Our first visit to this restaurant was because we learned that this was the family that was responsible for the French fries at Cedar Point during my childhood. My Dad would visit Cedar Point just to eat these French fries, and enjoy the Lake Erie views. The fries are as good as the originals, and the restaurant has great desserts to compensate for no Lake Erie views. My "go to" has become a turkey club, with French fries (obviously). The servings are always so generous I have to get my pie to go, and I usually leave with a slice of apple pie. I've been meaning to stop in here for a while, and I am so glad I did! There is a reason this restaurant has been around for forever. The people were so friendly and the food was delicious! Stoped in for breakfast on a Thursday morning. They were busy with locals coming in and you could see they knew the staff. Here for the first time. My wife had the Surf-n-turf. I had the Baked Lasagna with an order of fries. The kids had two bowls of soup. The thick Fries are indeed excellent. My wife enjoyed her steak. I found the Lasagna OK but rather dry and unremarkable. The place was busy and the waitress was trying her best to keep up. So this is the famous Cedar Point fries place. Get the half order to share, feeds at least 3. The sides are the thing here; fried fettuccine Alfredo, creamed jalapeño corn are delicious. It may look busy on the outside but don't worry they can accommodate many this place is huge. Service is okay they are busy. Expect a wait for food. Plan at least an hour and more visit. Visited Berardi's for some takeout before a nearby football game. Hint: during high school football season (especially Friday nights), do not attempt to park in Berardi's lot and walk over to the football stadium. Fair warning, your car will be towed. I called ahead and requested a chicken parm sammy with Berardi's fries. When I arrived my food wasn't ready, but it was ready within five minutes. The hostess was friendly. As I waited, I could see the I scoped the place out. It felt like a diner with some delicious menu choices. It made me miss having a diner near home. Where I live, there are no great diners nearby. What a shame! My chicken parm sammich was hot and delicious. The chicken had a nice crispy batter and the cheese and sauce were very tasty. It didn't fall apart of drip all over the place either while I ate it in my car. The Berardi's fries were really good. They were thick cut. I used some ketchup on them, which I don't normally do, but it made the fries a little better because they were so thick. If I'm ever in the area again, this is where I'm eating. read more

My family and I decided to stop in here on a Sunday for breakfast with a party of 11. To start when you walk in you're greeted by a friendly hostess who had a fun vibe. We quickly told her we had a party of 11 and it took her a bit but she pulled some tables together and sat our party. After some looking we ordered a spread of food. All the way from biscuits and gravy, omelets, pancakes and French toast. Took a little bit but our food came out and came out together. Which is a feat if you know how most restaurants work. However before we dive into food.. I have to give TARA a HUGE shoutout. She is what made this a 4 start experience. She was amazing. Without her this might have been a 3 start rating. She was so on point the whole time, had an amazing attitude and was just a very pleasing person to talk to! They need to give this woman a raise. Finally onto the food. Our food came out and it was decent. The omelets were a bit of a strange texture. With cheese on top. They need to figure out how to make them fluffy. The biscuits and gravy was good! Biscuits were very fluffy. Pancakes we're good. Potatoes were good. To top it all off the pumpkin muffin with cream cheese topping was fantastic! Overall this place is decent and in comparison to some of the other places around it was good. If you're looking for a decent breakfast restaurant around here.. check this place out. We loved the food here! I had the chicken tenders with the garlic parmesan and mac and cheese plus breaded mushrooms. WOW the Mac is so delicious! The chicken tenders are also really great especially with the sauce. I liked the mushrooms too but way better with that garlic sauce. I heard someone call in asking if had any left. Hot seller and once item gone sold out for the day. I got cookies and muffin take back bnb. The food I got the Pecan French Toast. It was da bomb! It's a mixed bag here. Excellent food for the most part and some unique takes on old favorites. Get some cedar point fries and a salad for sure! Sounds weird, but both items are delicious. The service was friendly, but not attentive. Be prepared to wait up to an hour for your food. The interior is somewhat cramped and off for being such a huge building. The fried mushrooms are also top notch and fresh. I would try the chicken tenders the next time. Or a different combination of 1/2 salad1/2 sandwich or soup pick two. I had an appointment in Sandusky. I finished much sooner than I thought I would, so I decided to treat myself to Berardi's. I made this my "cheat day" by ordering a half order of the famous Berardi's fries and took it over the top by ordering Apple Bread Pudding. I am a hug bread pudding fan, so I could not wait to stop on devour these items at a rest stop on my way home. The fries were piping hot, so that smell of deliciousness was wafting throughout the vehicle making me seriously hungry! I finally make it to the rest stop and basically tore into the bag to get at the fries. They packed extra packets of malt vinegar. The fries were amazing as usual! Berardi's half order compares to most fast food establishments' large or XL size. Theses fries are not shoestring and they're not steak fries - somewhere in the middle. Then it was time for the ultimate treat of the Apple Bread Pudding. I was hoping this bread pudding would bring back cherished childhood memories of my Mother's yummy, warm bread pudding. Much to my surprise, this bread pudding was ice cold and my first bite had a partially frozen apple! Whaaaaat??? This was a first for me. Thinking the person who boxed up my food made a mistake, I called Berardi's to speak with a manager to make them aware of their mistake and hopefully keep it from happening again. Spoiler Alert! Berardi's serves this version of bread pudding ice cold unless you ask fr it to be warmed. What - whaaaat? Sorry, ice cold bread pudding with partially frozen Apple is not of any interest to me. My wife and I ate lunch there yesterday, July 30th. I had the lasagna and my wife had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. All I can say is the food was amazing and the service was awesome also. We will be going back, thats for sure! Although I love Berardis restaurant their catering sucks. We were trying to set up catering for the legacy center at Groff after a funeral. We called, left messages and sent emails and no one would get back with us. We finally reached someone and even though their catering menu says they deliver we were told they DON'T deliver. It also took two days to get someone on the phone. They really left us in a panic about what to do. I was already in a state of grief and they were not helpful at all. I suggest that you skip trying to get them to cater your event unless you want to be disappointed Oh, and another thing, the funeral home told us to call Berardis and gave us their catering menu and number to call.p read more

The first time I ate here, the server was informed I had a gluten problem, but was ignorant of the fact that one of their soups had pasta in it. Despite our efforts, something (I want to say the tomato sauce on the cabbage rolls) gave me nerve pain for several days. The second time I ate here, the gluten-free baked "mac and cheese" (their gf penne) came out undercooked with a cardboard consistency and a bad cheese sauce that was most definitely not baked. Stuff thickens a certain way when baked. The item was sent back, but was left on the bill with an upcharge (that is not listed on the menu) for the gluten-free penne. When this was removed, the price of the salad magically spiked. Yes, Berardi's tried to defraud me three times in about 5 minutes. A response by the company on Google failed to hit any of the concerns I brought forward. They misplaced the upcharge, used condescending language despite being the ones in the wrong, and otherwise were a pain in the ass. So I'm spreading the word. You hurt me, you robbed me, and that's your last chance. read more
