The service was some of the best bar/food service I've ever gotten, super friendly and great pours, great recommendations! As far as the ambiance goes, it's super cozy yet lively at the same time with a nice log cabin type vibe. The outside could use just a bit of work, specifically with the sign. Aside from that, can't say it needs anything else! Lastly, as far as the food goes, it was super fresh, well seasoned and delicious at a reasonable price! Chicken tenders were over- fried and tasted burnt Tonight- the place was packed and servers were working g their tails off but the kitchen was the main disappointment My son' Philly dip roll was burnt and I mean charcoal black burnt - inedible!! My 'wet burrito' was bad, simply bad. Hardly any 'beef', a pile of cold diced tomatoes, a thimble awful salsa and barely any enchilada sauce to call this a wet burrito! We have a cottage near the restaurant that we frequent while riding the trails. In the last year, we have stopped multiple times during open hours to find the place closed a couple hours before advertised closing. This past week, we stopped in Tuesday at 7:45 only for them to tell us and several others they have 6 groups in front of us and it will be an 1 1/2 hour wait even though there were at least 4 tables empty and nobody waiting. Friday night, my wife and I along with two other couples stopped in at 8:30 only for them to again tell us we cant be seated and to come back tomorrow when the restaurant was just over half full. My wife made a comment about this experience on one of their Facebook posts in hopes it will change things. Tonight was the final straw...I am not giving the "Dollar" another chance! We arrived at 6:30, didn't get a visit by a server until 6:55 (after watching two servers debate who was going to serve our table) and upon arrival, she casually mentioned that any pizza would take an hour! Two tables seated after us already had drinks. This is the latest disappointment at the Dollar, the last time e were told it was a three hour wait even though 4-6 tables were open, another time we arrived at 8:45 but were told the kitchen was closed, finally my favorite was the time we arrived and were advised that the kitchen was too hot to prepare any food! We make every effort to support local restaurants (especially in the winter) and our expectations are aligned with bar food, but we will make the drive to a different location from now on! read more

The reason for the 3 stars was because an elderly blonde server was not happy to be there and while not our waitress impacted our dinner. As a server myself I have never once experienced or seen another server act the way these three workers there did last night when me and my friends went in for a few drinks. My family and I have been coming to the Silver Dollar for years. We've watched it change from different management a few times. The service here makes you feel like you're family, and we've made some lasting friendships over the years here at the Silver Dollar. They have a back patio that can be rented out, and my cousin had a nice wedding reception here. There bar is great and they have many different beers in draft as well. They make excellent pizza and have various specials throughout the week that are worth checking out. It's fun coming in and controlling the music from time to time with their AMI jukebox. They can get really busy, but it's worth the wait for this hometown bar. read more

The staff is incredibly rude I will never be back there. My friends and I went with the intention to watch the game and get a couple rounds of drinks but we got the bill as soon as possible. Our party showed up and they told us that the kitchen closed in 3 minutes with the attitude like they wanted us to leave. We assured them that we were just there for drinks and we were sat, but I wish we weren't. We had a group of 21-23 year olds and our first interaction with staff was with a waitress who asked/yelled "Are you guys 21 with real ID's?" We were all of age so it was super off-putting and condescending. They had a problem with my friend's Ohio ID who was 23 years old and almost didn't serve him. My other friend ordered a beer and the waitress went and sat in the corner and counted receipts before getting his beer. My friends bought pull tabs and went to the bar to cash them out where the bar tender told them that she was "too busy to cash them out" and made them wait while everyone at the bar already had drinks. While my friends were patiently waiting there she told them to their face that they were "rude" for staying at the bar after she told them she was "too busy" even though bar chairs were open and they were sitting in them. We were told that our table of 6 could only have one tab for the entire table, then we cashed out the waitress asked us if we were cashing out on one tab? I'm not sure what that was about but we weren't given a choice then were asked if we were cashing out on one tab. Every interaction with staff was negative and I've literally never been treated like that or had such a horrible experience in a restaurant before - 0/10 experience, find better staff. read more

