Yum, just yum! I'm happy I've finally made my way to Kebab Skewer, and I'm sorry it took me this long to check it out. This place has got some tasty eats and I'm destined to go back and check out more menu items. For lunch. I grabbed a spicy chicken shawarma wrap, plus the two desserts pictured: homemade ma'amoul and baklava. Delicious! And very inexpensive compared to other restaurants (albeit, the baklava is on the smaller side). The spicy shawarma wrap was moist and consistently flavorful throughout. The bread was tasty and the ratio of ingredients was spot on. The deserts were crumbly (ma'amoul) and flaky (baklava), and sweet. The restaurant itself is a basic spot in a strip mall, geared more towards takeout. Lots of takeout ready for pickup when I was there around noon. The staff was super friendly and inviting, creating a great atmosphere.

Was here for lunch on a weekday . You order at the counter. The menu is overhead and easy to read. You go back to the counter to get your order. There are 8 tables inside and one outside. You will have to pull tables together if there are more than 4 people in your group. I chose the gyro platter. The meat was seasoned well and put on a grill before serving but was not dried out. It was served over a huge portion of basmati rice that was done perfectly. A salad of fresh lettuces, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions was on the side with an unusual dressing and a piece of pita bread that was nice and warm. There was a small cup of taziki that was good. Only bottled tea, so I had water. The tables were clean and the decor was middle eastern. Price was good, so I will be back to try a kabob next time.

Very tasty hummus! The Mediterranean salad was good, dressing was a bit odd but tastey. My fiancé loved the skewers and will definitely be returning.

Great food, good prices. The wait to get our order seemed way too long and we were the only ones in the resturaunt. It was pretty quiet and my friend and I were able to talk without having to fight over other voices. However the food is delicious here so the wait didn't bother me too much and I was not in a hurry. The bathrooms really needed cleaning. There was no toilet paper.

We had a craving for some Mediterranean food and decided to check out a kebab place we hadn't been to yet. I got the Chicken kabob platter which comes with rice, yogurt sauce, a side salad and pita bread. The chicken was very moist and had a good flavor to it. The hubs ordered the beef Koobideh platter. It came with the same sides as mine. He felt that it was just...meh as it really had no flavor. He said that it might as well have been rolled meatloaf for all he knew. Needless to say, he has definitely had much better. We both agreed that the rice was not like any we have had at other Mediterranean restaurants. Neither of us could really put our finger on what was so different about it. The pita bread was very bland and tasted like it was store bought. It wasn't a horrible meal but it also wasn't the best meal we have had.

We picked an order time, placed our order online for carryout and it was ready when we arrived. It was the single skewer kebab platter with a chicken skewer for me and the double skewer kebab sandwich with a beef kofta and beef koobideh skewer for my husband. We also split a side order of hummus with pita, a side order of falafel and a piece of baklava. The food was good for a quick, cheap Mediterranean option.

I can't imagine that they get too many people who say "No rice and no bread" because that seems to be the only sides they were offering this evening, but I'm still doing my keto diet so those don't work. But the gent working the counter offered "extra salad" and that was perfectly okay for me. What was brought to my table was a beautifully laid out platter with a chicken kebab and a lovely arrangement of mixed lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes and onions. Pretty to look at and absolutely delicious. A lovely meal! Definitely a good dinner at Kebab Skewer! [Review 12432 overall, 2220 of 2019.]

Inside, it was relatively austere, but the seats were very comfy! You order and pay at the counter and then they deliver your food to your table - I'm a fan of this setup because I can leave quickly and not have to wait for the server to give me the check :) It took maybe ~15 minutes to get our food, but it was piping hot and fresh when it arrived. It was so tasty! My wife and I split the Goat Karahi, which came with "two naan bread" (those naan must be huge, because it seemed more like five naan bread to us!) in a separate basket. The goat was flavorful and the sauce was delicious. The naan were fluffy and tasted really good too. The staff were nice and helpful throughout the meal. This will definitely be one of our new lunch spots, and I'm excited to come back!

Let's just say it was a good surprise :-) Location is tucked away in a shopping center In a corner store front ... so if you dont look for it... you'll miss it .. So went inside and was greeted my a nice smiling gentleman behind the counter and place is very clean and simple. The gentleman behind the counter was very accommodating and helped with explaining the menu which is a small no frills menu which is a good thing .. Orders the mixed platter with an order of Naan.. Was told to have a seat and he would bring it out and to enjoy a complimentary cup of tea (green tea) ... i was disappointed it wasn't the traditional Rose tea that I am used to at other Afghani Kebob joints but it was ok ... The food came out pretty quick and looked simple and delicious.. The chicken was flavorful and moist .. just needed a lil bit more sumac and a pinch of salt .. The Naan is your basic Naan so nothing to share there.. Overall a good experience with no frills and thrills kebobs... Definitely will come back and try another dish ... Time to now find a place that serves beef Paya. Like I was used to from Kabob Palace back in Arlington VA :-)

The chicken shish kabob and lamb kabob were both flavorful and cooked well. Those were definitely the highlights of the meal. The disappointing part was that they were already out of the Doner plate by 2:30 p.m., even though we came for dinner service. It was frustrating because that's one of the main dishes people go there for. What really stopped me from giving this place a higher rating was the condition of the men's bathroom. It was pretty gross, with visible mold and a wet towel on the floor that looked like it was there because of a leaking toilet. A lot of people say the bathroom reflects how clean the restaurant is overall, and honestly that crossed my mind while eating there. The food and service were good, but the restaurant really needs to improve the cleanliness and do a better job keeping popular menu items available.

The only slight qualm I had this time was the wait times. In my opinion food trucks are supposed to be fairly quick, especially when there appears to be not much of a rush. Took them almost half an hour to prepare my gyro, after they said it would take 10-15 minutes. Service is very friendly, and as quick as possible, considering that stuff seems to be made to order. I ordered a chicken kebab platter which comes over a bed of basmati rice, possibly with saffron. "Bodega-like Mediterranean Grill & Grocery in Parkwood area of Durham"…read more This place is WAY off the beaten path for most, but I'm so happy to have gotten to try it out. Nestled in a little strip between a Muslim school and a mosque is this grill and grocery. We came on a Wednesday evening, and almost every table was already taken by diners. You order your food at a counter, and it has the Middle Eastern foods you'd expect-- kofta, shawarma, gyros, falafel, baba ghanouj, hummus, baklava, etc. I opted for the lamb gyro sandwich with a side of baba ghanouj, and my dining partner had the falafel sandwich. They call your number when it's ready. Food took maybe 10 minutes to receive, so we browsed the market area. It's not a huge selection, but very traditional-- nice seeing so many labels in Arabic, and along with standards (e.g., canned fava beans for Ful Medames), they also had things like frozen chopped mulukhiyah leaves-- that's definitely a rarer sight. Lots of good spices too. The food was EXCELLENT. The lamb was juicy and perfect (unlike what another Yelp review said), the tzatziki sauce was delicious, and the baba ghanouj was perfectly cooked and textured. I had a small bite of the falafel, and it was indeed one of the best I've had in the US. Price was fair, too-- the sandwiches are all under $10 before tax and tip, and making it a combo with side and drink cost just something like $2.50. And service was friendly-- although they called out numbers, they did walk out with the food to try to find and bring you your dishes. And while it was an older space, it was overall still generally clean. Overall, I'd VERY happily come back.
