Before I begin, may I first say that I have worked in rehab facilities as a CNA long, long ago. My father had The Misfortune to be placed there for a short time this year. Per my mother, he experienced consistently cold food, was "cared for" by disorganized staff, and often missed meals because of a high degree of either apathy, incompetence, or lack of support among the staff. One physician who was charged with his care seemed more concerned with her appearance then the welfare of the patients to the point where staff would often joke about her. This is not to say that all the staff were bumbling fools. A few nurses and CNAs went above and beyond to provide my dad comfort and care up to and including bringing in their own supplies in order to test his blood sugar so as to compensate for malfunctioning equipment supplied by the Centre. If you are considering placing a family member here for Rehab Care, I would think twice about it. read more
