Guilin noodle soup with beef brisket

Delicious and fast lunch from this place again. The noodle soup was a great portion and I loved all the pickled veg that gives this soup extra flavour. Their chili oil is a must try with crunchy garlic bits. The Cantonese chow mien was saucy and yummy with lots of meat and veg to go around as well. At $24, this type of meal is what keeps me coming back. See ya next time!

I discovered Silver Fountain during the summer from their competitors Great Fountain's advertisement from Blog TO and Instagram. I had a feeling Great Fountain was only popular because they paid for advertisement so I decided to do a test. Every time when I buy take out, I would always buy the same chow mein from both vendor at the same time because I wanted to find out who cooks it the best! And every single time Silver Fountain's dish was so much better then Great Fountain. The way Silver Fountain cooks their food is so much more flavorful and they have good take containers too.

It's a lazy Sunday afternoon on the cusp of Hallowe'en so cooking was not in the cards. Time to return to the Dynasty Centre Mall & Food Court my friend recently took me to and sprung for lunch. This time it was with my sweetie in tow so she'd know where to go for a value meal. Well, my better half had a craving for Cantonese Chow Mein and this venue was in the same food court. Now, if you can't speak Chinese, then just point to one or more of the hundred food photos. The friendly lady will be more than happy to ring up the order. She encouraged us to take a paper menu and call ahead for takeout to minimize the wait. The $8.50 item we chose was actually called Seafood Chow Mein here and it came with a beverage of Lemon Iced-Tea, Soya milk or Milk Tea. Service was fast. Cash is King! Overall: There was a good mixture of seafood, meat and broccoli. The noodles with sauce were crunchy; our preference rather than soft quick-boiled noodles. My sweetie loved the Lemon Iced-Tea which included 4 slices of real lemon. There you have it. Would both of us order from here again? Absolutely.

More 2.5 was in the area and looking for a quick bite. Hk garden was closed so went into food court and stumble onto this. For 6.00 the quantity was a little anemic. The few peices of beef were ok, not rock your socks off great. The noodles were off. Seemed to have started the fermentation process early. Had the beef and drink (it's ok again).

She hasn't aged a day and she remembered some of my dietary concerns so that was amazing. She also offered options to the dishes which is great for a small takeout place. Ordered chow mien, general Tso chicken and a mixed tofu dish. This place is more than home cooking, it is restaurant quality dishes without a big price tag. The service is fantastic because she is nice and the food comes out quickly. Glad she has wanted to return and has the passion to share with the local community. The tofu is decently tender, small pieces of minced pork and a savory spicy sauce on a whole container of rice. 4.5/5. Eggplant with minced pork in spicy sauce on rice. The flavor on this is on point with a nice sweet and hint of spicy sauces. Eggplant is cooked well as is the meat. Sits on a giant bed of rice. 4/5 Rice noodles with sliced pork. The rice noodles are cooked well and the sliced pork is incredibly tender. There's bean sprouts and onions and green onions though I feel the onions may have been a tad undercooked. Still for the amount of food and flavor, it's great. 5/5. Price: Each dish came in around 6-7$ which is crazy cheap considering the amount of food you get. Don't expect any super high quality ingredients but this is your cheap and quick takeout that will fill you up.

This place has some negative energy vibes. If you're a sensitive person, you might pick up tingly sensations while dining here. Also if you use the washroom like I did, you might pick up on some weird energy in there too. You may feel like you are not alone even if you are the only one in the washroom. If you are a psychic, check out the place for yourself, you might know what I mean. I don't know how long this restaurant has been around but it could benefit from some energy clearing or uplifting music to drive away whatever may be lingering. As I said food is A++ and thats why the customers seem happy and keep coming back, but I wouldn't come back here again unless the owners do some energy clearing work. Sharing this not to scare people off but to encourage the restaurant to periodically cleanse the energetic space to attract more customers. As I said the food is very good.

The decor is refreshed and modern and the service was good for a Chinese restaurant, however I felt the menu was a bit confusing. The veggie dish with flounder was especially odd to me - super fishy and pungent but not in a good way. Overall I could give Dragon View another try, but maybe a pre-set menu for a larger group. Their set menus did seem quite expensive which is why we ordered à la carte. The à la carte menu was priced very reasonably.

Unfortunately it seems stuck in the old ages and has since built itself a reputation of being dingy and serving poorer quality food. With so many other better Chinese restaurants having opened since and Chinese people being notorious for flocking to where better food is, I wonder how much longer this establishment can survive. Nevertheless, it is handy to have this 24-hour option located in the middle of Scarborough and they do have a fairly large selection of dim sum and dinner options served throughout the day. Having been here for dinner and lunch, I would say that the dinner plates are better overall, such as the lobster being decent. In general though, this restaurant is a far cry from perfect, and is more like a cheap and somewhat cheerful cultural legacy that has lots of seating, lots of history, but underwhelming food.
