Came here Because every time I pass it's always crowded so I had to check it out. By girlfriend and I got the burgers and they were really good. I got the bourbon burger and she got the regular burger they were cooked perfectly. We also tried a few appetizers we got the shrimp yakitori and I believe we got calamari possibly? I can't remember it was a week ago everything was really good. The ambience was kind of upscale-ish but you didn't feel uncomfortable and just a button-up shirt and a pair of jeans overall experience I highly recommend it. read more

This is the second time I ordered to go. The orders I received were half the amount of the table portions that they served within the restaurant. I ordered the CAB pot roast, and it was an inch and a half thick, I could eat it in three bites. All the portions were small. It's as if they think you're not gonna look. I ordered the French onion soup, they gave me a small bowl of broth, and dried cheese and bread. Do not order for pick up from this restaurant. They assume you're not gonna check until you get home. Their room is substandard at best for Takeaway. I literally got home and threw the food out. This has happened now twice. I am a local and they treat your orders like this. Went for Easter Brunch, I had the prime rib & honestly it was the worst prime rib I've ever had, ordered it med-rare which it was & it was tough. I also had the French onion soup which disappoints, it was too much bread & salty. Another guest had the pork schnitzel & said it was flavorless & his calamari was rubbery. The sunny dining room was great. The service was great. The chicken piccata was disapointing. I expected thin chicken filets that were breaded and fried crispy and covered with a creamy buttery lemon and caper sauce. What I got was two chicken tenders with no coating/seasoning that looked browned in a skillet or flat top. No sauce. Some sauteed purple onions. Some capers in a clear liquid on the side. Didn't taste any lemon. The asparagus and rice served with it was decent. Definitely not a $25 dish overall. I'll give the restaurant another try, but not this dish. As I was leaving, I noticed almost everyone was happily eating hamburgers. Maybe that's the way to go. read more

We planned a celebration of life dinner at the Welshfield Inn event center. I coordinated the dinner from out of town. Kathy helped us- she was responsive and coordinated a lovely event! Our guests thought the buffet dinner (we had beef and salmon) was excellent. Kathy helped with a referral for a florist. Her team also set up AV equipment for a slide show. I appreciate how easy it was for me to coordinate this from afar! read more

I'm writing this review for my mother but she decided to come here after work - she's in town to open a new canes restaurant in the area. Wednesday evening for the prime rib special . The ambiance is great, the service is top notch ! The prime rib was filling and you could tell the size they said it was . It came with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts - normally she's not a fan of Brussels sprouts but she said these are delicious! She also got french onion soup - some of the best she's ever had . Highly recommend in fact I'm jealous I didn't get to try it. read more

This restaurant is always at the top of our list. The chef does an amazing job consistently producing top of the line menu items. The outdoor seating in the summer is wonderful. This is a classic piece of Americana and we drive quite away to go there several times a year. read more

We love going to Welshfield Inn for special occasions! Love the food quality and the environment it presents. This was our daughter's 7th birthday and they did a great job making it special. From the time we checked-in to the time we left, each person wished her a happy birthday and mad a big deal out of it; for that, we are very grateful! We got calamari for apps, I also got the bacon-blue salad and Lake perch for dinner. Wife got the chicken piccata and our daughter got the kid's spaghetti. The calamari texture was good, but the overall dish was very oily. After eating the calamari, I was not much more in the mood for my fried trout, although it was fresh and HOT. My daughter did not like her spaghetti, after tasting it, the sauce is "different" from a traditional sauce. It tasted similar to a vodka sauce, which is a bit more complex for a 7 yr old' palate. Wife's piccata tasted great, while the chicken could have been more-tender, the tendon was left on the breast, creating a less-tender dish. Despite this experience, we remain loyal and we'll be back. Our daughter did have A lot of fun and we appreciate the staff for that! We hope for a better outcome next time. read more

The appetizers were delicious, and beautifully presented. The individual dinners were served hot and at the same time. Our waitress was personable and very efficient. I ordered the perch dinner and it wasn't edible. The breading was thick and greasy. It tasted like someone put sugar in it. I pealed it away from the fish to have something to eat. The fries were super salty and cold. This was a dinner and the best bing about it was the glass of wine! In addition diners at the table near me were complaining about their dinners. My waiter didn't even notice I didn't eat the food. This used to be a very nice restaurant but something has seemingly gone wrong. Please fix it. read more

Some colleagues and myself went here for dinner the other day. They know that I enjoy a good local establishment, and Welshfield inn was the place. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, I got excited with the ambience of the outside parents of the restaurant. And then again, walking in seeing the stone fireplace with the expose beams, made for a really nice feel and warm. Welcome environment. the waitress was friendly and helpful. All of us enjoyed meals from grilled chicken salad, burger, and myself with an omelette for lunch. I love a good old-fashioned omelette with spinach tomatoes, etc. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the price is very reasonable. They also bring out fresh cinnamon rolls, and buns to the table. Very disappointed in the Mothers Day brunch at the events center. expected better quality for the ridiculous price. scrambled eggs were not only cold but tough and tasteless, overall quality and selection was sub par. I could buy cookies and danish from the grocery store and do a better job. I had hoped to give my daughters a unique experience and I ended up apologizing to them instead. next year we will organize our own brunch. highly recommend not to waste your money here. read more

don't get me wrong, this venue is pretty nice considering the location. I went here with my parents and siblings for Mother's Day for a brunch buffet. The cost came out to over 200 dollars and I can confidently say that the food was worth less than 20 bucks if that. everything was cold or stale or just tasted bad. the service was lack luster and the way the room was organized made it difficult to even walk through. the servers were nice but overall not a great experience. read more

