I enjoy seeing Dr. Kelly and his staff. The technician I see before each appointment I have had is very pleasant and she's very good with all of the tests we need to do to analyze my level of eye sight. Today's appointment was to analyze the state of me left eye. Before my trip to St. Thomas in December 2022, I face-planted on my com create family room floor. My head was cut open and my left eye turned black. But no ER for me before the trip, I had packing to do. So jetted off to St. Thomas for a few days with all pictures of me taken from a distance - NO SELFIES (lol) when we got home on the 19th I finally went to the ER because it really hadn't gotten much better. Had a CAT scan to see if I broke anything around my eye, got some drops for the eye and an order to follow up with Dr. Kelly. It took me a while to finally call and get an appointment for today, January 25 2023. Instead of it just being an appointment to address the obvious, we did all the eye sight checking stuff and found out my prescription for my glasses had changed. But after all that, Dr. Kelly took a look at everything and it's just a burst blood vessel that is slowly but surely healing. I received my new prescription and was on my merry way. I highly recommend Dr. Kelly as he is really good at what he does. Having had several appointments with him for various things I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

On August 2020 I injured my eye,and had to go to the emergency room.I was told by the hospital staff that my eye had to be removed because of the amount of damage my eye had suffered. My eye had multiple cuts,there was cuts through the pupil,sclera,and cornea.The eye gel leaked out,and the retina was damaged too.After spending the whole night in the emergency room I was transported to UMC and Dr.Kelly was assigned as my surgeon. When he saw the condition of my eye he also told me that my eye had to be removed due to the damage and all the multiple cuts that my eye had. Surgery lasted for more than 2 hours. After surgery, my family informed me that Dr.Kelly changed his mind during surgery and he decided not to remove my eye. I was in disbelief. Dr.Kelly has given me a second chance. He's a genuine human being that truly cares for his patients.He's extraordinary,remarkable,compassionate, and passionate about his profession. The way he was able to reconstruct my damaged eye it's almost like it was an artist. Eye check ups are never really too fun or exciting, but this place makes them super quick and painless. I've been coming here for a few years now and the staff is always super friendly and helpful. Glasses wise they have some pretty decent selections. The last pair I got was Ray-Ban and they've lasted me for quite some time now. They also have multiple different brands and styles of contacts like daily, monthly, etc. They're very good about making sure you're fitted with the right ones for your needs and wants. During that time we have had multiple appointments, and all of those appts have been nothing but the best - attentive courteous front-desk staff, - thorough optical assistants/nurses, - and excellent time spent with Dr Kelly. I was referred to a different ophthalmologist but they weren't able to get me an appointment in a timely fashion. That particular office then sent me to see Dr. Thomas Kelly at Silver State Eye Care. I'm very happy they did. The people at Silver State Eye Care turned out to be very easy to talk with and were very caring (unlike the original referral). Hollie (receptionist) answered all my questions about the new patient questionnaire form and billing inquiries. Diane (nurse) explained everything as to what she was doing to my eyes and why (dilating the pupils, etc.). Dr. Kelly (ophthalmologist) was very welcoming and made me feel completely at ease. He wrote down what tests he recommended I get from my primary care doctor and why I needed those tests. I would definitely recommend this facility to others if they need eye care. read more

This is the WORST eye doctor I have ever been. He wrote prescriptions that when I went to fill-were not what he told me. Fortunately, the pharmacist was alert and informed me-this was the WRONG RXs. He called Thomas Kelly md office and they admitted Kelly got me mixed up with someone else. They called in the correct prescriptions. The RX he gave me would have made my eye pressure go WAY UP! A total waste of time and money. Another eye group Nevada Eye and Ear-who I saw Kelly at first-before they terminated him-is opening up a few blocks from Kelly. since I don't drive anymore-I will be going over there at their new office on Fort Apache and Russell-in September and will get better eye care. Dr. Kelly did a repair cataract surgery for my significant other. Afterwards, following a short treatment of eye drops, Ron couldn't see anything but blurriness. We kept going back for about 7 months to see what else could be done, and Dr. K just kept saying there was nothing else he could do. When we suggested seeing a retina specialist, Dr. K got huffy and emphatically said NO. This put us off so we made an appointment with another ophthalmologist, who was astonished that Dr. K hadn't tried a simple injection that could have solved the issue. But since so much time had passed, the second doctor referred Ron to a retina specialist, who is now treating him. There is also the possibility that Dr K put in the wrong size lens implant, which may be causing the constant inflammation, so we will check into this further. I also live in a community where people share suggestions for various doctors, vendors, etc. Several people have indicated that they have had negative results and experiences with Dr. K. My suggestion: run fast and far away from Dr. Kelly! read more

When I was vacationing in Las Vegas, I was using a prescription medicine my internist from home gave me that was not working. After using some cheap, over-the-counter eye drops in addition to the prescription med that failed to give me some relief, I yelped looking for an ophthalmologist near our timeshare. Not only was Silver State Eye Care very close by, but I was so fortunate to have a great experience with Dr. Kelly. His friendly and very accommodating office staff fit me in for an appointment early the next morning (I got around to calling his office late the day before my appointment.). Everyone was very professional, made me feel very comfortable, and Dr. Kelly examined my eyes and knew precisely what replacement medicine would resolve my eye problem. Dr. Kelly also has a great "bedside manner," especially when we found several common interests.
