisine. Four of us shared appetizers, a salad, and two entrees. All were delicious! Favorites were the lamb chops and avocado egg rolls, but the khachapuri was also top notch. We finished with honey cake--a dense cake with a creamy icing that wasn't overly sweet. We loved it! We definitely will eat here again!

This is a nice quiet spot with amazing desserts! We ordered the fried barak (delicious), plov (tasted super healthy like a meal made by grandma), spicy fried lagman (noodle dish), While I enjoyed everything, I do feel the noodle dish could use a bit more flavoring (hence why 4 stars out of 5), but their desserts were delicious! I tried the honey cake and the baklava and my husband adored the baklava while I cannot stop eating more of the honey cake despite being full just several minutes prior! I recommend for good prompt service and a great meal!

This family-run store in Cary was a nice surprise to my Saturday lunch. A very well-decorated interior and a pretty decent menu offering for such a small store. The food was great and came out very quickly. To be honest, everything that I ordered I thought tasted great. Each dish was unique in packed with flavor, as well as a solid portion size and very reasonable prices. Great job from a small family-owned business, would come again!

My first time dining here! Food was okay, service was a little spotty. I am gonna give them five stars tho because we weren't ideal patrons. I got the Plov, which was hearty but a little too simple for my tastes. It was literally beef and carrots and rice. The menu said that, but I guess I had been hoping for more vegetables. It was good overall though! Ambiance was nice, kind of a family style restaurant.

We went with the plof and manti. The atmosphere in the restaurant had great holiday decorations amd was very cozy. We had let the staff know ahead of time how many were in our party and I can't say enough good things about how well-prepared they were. We were sat quickly, got our waters and drinks, and they did everything in their power to get our food out as quickly as possible. They did not stop moving the entire two hours we were there. The staff at this place is absolutely amazing. Now, onto the food. They have both an Italian and Uzbek menu. I got the garlic knots, a side salad, and the steak kabobs, and my partner got a side salad and the lasagna. We both were very happy with our food. I really love the garlic knots here. In total we paid a little over $50, which included tip. An amazing experience beginning to end.
