I visited for brunch with some friends and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. We were seated almost immediately, and the service was incredibly attentive. They greeted us right away to take our drink orders before we even dove into the menu. What we ordered: * The Monte Cristo: Absolutely delectable and packed with flavor. * The Avocado Burger: Just as delicious and really fresh. * The Sides: We tried both the fries and the tater tots. Pro Tip: Do not sleep on the tots! They are pillowy, cheesy, and absolutely breathtaking. They paired perfectly with the Monte Cristo. If you're looking for a nice, casual brunch spot with reasonable prices you can't beat, this is the place. Highly recommend!

I've been to Chagrin River a few times but never have I tried the chorizo breakfast tacos until today... SO GOOD. So fresh and tasty. The only reason I docked a point is because it was just so busy, took a while and we had to sit in a tiny booth. Otherwise, service was great and the food was delicious!

Friday lunch visit. Decided to have some breakfast (served all day) with the corned beef hash. Corned beef made in house. Everyone else's meals also looked good and everyone was happy. Service was very friendly, and the food and drinks got to our table in a reasonable time (place was pretty busy). Cool interior decor. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Came here on Sunday for brunch and it was packed. Be prepared to wait, but it was worth it. This was the fluffiest omelet I've had. Portion was massive. The Caesar salad was full of flavor and wasn't too heavy. The potatoes were okay. I should have gotten the crispy ones.

We did not have a reservation so they took us down the steps and I thought we'd be heading to some really bad tables, however we were right on the edge of the falls. We were the only ones there it was so awesome! Andrew I believe his name was was our server and he was incredible. He answered every question fully he brought us extra things every time we asked, he had our dinner divided in a half because we wanted to split it and he packed our leftovers. He was so helpful. Atmosphere was absolutely awesome as was the food and service.

OK, let's get down to business. For any of you who follow my posts, you are aware one of my favorite things to do is go out for Fine Dining. Every Saturday night my wife and I join my brother and sister-in-law and we go out to dinner somewhere in the greater Cleveland area. We are always looking for a new experience. And we'll try just about anything. Certainly we have our favorites... Il Venetian is fabulous, Marble Room is fabulous, Cru Uncorked is fabulous, ML Tavern, Gigi's on Fairmount, Artis in Lakewood, and on and on. So many more I can't count them all. I'm always looking. But beyond all that, a guy (or gal) has to have their own "Joint". You have to have a place to go to any time, all the time, no matter how you're feelin', or looking. Your home away from home... you know - "your joint", "your place". Well here's my place. And not just my place. Lot's of people's place. This place is full of regulars. And because of the kind of place it is, new people are being added every day. Now let's get beyond the obvious. The food here is GREAT everyday comfort food. It's not pretentious. It's every day people breakfast, lunch, and dinner food. It's all made from scratch. I sit and watch them make the soup of the day for hours with all fresh ingredients. I watch the young woman that comes in two hours early just to dream up some new recipe and bake the morning muffins. I watched while one of the cooks worked for 3 months, tweaking and tweaking continuously to perfect his own recipe for the pretzel bites. These are dedicated people. And they do it all for their customers. And now the real reason why this is so many people's "Joint". Clearly it's the folks that work here. Somehow, someway, Jim the owner has managed to put together a team of people you just want to be friends with. These are awesome folks. It doesn't take long before they start treating you like family. I've seen it happen over and over. It's not fake. It's not some fancy business model. They're not kidding. It's real. I show up at the Diner anywhere from 2 to 4 times a week. Lot's of people do the same . There's a guy who is there every single day. And I don't care what kind of day you're having or what kind of mood you're in. You will just feel better by the time you leave. It's MAGIC. So if you need a "Joint", or just a good meal and good conversation; do yourself a favor. Stop in to the Chagrin River Diner and experience it for yourself. I'm not kidding you. You'll believe me when you see it. See you there.

I met up with a friend at Chagrin River Diner on a Wednesday for lunch. It was nice it wasn't crowded. I called a head of time to make sure they could sit us outside and said to just call 15-20 minutes before I arrived to make sure the table was available. It was. I got inside to get seated and no one came up to me for about 5 minutes or so. There was a lady who was kind of looking at me awhile once I came in but never approached me. She came over after waiting awhile and looked like she didn't want to seat me. It was weird. When I sat down the server came right over and took our order. I got the avocado burger and my friend got a large sandwich. It was nice they don't up charge for cheese on the burger and asked if I wanted it. Super nice server and really attentive. Now here's the deal, while I was eating with my friend a bird flew over and crapped on my plate! I was so irritated once I realized but because we were leaving I didn't want to inconvenience the server. I did have the fries and they were good but can't speak on the food unfortunately. I definitely will be back but will be seated outside underneath their awning.

