The Chopper (over easy, sour dough, home fries)
    Rachael R.

A very solid diner option. Stopped in for breakfast, very much a community place - lots of people knowing one another. Our server (Maddy, I believe) was so friendly and attentive! Lots of great teamwork going on from host to checkout. We both got the Chopper, a customizable no meat breakfast option. Executed perfectly - just what I crave in a buttery comforting American breakfast washed down with hot coffee. We were on our way around 10:30am and it was starting to really pick up! Luckily, there is plenty of seating and everyone was managed very well. The inside is your typical American diner style complete a bar and old train pics in the main room and golfing in the larger side dining room. Thanks for a great breakfast!

Fathers Day Special - eggs Benedict

We went for the first time today (Fathers Day). The service was quick and friendly. It was very clean and the food was excellent. I had the eggs benedict which was a special, and my husband had the hillbilly benedict. Both were delicious. Our son had the Mouse Pancakes off the kids menu and he really enjoyed them. We'll definitely be back.

    Mile High Club

My husband saw Rise and Dine featured on New Day Cleveland. And even though it's almost an hour drive from us. He still wanted to try it. It has a very cozy diner vibe and every employee was super welcoming. We were on a mission to try their fried onion rings and fried mushrooms. My husband got the Turkey Rueben and I ordered the Mile High Club. That name is no joke! The club is huge and delicious. I could barely finish half of it. The Turkey Rueben was every bit as good. And the onion rings and fried mushrooms were legendary!!! Even better than at the fair!!! We will for sure make the trip out to Rise and Dine again!!!!

This is THE MOST INCREDIBLE GLUTEN FREE waffle in Ohio! Hit the spot and i took 2 orders to go for home.

Adorable small town diner, located in Chesterland. A great taste of the Midwest, complete with Journey playing in the background, while the smell of delicious sweet vanilla waffles fills in the air. Ha! Too much...I'm just really hungry Quick and friendly service.

    christmas trees welcome!

Fred's Diner is a sparkling diamond of a place that so many locals I mentioned it to were still…read moreunaware of. That's mostly due to location. It's less than a 10 minute drive from downtown Akron but it's off the beaten path. All locals (except me) in here. When I went (10AM Friday) the place was almost full, and I was dining alone, so I sat at the counter, happily next to the kitchen. To look at the kitchen was like looking inside a bee hive, bustling with activity but barely a sound. I could just make out what was being calmly stated "2 Silver Dollar, Salmon, Country Fried, 2 Over Easy..." It was fun to watch, but what was important was the output. It took just over 6 minutes from the time I order until it was sitting in front of me, and everything was perfect! The waitresses were so efficient. I saw my order hit the window and in about 12 seconds it was delivered. They were so customer focused, they were (jokingly) fighting over refilling my tea. When I was done and paid for I waited outside for Uber to pick me up (3 min). I looked back on what I'd just experienced, and snapped a picture of the two parking lots of cars for Fred's Diner. I counted and there were 32 cars at Fred's. OK maybe 10 were staff so 22 cars for customers, let's say on average there were 2 customers per car (remember I walked here so no car for me). By my calculation, Fred's was feeding 44 people every 30 minutes or so. No wonder they're only open 4 days a week and only for breakfast - lunch. I calculate they might serve 3200 meals in those 4 days, and then take 3 days off to get ready for the next week. I love this place. Wish I lived here so I could come more often.

My daughter and I both had off today, so we decided to hit up Fred's for breakfast. I had a craving…read morefor steak and eggs and she went with the corned beef hash. Both plates were very good. I particularly appreciate that they use real potatoes for their hashbrowns, not the frozen/freeze dried crap most places serve up these days. The service was great, coffee was strong, and our bellies are fullllll.
