Came here for dinner. The staff is friendly, Wade who served us was great! Cute place in a great location in downtown Cody. If you get a seat that faces out to the street you can people watch while enjoying small bites and drinks. The bacon cheese tater tots are incredible. The nacho cheese dip is addictive - very reminiscent of the nacho cheese you get at ballparks, but has a nice heat with the chilis in them. Get these, it's worth it! The chicken wings come in a dry rub and where a tad on the small side, compared to other places in Cody that we also ordered wings at. If you are hankering for wings, see my other reviews. Not sure if we just ended up at the wrong table, but we were seated at a four-top right by the door. After being brought water, we were completely ignored for about 20 minutes. We finally had to flag someone down to take our order. By that point, our son was starving, so we decided to order just one meal to see if the service would improve. He ordered the "Lobstah Roll" with a side of butter. What arrived was more like a cold seafood salad on a roll, along with a side of cold butter. Had he known that's what it was, he definitely wouldn't have ordered it. We weren't expecting an authentic Maine lobster roll, but if you're going to spell it "Lobstah," there are certain expectations--and this wasn't close. At some point, our original server seemed to realize she had forgotten about us, but the service never recovered. No one checked on us, offered refills, or asked if we wanted anything else. When we were ready to leave, we literally had to hold our credit card up to get someone's attention so we could pay and get out of there. Ironically, the moment we left, two employees immediately appeared to clear the table. The funny thing is that we saw other tables receiving great service throughout our visit. So this place was actually a really pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is super fun and the wait staff was fantastic. I had the steak sandwich and I'm not sure what they marinated the steak in, but it was super tender and flavorful and the aju very good. The fries would probably not be my pick again. One of our table mates got the same thing that I did, but they got a salad and it actually looked delicious. We also had the green chili chicken dish - the sauce and the chicken were delicious, but the rice lacked a little bit of something not sure what. Wheelchair accessibility- There are a couple of accessible tables. They had two single stall bathrooms that were both accessible, the doors weren't too heavy, and we had no issues getting in the restaurant at all. There's parking close by. We were unable to find accessible parking, but were able to locate a space that worked for us. read more

Friendly staff and bartenders and has a great menu. Spicy margarita and a dark Mexican larger on tap were both great. Be ready to wait for a table but well worth it. Our first night in Cody and we popped in here for dinner. The first win of the night was Guinness on tap that included a shamrock in the head. It hit perfectly after a long day of driving and a hot day. We started with the fried jerky. It was really more seasoned/marinated beef cubes with extra seasoning on top. If I had known how good this would be, I would have made it my main. Man was this good. Super tender beef, wreally delish and slightly spicy. For my actual "main," I did 6 chicken wings with salt and vinegar seasoning and a side salad with blood orange vinaigrette. Solid wings and that blood orange dressing was sooo good. I mentioned this to the server and her reply was just a shrug. Scrawny Wings. My wife asked whether it was literally possible to find such small wings. They were tasty, just not much to them. $10 for six tiny wings seems a little wrong. On a work trip to look for a new office location and found this gem right on the Main Street in Cody. Sat at the bar. The cocktail list was amazing and rivals a "big" city offering with sophisticated flavors and style. Bartenders were friendly and gave recommendations for other places to check out while I was in town. I had the wonton nachos. They were light and crispy with a good mix of toppings. Stumbled upon Blanca Tatanka while visiting Cody and is by far one of the best restaurants here. Because I came during their soft opening the menu was pretty limited, but everything looked amazing. I ordered the Speed Goat draft beer and lemon pepper wings (pro tip: ask for a side of hot sauce!!). Best wings I've ever had in my life. And I've had a lot of wings. Our server Jenny was amazing as well!! She was super sweet and fun. Overall, Blanca Tatanka has an awesome, trendy vibe. Love the modern light fixtures, large wooden tables, and garage doors. The Buffalo wants to be an up scale place on the Cody foodie scene BUT.... It has some work to do. The menu is weird. Hard to find something to eat that ya would know what to expect. The coarser salad is a joke in itself. Pricey for Walmart Mozzetta l cheese and sliced cherry tomatoes. Not impressed at all The hostess host were rude. Actually avoided me when I walked in alone as I was meeting my friends there and I was tad early the place was too hot even with the doors open it was miserable. I would Imagine it will be cold in the winter. The bar tender seemed knowledgeable made a good whiskey sour ... the table we were seated at had the top wiped off but the sides were disgusting sticky and grimey. When the food came it was not enough and I am not a big eater and I left hungry and broke. Over priced, lack of knowledge from the chef, wait staff is rude and inattentive. I suppose this place has potential as they really wanna be a snobby bar but they are like not even close to the caliber they are charging for what they serve. Location is great, and the place has potential but they have a long ways to go. I think I would try for Cody Steak house instead . read more

Wow. A menu for everyone and a delight to eat here with my family. Get there early or you might have a wait.

The food was delicious. Our group had the wagyu sliders, crab cakes and wonton nachos. Everything was great.