This place has went downhill 100 percent. They use to have great food and service . None of us were happy - the food was absolutely horrid . The staff - even worse . Aside from two polite ones. You need to get rid of the "dude" behind the bar with the unpleasant attitude, who also cannot make a drink- the waitress didn't know her beer list - or salad dressings not that anyone ever ate their food. Worst restaurant ever! Waited 1 hour to get in then when we did get in got sat in a dark corner near the custodian closet the waitress didn't introduce herself, forgot my husbands drink , didn't apologize for not having a item on the menu and took a hour to bring our food. We had a 7 yr old who had to be out at 9:00pm. My husband asked her where our food was an she said it would be another 1/2 hour then my husband was about to get up an leave an within 2 minutes the food came an seemed that seemed very weird . I hadn't been there in years because the last experience was so bad. I just left and I had the Italian melt sandwich that was probably one of the worst restaurant sandwiches I've ever had. The meat consisted of two pieces of pepperoni, and if there is cheese, I couldn't find it. Also it wasn't even Warm so I'm not sure why it was called the melt. Never ever again. This place has opened and closed more than a couple times in my lifetime. My last visit was crazy. Maybe train staff before you let them loose on the floor. Waitress was not helpful and dismissive over drink questions. Food was only ok. We tipped her 20% only because I used to waitress. She didn't deserve it. We used to go to the dollar frequently before Covid so we thought we'd try it again. ABSOLUTLEY worst food and service. we paid $58 for 2 burgers, one order of fries and half an order of onion rings and 3 beers. The burgers were FROZEN burger patties for $12 and $14 dollars and the beers were served in plastic disposable cups. The food came out fast but who cares when it's the bottom of the barrel quality. I've lived in Roscommon about four years now and somehow have never been to this place up until a couple of weeks ago. My mom and I decided to go and give them a try for lunch and we had a amazing experience. This place is closer to North Higgins State Park then south and has a private gravel parking lot... The inside is very spacious and a combination of rustic and traditional when it comes to the bar vibe in the area. There's a large linear bar along the back wall with lots of seating and also tables throughout the space... Bathrooms are newly renovated and have been clean both times I visited. They have a few arcade games, scratch off lottery and Keno. Also a digital juke box. The staff also is super nice and very hard-working I had great experiences with my mother for lunch and my husband last night for dinner. We did have an experience in between these two moments where we attempted to go to dinner but it was so busy that there was an over hour wait. And also they were over capacity so we were unable to drink a beer while we waited... We understood they were busy and they apologized for the inconvenience but we ended up leaving because typically if we're going to wait that long we want to at least be able to have a beer while we do so not their fault but just mentioning because this place does get very busy very quickly during peak season and I believe on weekends. My mom and I shared wings and an Italian sub with onion rings... We told the waitress that we were sharing them and she took it upon herself to have the kitchen put them on two separate plates to make it easier for us which was really sweet of her also when our wings arrived she noticed that the sauce was not what we ordered and had them fix it right away before we even had any idea it had happened. They do have a digital menu up on the bar facing the tables that shows you all the beer they have on tap as well as specialty mixed drinks. Erica behind the bar kicks ass! But honestly Erica kicks ass everywhere she works. Last night my husband and I sat at the bar.. we were told that it would be about a half hour wait but we ended up being able to get in within five minutes... We both got a burger and shared wings everything was delicious. Pricing is good. Portions are generous. LOVE this place. Went in for dinner alone and I waited for about ten minutes to be waited on, the server was too busy standing at the bar 15 feet away from me talking to the bar tender and a female patron sitting at the bar. They were talking loud and using foul language (not kid friendly). The food is mediocre, had a burger and a beer. The atmosphere is sterile, no character. For a log cabin bar it was brightly light and had no "up-north" feel to it. May as well have been in a high school cafeteria with beer advertising on the walls.
