Anytime I am in Cody visiting family was always head to the Silver Dollar. They have the best burgers in Cody. I am especially partial to the black and bleu burger, which my aunt and I usually split with some onion rings on the side. I had originally came here on a geology trip back in 2008 and this year I happily made my return on June 24, 2011. Once again my brother Chris and myself drove on a geology trip for Pasadena City College. This was day 7 of a 13 day field trip and today we first did laundry in Cody and then we had about 3 hours of free time to spend in Cody. The two instructors (Bryan and Martha) of the field class plus my brother and myself decided to eat at the Silver Dollar for dinner. Now Bryan, Chris and myself were hungry as bears so the three of us ordered the $12 Silver Dollar Burger. This burger comes with a full pound of meat. Two patties, bacon, your cheese of choose, toppings of choose. I ordered my burger with grilled onions, pepper jack cheese and jalapenos. The burger came with fries. This burger was a beast and it's made with prime cut ground meat. I had to cut my burger in half before I could start eating it. The prime meat really made a difference and was very juicy and packed with flavor. I think they make their own fries because they look and taste homemade. Not greasy. Believe it or not the three of us ate all of our burgers and fries. Martha order the half pound burger. This is a great place to come to for lunch. They have pool tables and a full bar. On the window of the bar it reads "The best burgers in the west" and to tell you the truth I can't disagree. read more

We absolutely loved this place. Stopped in for an early dinner while we were traveling to Yellowstone. We sat outside in the courtyard (highly recommended) on a beautiful day. Our waitress was great; prompt, courteous and very helpful. She recommended the burgers and the cod. I tried the Cod fillet and chips. Outrageous! Perfectly cooked and good quality fish. We also had several burgers and everyone really enjoyed their meals. Try the Fire Burger. They have a large and local beer selection which rounded out a great experience. Service was a little slow, it took a quite a few minutes for staff to wait on us, and to check on us after food was served. We sat outside on their patio, cool atmosphere and it's right on the main drag so interesting to watch the people/traffic go by. I had the mushroom swiss burger with ff, hubby had wings. Just great. Because we were with my underage daughter, we sat in the courtyard outside, but that was super fun anyways. Beer is wonderful everywhere, here as well. But the burgers were extraordinary. My wife got a cheese burger and she loved it (dies not ordinarily order burgers), but my Black and Blue burger was amazing. Blackened seasoning on a perfectly cooked burger with blue cheese crumbles!! Tasty! But I also had the best onion rings ever here. So when we sat ourselves, as is apparently the custom there, and didn't even get greeted for literally 20 minutes I approached the bar and asked if we were going to get service. One of the few games in town. Have to drink somewhere though and the silver dollar is a good place. Locals too so you know it's "authentic?" Always end up here in town for work blowing off steam. What a great place! This is one of my favorite bars in Cody. Our server was very prompt and friendly, my beer glass was never empty without a new one standing by. She recommended a regional brew to me that I'd never had (I forget the name at the moment) and when I took the first sip I found that she got my taste in beer down perfectly -- it was exactly what I was looking for. The burgers are big and delicious, one of the top burgers I've had. The bar also has a spacious back room with pool tables, air hockey, and other games. Oh Silver Dollar how I dream of you while I'm home in San Diego! Every year we make sure to get a burger or two here! It's no frills and no fuss but the food is dang good and the beer is cheap! Sometimes there's love music! Kid friendly on the patio. Do yourself a huuuuugggeeee favor and get the onion rings instead of the fries. Fries are lacking but the onion rings are perfection! We stopped in one night for a quicker dinner and a few drinks. I got a burger and fries - very high quality. Large and juicy burger with a generous portion of fries. Eventually we were greeted by a lovely waitress who advised it would be an hour and a half before we got our food.
