Be nice to your waitstaff and tip generously! Eating brunch here on Sunday before going apple picking reminded me of just how hard they work and how terrible so many people treat these lovely folk. That's my PSA for today. As for everything else, this little diner is definitely locally owned and locally loved. It was only a few minutes from the farm I took my bf to go apple picking on the far east side of Cleveland. FYI!!! - The menu online is incredibly outdated!! Each thing is about 50% more expensive. Use the attached menu pictures to get an accurate idea of prices in late 2025. This is no longer a cheap place to eat. :( After about 15 minutes of waiting, we were sat at the counter right next to the cash register and could hear everything the staff said. I was enlightened as to how terrible they are treated by stingy, entitled customers. I felt terrible about my impatience at getting seated and getting our food but it seems like all the staff and cooks were just burnt out today. They still did a pretty good job at making yummy food though! My bf got a skillet with home fries and wheat toast. This was a lot of food and the toast was very thicccc and very heavily buttered. I ordered a gyro salad with tzaziki sauce and it came with buttered triangles of pita bread. Since we weren't prepared for the price changes, we just got water to drink. We both were shocked at how LARGE the portions were! The gyro meat was so good and the pita bread was nice and lightly buttered. My bf was a huge fan of the sausage in his skillet. Because we didn't want to leave the food in the car for a few hours, we ate everything and did not have leftovers although we could have! Not sure how well my gyro salad would taste as leftovers though so it was probably best I ate everything. Lastly, I made sure to thank them and tip generously. I hope everyone else there did the same. I ended up paying about $42. read more

Nice diner in Chesterland. Came for breakfast they also serve lunch. They are open until 2 pm. They were very busy when we got there at 9:15 am. The main dining area was full the side area was getting full. Our server was very friendly. Hometown vibes. The portions were large. We ended up taking some home. O tried my husband's sausage and biscuits. The biscuits were delicious ! Fluffy and perfect. The gravy was good. It needed a bit more flavor via spices like salt and pepper. Easy to add, but better cooked in. I had the Hercules gyro with eggs and wheat toast. Loved the seeded wheat thick toast. The tzatziki sauce was very nice. Gyro meet was tasty. The shredded hash towns were perfectly cooked. My mother in law got the godfather. The guido Italian sausage looked good and she said it was great. Would definitely come back! read more

Pretty good food! Everything tasted good and customer service was great. Prices are just a little high which is why I took away a star. Will definitely be back though! Make sure to bring cash, they had a sign up that says they are charging credit cards a surcharge starting February 1st. You can avoid if you pay in cash though! read more

Had our first brunch at Rise and Dine. Food was excellent and so was the service! Loved our server, Maddy! She made it such a fun experience. I had the Hillbilly Benedict and hubby had a breakfast bowl. Finished off with a blueberry pancake. Everything was cooked to perfection! And we have enough for breakfast tomorrow. A very solid diner option. Stopped in for breakfast, very much a community place - lots of people knowing one another. Our server (Maddy, I believe) was so friendly and attentive! Lots of great teamwork going on from host to checkout. We both got the Chopper, a customizable no meat breakfast option. Executed perfectly - just what I crave in a buttery comforting American breakfast washed down with hot coffee. We were on our way around 10:30am and it was starting to really pick up! Luckily, there is plenty of seating and everyone was managed very well. We went for the first time today (Fathers Day). The service was quick and friendly. It was very clean and the food was excellent. I had the eggs benedict which was a special, and my husband had the hillbilly benedict. Both were delicious. Our son had the Mouse Pancakes off the kids menu and he really enjoyed them. My husband saw Rise and Dine featured on New Day Cleveland. And even though it's almost an hour drive from us. He still wanted to try it. It has a very cozy diner vibe and every employee was super welcoming. We were on a mission to try their fried onion rings and fried mushrooms. My husband got the Turkey Rueben and I ordered the Mile High Club. That name is no joke! The club is huge and delicious. I could barely finish half of it. The Turkey Rueben was every bit as good. And the onion rings and fried mushrooms were legendary!!! Even better than at the fair!!! We will for sure make the trip out to Rise and Dine again!!!! read more