So this place is cool. It's the type of place that if I was a local, I would want to make my local go to. That being said, the food execution is inconsistent and the menu is seeking some sort of identity. Our party went there twice this week. The first time my wife and her cousin went, raved about the Bloody Mary Deviled Eggs and the Rueben. My wife insisted to revisit with the larger group which is what we did. The sweet potato fries were limp, soggy and had no crisp. Now my 86 year old MIL with dentures liked them like that but I dare say the majority of others with teeth, like some crisp and texture. The BM Deviled Eggs were great, what a deviled egg should be, and the Bloody Mary twist is a nice touch. The potstickers were outstanding, best bite of the night. Thin wrapper, crispy bottom, great oriental filling flavor and the dipping sauce has a deceptive kick. The mains, the chicken sandwich was overpowered by the mango chutney which was cloyingly sweet and it was too heavy handed. The steak sandwich was okay, nothing earth shattering but the disappointment of the night was the Bacon and Crab meat pizza with Old Bay. If a pizza only has two ingredients, they should be at the forefront. The bacon was non existent, and I had to ask for more. The amount of crab was passable, the Old Bay non existent. What sunk this was the amount of cheese, what seemed like a 1/4 inch. It meant the pizza crust was still raw because the bottom and top cooked too quickly for the entire pizza crust to cook. I would have thought a thin crust with less cheese and sauce, more bacon and more crab would have done the concept justice. As far as identity, the menu has some adventurous items but they are too few before the menu retreats to American Bar Classics. Instead of a shrimp cocktail, how about tempura shrimp with wasabi aioli. Instead of a Steak Sandwich, how about a lemongrass beef bah mi with picked vegetables? How about a chicken curry with roti? I applaud the innovation on the menu, but would like to see more of it. I only come to Cody once a year, I hope when I come back again this place is still in business. Slim pickings on a Monday night in Cody. We planned to go to a steak house that was supposed to be open but wasn't. Happened to walk by Blanca Tatanka and decided to give it a shot. Sometimes you just get lucky. Big city look in little old Cody. No seats at the bar so we settled for the last table available. Watched a single server work the entire small restaurant and patio with a little help from the bartender running food and drinks. He did a great job! With a little patience, acknowledging that he was the only server, it was a very nice dining experience. Menu is limited but the three items we selected were awesome. DO NOT MISS the wonton nachos. Wontons covered in BBQ sauce, brisket and cheese. WOW! Ordered half Lemon pepper and half salt & vinegar chicken wings. Some of the best chicken wings I've ever had. The three sliders (Wagyu covered in caramelized onions, goat cheese and bacon jam) were exceptional. We ordered too much food but took the leftovers back with us. Completely unexpected. The attraction is the "trendy" appearance. The space is well designed and appealing. THAT is where the "appeal" ends. The menu is a mystery to me as it is short, limited and does not quite know what it wants to be. I ordered a Mojito cocktail, as very very few places even attempt them. The Blanca did a good job with it. I ordered two. Nothing on their menu was remotely appealing to me except for the Caprese salad. I've had Caprese all over the nation and in Italy (a lot). What the Blanca made was not even close to a Caprese salad. It was a tiny bowl of cubed, almost-mozzarella cheese infused with herbs, halved grape tomatoes (about 6 halves), some basil and balsamic vinigrette. I consider it an insult. A 7-th grader could have and would have done better. The Host and Hostess (at least they appeared to be of that role) are not welcoming. not even a little bit. The blonde guy looked at my arrival and turned away to bus a table. The woman made zero eye contact and told me to grab any open seat. The kitchen is slower than up-hill molasses, as is the bar. My waitress was very unrefined. When you charge as much as this place does, I expect things to be right, be good, be more refined than the Wendy's across the street. Came here on a Wednesday night for dinner. Ambiance was nice and the staff were very attentive and kind. We ordered, Steal Sandwich : More onions than steak and the meat isn't sliced as advertised. I was expecting something similar to a french dip but was very wrong. The sandwich is onions cheese and cubed steak on a soft un-toasted bun. It had almost no flavor and was very chewy. Chicken Wings : Each wing was smaller than my thumb. The veggies that came with it were brown and wilted. Juicy and the seasoning was good but for $15 we were expecting more than 6 tiny wings. Spinach Salad : Found several moldy pieces of spinach and decided to just not eat it. The chicken was very good but it was $7 which was not worth it for a couple pieces of sliced chicken. Sliders : The best thing we had. Patties we moist and the sauces and seasonings were really good. Again, very expensive but this was the only plate that was empty at the end of our meal. Our meal came out to around $90 with drinks but we all left hungry and disappointed. Overall, this place was fine but nowhere near good. Food was amazing!! We started with the fried jerky which was tender and very tasty. It is served with a hot honey that is just the right amount of spicy. My wife got the waygu sliders and they were so juicy and packed with flavor. I got the lobster roll which was amazing as well. Only thing I would change is the roll could be cut differently to help make it easier to eat. All of the food and service was a 10 out of 10 regardless. If we ever go back to visit Cody, WY we will stop there again. read more
