We arrived on a busy rainy Saturday night and the place was packed. We were quickly seated as there was 1 table that still was available. We were with another couple. 2 people in our party order Nachos with beef. They both liked them a lot both needed extra salsa though as what was provided was minimal. The sour cream was in a push out packet. The nachos were good but not great. I had the mushroom Swiss burger which was good and filling. The fries which were a 99 cent up charge was poor. They tasted old and dried out. The other person had a beef burrito and he loved it. The service was good. The waitress was busy but still was able to meet our needs. This place shuts down their keno with the exception of self serve during their busy hours so if you like keno... be prepared to get your own. We would go back here when we are up again. We have eaten here 4 different times in the last 2 years when we visit the area. The last time was the 'last time'. Our waitress took our order and all was well, she brought out 3 meals to a table of 4 people and walk away. Ah Hello? She didn't say anything or come back. After 15 minutes we flagged down the bus boy and asked if he could check on the other meal. They didn't know what we were talking about. They rushed a meal for him but in the mean time she never refilled our drinks, brought catsup or salad dressing to our table or acknowledged the error. Later we had to request our bills. Two couples = two bills not so unusual but she used our cash to pay the other couples bill and vise versa. We had to sort it out ourselves. Also no discount for forgetting one meal and one person waiting an extra 30 minutes for food also no apology. The food is fine but service poor. read more

Well, to be honest we wanted to eat here sooner during our trip to Higgins lake but avoided this restaurant because of the most recent reviews. We took the risk and this is my family's opinion. I'm not sure if you can get more non local/outsiders than we are, I'm active duty military and my truck has New Mexico plates so the tire slashing thing bothered me. We walked into a sign basically saying seat yourself. We found a table for me, my wife, and our daughter. We were greeted by a nice lady who gave us menu's and said she would be back shortly for drinks and our order. The wife and I got the chicken basket with fries and a side of ranch and my daughter got the Hawaiian style pizza. The chicken baskets were both great (no Chick-fil-A but still good). My daughter (10 years old) said her pizza was in her top 5. I tried her pizza and I thought it was very good and cheesy! We ordered a silver dollar Supreme pizza to go for dinner. Over all we feel this establishment deserves to be judged by ones own experience. After we cashed out I was delighted to see my truck tires had not been slashed . We had our pizza for dinner and the wife really liked the pizza. Cash only establishment. So surprised by this hidden gem! Walked in on a Saturday as a party of 4, a few minutes before noon. A large group of 6 guys (already doing tequila shots - good for them!!) had just walked in, along with several families. Our server (I think her name was Shelly) looked to be the only front of house personnel, but she did an excellent job of managing expectations and getting things out reasonably on time. The cowboy burger and patty melt were delicious. The bean burger lacked fun toppings, and the chicken tenders were fine. Decent but limited beer list. Shelly was literally running the entire time. Having been in the industry in a past life, I can appreciate when someone is truly busy and doing a good job and keeping an entire dining room of guests happy and fed. We were told we could sit by the dance floor to wait and was given a buzzer. We waits 20 min for a table a table opened up and the host without even looking at the book or setting my buzzer off sat the table the walked in after us down with only 2 people. Ive Been going to the silver dollar for 25 years and have not been happy with the new owner/management.. the service has been poor and some of the waitresses have been persistently rude. The biggest disappointment though, are the drinks. Not only are they much more expensive, but are horrible. Could barely taste the alcohol in my short drink. Definitely feeling ripped off. We came in on a Wednesday around 3:00. The place was practically empty. Maybe four people at the bar. I ordered the Cowboy Burger and my girlfriend ordered 12 boneless wings. Went there for their advertised euchre night ($10/person). Online post said (and others who had been there confirmed) that complementary snacks would be served. Sign at entrance said same thing. Right before they were set to begin at 7 pm, the manager went to both signs (at entrance to place and entrance to room) and erased the "complimentary snacks" from signs. I'm usually a once a year visitor to the Silver Dollar during Deer Season. I live in Los Angeles but spend the opening week of the season in Roscommon. We spent the evening here after the opening day hunt. There was a decent crowd after a buck pole contest. The menu was similar to previous visits under different ownership. Our table had a variety of different foods. I personally had the chicken burrito. It was delicious and a very generous portion. I heard the nachos were great, and also huge. The chicken, bacon wrap was liked, and so were the chicken finger baskets. A well cocktail was only $2.50, crazy cheap. The service was polite, professional and friendly...just a little bit slow. My wife and I used to like riding our motorcycle here for dinner because the boneless wings were good. BUT the last time we were there, there was an earwig in my straw, and since they use black straws (all unwrapped in a tub behind the bar), it made it into my mouth when I took my first drink. I've been here twice. Bad service both times. Bad food once and mediocre food the other time. The waitress over-charged me on my bill. We went to the Silver Dollar last night for dinner. One of the hottest nights this summer. Their air conditioning was not working. It was unbearable. The waitress told us that the manager won't get it fixed. She then mentioned they need a new manager. We quit going there for quite some time as the food had gotten so bad. This is the second time in probably a year that we've been there. Fortunately they must have a new chef as the food is much better. However, having no air conditioning in the summer is unacceptable. My husband and I live local and like to give back to the community. Have had mediocre experiences with the Silver Dollar. Last night, we thought we'd give it another try. 1. East side ramp leading into restaurant was very icy and appeared to NOT have been salted. One of us slipped, but didn't fall. This could have been a lot worse than what it was. Lighting was not good either. 2. Took over an hour to get our food for a table of 4 3. Our chicken strip basket came 15 minutes after our dinner guests as waitress dropped our food. 4. Price of chicken strip basket is $9.99. Our chicken strip basket only had 4 small strips and only a handful of fries 5. Took an additional 20 minutes to get our bill and cash out 6. Since coming to the restaurant we have never been asked by an Owner or Manager how our visit went 7. The last 3-4 visits to the Silver Dollar have resulted in poor service with long waits to take the order and/or to get food 8. Not 1 time during these visits with poor service have we been "comped" with any kind of discount off the bill or provided a gift card for our next visit As a year round resident to Roscommon, one would think they would treat their customers a bit better or get to know us.