Made last minute plans on Friday, to go out for dinner. Haven't been to Welsh Field Inn for 30+ years. As we were leaving house, called to verify they were open & if we needed reservations. Young lady who answered phone, said you did indeed need reservations & was able to handle our request. However, it did look like you could sit at the bar to eat. This is a spacious place, with separate interior rooms & a very large outdoor patio seating area, that looked impressive. Massive front covered porch too. We sat at one of 3 booths in the bar area, chose booth over dining room seating. There were plexiglass dividers separating each booth space. Service was excellent between Kevin & Meghan!! Food was excellent as well... We had Chicken piccata & Pot roast, WOW!! Substituted asparagus & ancient grains for mashed potato's with the piccata. Pot roast was Sofaking tender, just shredded with fork into the "big red"reduction & real mashed taters, with every bite. We each had side salads, bacon/blue was great. Greens we're soft & tender, bacon was thick real pieces. Both salads were enjoyed & the dressing & goat cheese on other salad was raved about... (no pictures of salads, they were worthy though!!) didn't plan on doing a review. No desserts on this night, next time, as the pecan pie & key lime pie peaked interest. Crème brûlée was another option sounding good too. We decided to start having a "date night" here, couple times a month. Nice easy drive for a fantastic meal experience. They have specials each night of week, prime rib is next visit. While walking out, was talking with a couple, whose grandmother stayed at the Inn over a 100 years ago...was pretty cool story. I hadn't been to this place in years but I had fond memories of an old stagecoach stop with a rustic, elegant ambiance and good food. So when it came time to find a place I could bring my adult children for an Easter brunch, I figured I'd give it a shot. The place was packed when we arrived and, because I wanted to sit in the actual restaurant (rather than the catering hall where the brunch was being served), we couldn't avail ourselves to the actual brunch. No matter. They've completely renovated the place and the room in which we sat - which was light & airy with a giant bow window overlooking beautiful gardens - was beautiful. Despite the fact that it was wall-to-wall people, we never felt as if we were in a crowded room. The breakfast entrées consisted of all-you-can-eat pancakes (regular or blueberry), eggs Benedict, ham and cheese quiche and something else I don't recall. My kids and I are very (um...VERY) hearty eaters so we opted to try everything and simply share. I told our server, Joanne, what we were doing so feel free to charge extra for the AYCE pancake option. She never did. The first thing to arrive at our table were warm cinnamon rolls and blueberry & banana muffins with real butter. They were excellent. Then came the entrées. Each was served with a bowl of fresh, seasonal fruit. It's easy to screw up eggs Benedict but this one was on-point! The muffin wasn't soggy, the poached eggs were cooked perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was excellent. So was the quiche and the blueberry pancakes - which were served with real maple syrup. My kids and I ended up ordering no less than 7 different entrées (!) and yet my bill (which I thought would rival the national debt) was just over $100. I didn't think this was bad at all - and was probably less than what I would've paid for the Buffet. All in all, one of the better dining experiences I've had in recent history. If it's been a while since you've visited the Welshfield Inn, it's time to give this place another look. Excellent job guys! read more

There are not many places to dine in the Garrettsville area, but we were lucky enough Welshfield Inn is nearby. I loved the homey feel to the place- small and intimate. Arriving early on a Thursday evening, there weren't many people around. Slowly within the next hour, many other tables started to fill the room. My friend and I ordered off their 2 for $40 menu, which consists of an appetizer, 2 entrees off a selected menu, and a bottle of wine. Not too bad for $20 per person right? I don't know where you would get that kind of deal! Our server was friendly and brought out each dish (including the starter plain rolls and cinnamon rolls) out right in time. I had the all you can eat fish. All I have to say is that's a lot of fish. Worth the price for sure. I ate both pieces and couldn't ask for another piece because the portion they give will fill you up for sure. Definitely will return. Next time I want to try burger night. Pretty sure they have a daily special and the night we went was Friday so it was all you can eat fish and hubby got a burger and said it was delicious as well. read more

Went here for Thanksgiving "dinner" and was very disappointed. For $50, i was served a salad that even a rabbit would turn down, then turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, yams, green beans and cranberry sauce. the stuffing was dry, and i don't eat yams or cranberry sauce so that was a waste. would have rather had more potatoes or turkey. had a small piece of pumpkin pie, that was about 2 full bites. The table of people next to us were loud and cussing so the atmosphere was less than "holiday" type. Shocked at how expensive a simple meal was and most definitely was my first and last time i'll be going there. very unfortunate read more