Had the opportunity to eat breakfast at this local diner in downtown Willoughby. They have both indoor and outdoor seating options, but on our humid morning we opted for indoor. Our party of 3 was seated in a booth and immediately our server was over taking our drink order. I ordered both a regular coffee and a boozy one, which sadly didn't come out with the menu-indicated whipped cream topping. The coffee was strong (both of them) and flavorful. For my entree, I went with the Lunker Jr. which contained eggs, sausage gravy, cheese, and hashbrowns on top of a biscuit. I added a little Frank's Red Hot and honestly loved the meal. My boyfriend and his friend both chose the chorizo breakfast tacos, one with tots on the side and the other with the breakfast hashbrowns. I tried one of the tots and it had an extremely crispy and well-seasoned exterior with a soft and dense interior. It paired well with the chipotle crema he ordered for dipping. They both loved the tacos and said the chorizo was packing some heat.

Two eggs, sausage patties, Crispy Spuds and dry wheat toast

Came here for a breakfast with a colleague who, wanted eggs Benedict. I opted for a traditional sausage and eggs. Mine was very good. The sausage was nice. The Crispy Spuds were crunchy and soft - nice alternate to hash browns. My colleagues egg Benedict sauce looked thin. She said it was ok. The weather was perfect and it was really nice to sit outside ! Our server did a great Job of keeping our coffee full. Will definitely be back.

That fried chicken took us all the way back. We're old school, and that's exactly how fried chicken is supposed to taste--perfectly seasoned, incredibly flavorful, juicy on the inside, and fried to a golden, crispy crunch. It was absolutely phenomenal. The waffles were just as impressive--light, flavorful, and cooked to perfection with an amazing texture. Every bite was on point. The experience was so good that I knew I had to bring my husband back because he's a huge chicken and waffles fan. It was his first time there, and without fail, he had the exact same reaction. From the first bite, he was sold. He absolutely loved it. When a restaurant delivers that kind of quality to an entire group and then exceeds expectations again on a return visit, you know it's the real deal. From the food to the service, it was an easy 5-star experience. We'll definitely be back!

I also asked for a lemon wedge, not a slice, since you can't squeeze a slice. Next came our espresso martinis, one for each of us. We actually felt the bang for our buck -- strong, well-balanced, and worth every penny. For our appetizer, we shared the gluten-free BBT meatballs. It was delightful. Then our Cobb salads arrived, each with shrimp added. We requested a side of extra-virgin olive oil -- not a blend -- and the kitchen got it right. For dessert, we shared the cheesecake, minus the graham cracker crust because my friend is gluten-free. I would have preferred the kitchen plate it for sharing and provide dessert silverware with it, instead of us having to flag someone down. I'm also industrial seed oil free, and Hailey was attentive to both of our dietary needs throughout. The manager, Chris Nichols, stopped by to check in and ensure we were satisfied -- a clear sign the restaurant is customer centric. I actually thought Chris was the GM. Kudos to the general manager, Ben Lano, for inspiring great teamwork. Lastly, I give the ambience four stars, simply because we don't have a Michelin-starred restaurant in Ohio.

I ordered the tofu tostada, and it was genuinely inedible. The tofu was dry and burnt, and the entire dish was excessively salty. I barely ate any of it. The first tostada was only picked at, with essentially all of the filling left on the plate. When I explained the problem to the manager, rather than simply acknowledging the issue, she argued that the dish was "half eaten" and said she could only offer a discount. That was simply not an accurate representation of what was on the plate. This was a $15 dish with virtually all of the food remaining. She eventually comped it, but only after making the situation unnecessarily difficult. Unfortunately, her attitude did not improve. She was rude during the interaction and particularly unpleasant when handing us the bill. A customer reporting that their food is burnt, excessively dry, and over-salted should not be made to feel as though they are doing something wrong by bringing it to management's attention. The service was also remarkably disorganized. Within approximately 45-60 minutes, we were passed between three different servers, including the manager. The lack of consistent service made the experience feel chaotic rather than welcoming. What was especially strange was that, while we were dealing with a problem with our food, the manager was also actively fishing for compliments about a mocktail she had created. It was a bizarre contrast to the situation at our table and did not exactly inspire confidence in her customer-service instincts. The restaurant was nearly empty during Sunday brunch, and unfortunately the overall experience did little to make us understand why we should return. The food quality was poor, the service was disorganized, and management handled a straightforward complaint with an unnecessary amount of defensiveness and attitude. There are plenty of restaurants where you can have a mediocre meal. What makes a restaurant worth returning to is how it responds when something goes wrong. Sage Karma Kitchen failed on both the food and the customer-service side. We spent a substantial amount and we will absolutely not be returning.