It is almost impossible to find a place like this anymore: locally owned and operated, fresh food made in house, staff that chats with the regulars & offers first rate service. This is my favorite kind of place...good food, good service, value for your money and locally owned. The portions here are substantial for the price as well. I live over an hour away and make the trip for the breakfast. They mainstays like eggs, pancakes and omelets are all good. They also have some unique & seasonal items breakfast items on the menu. My partner had the Hillbilly Benedict with breaded chicken, home fries and he loved it. I enjoyed the Sensational Skillet and the veggies, eggs, potatoes and sausage were all fresh and cooked to perfection. While obviously short staffed, the service was excellent. Everyone from the hostess, server, cooks and food runners were pleasant. You can tell a lot of the people were regulars which is always a good sign. The owner/chef even took time to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our food. If you are in the area, this is a must try and it's worth the drive for a good breakfast any time. It's busy so expect a short wait for a table but the food comes out pretty quick. read more

Ordered the Louvre which is French toast, eggs and protein ($9.50 great price). Server asked if I wanted regular bread or brioche ? I ordered the brioche. Kerri forgot to mention there was an up charge of $8:50 ($4.25 per slice of bread) My meal was $18.00. I call on Monday to speak with a manager but was told she was out but took my phone number and she said she would call me back. Guess what? No returned call. $18.00 for French toast at a diner in Chesterland ??? I think not! And it was not that good. Oh , and the owner came out of the kitchen and sat with the guests at the next table. I had a little time on morning and sometimes you just have to sit down and have breakfast by yourself and think about what you have to do for the day. I grew up in this little Hamlet called chesterland and I've never been to the rise and dine Cafe. I suppose my bar of excellence relies on their corned beef hash. So I ordered corned beef hash and scrambled eggs. My table was parallel to the server station which at first seemed kind of weird but then was actually kind of convenient cuz all of the servers are right there and I got really good service including coffee refilled multiple times! The first thing I thought of when my corned beef hash was delivered was oh my God you're not going to actually eat all of this are you and of course I gave it my best shot but I did not eat all of it. it was the right amount of corned beef, onions, and those tiny little chopped potatoes which they were cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. The corned beef hash was not dry either it seemed like it was freshly chopped. you really can't screw up eggs unless you really really try in this place did a great job with the eggs the coffee was little weak for my taste however and I prefer the flavored creamers over regular cream which I'm not sure if they had flavored creamers I did not bother to ask. Overall it was affordable food was fast Services great I would go back again no worries read more

Great food, but they refuse to take to go orders over the phone. You can walk in and place an order to go, but not over the phone. In the amount of time that it took them to explain to me why they don't take carry out orders over the phone, they could have taken my order. Doesn't make any sense. read more

Yelper Miranda C and I attended a yoga class at nearby Sunshine Yoga and were looking for a quick breakfast afterwards. We both don't mind a good greasy spoon, so when Rise and Dine Cafe showed up on the trusty Yelp app, it was a pretty obvious choice! When we walked in, there was maybe 10 people sitting around waiting to be seated. We added our name to the list and were expecting a 10-minute wait, but the Cafe is so lightening fast we were sat in under 2 minutes! Rise and Dine is the quintessential neighborhood cafe. With a mismatched mug collection, quirky menu and placemats with crossword puzzles, it reminds me of somewhere my grandpa would've taken me when I was little. I ordered the Hillbilly Breakfast (lol), which was essentially chicken, gravy, eggs and a side of potatoes. Bland gravy is the worst, but this gravy was super satisfying. The portion was huge and despite a busy atmosphere, we were served within minutes! With such a huge menu, you could find anything from healthy omelettes to an ice cream sandwich (yes, for breakfast, and you read that right). They are also proud of their Yelp presence. My new go to breakfast spot. I got the omelet that combines the meat lovers omelet with the veggie lovers omelet. It was incredible. Nice and fluffy and packed!! I opted with the home fries and was very good, but next time I'm trying the hashbrowns. I couldn't believe that I finished the omelet, but it was so good you can't stop eating it. And the rye toast was excellent along with the always full cup of coffee. I also plan on trying lunch there. We spotted a burger with amazing looking onion rings go by that definitely needs further investigation. read more
