I always get anxious before seeing a dentist. Dr. Melendrez was referred to me by an endodontist for an extraction, bone graft and implant. The office staff was so pleasant and professional. They answered all my questions and was so patient with me. The oral surgery went better than I expected. I wasn't sedated since I didn't have anyone that could drive me home afterwards. I decided on nitrous oxide to reduce the anxiety and fear. Dr. Melendrez gave me the novocaine and stayed in the room and chatted until it was time to get started. It was a very nice conversation and it put me at ease. He worked quick. The extraction and the bone graft took less than 15 minutes. There was barely any swelling or pain. Dr. Melendrez removed my 8 year old's four Ankylosed molars. Not sure anyone has a "great experience" having their kid's teeth surgically removed under sedation, but we really did have a great experience. We met with Dr. Melendrez two months ago to help answer questions about the procedure and ease concerns about sedation. He eased our concerns and left us feeling confident. We scheduled for over summer break and our surgery came and went...and it was extremely uneventful. We were in and out of his office in about an hour and a half. My son had zero pain after and only took ibuprofen for two days. I would highly recommend Dr. Melendrez for any oral surgery!! read more

My dentist referred me to Dr. Melendrez because the crown on my lower molar #3 broke off at the gum line. That molar has had 3 crowns and one root canal starting in grade school for the first crown. It was ready to retire after the root canal post broke when the crown broke. Dr. Melendrez and the whole staff are kind and easy to talk to and gave me all the information I needed. His numbing shots were great so that started things out on a good note. He had to section it to remove it and the removal felt no more than having prep work for a crown. It went quick imo and before I knew it he was putting in sutures. I highly recommend this office. read more

No one, absolutely no one wants to have their wisdom teeth removed. But, if you have to get them removed best to have them removed by a kind, friendly, and professional team. Dr. Melendrez is that person. My son's dentist suggested Silver State and Dr. Melendrez. We went in for a consult and went over why my son needed his wisdom teeth removed. They went over complications and best results. We then spoke to the receptionist who informed use of the total amount we would need to pay and what our insurance covered. We then brought our son back for his appointment and the removal of all 4 wisdom teeth. I was greatly pleased that the office called the following morning to check on my son and see if everything was going well. What great customer service. We went back for a follow up appointment a week after surgery, to make sure everything was going well and the sutures were dissolving. My son was able to go back to eating his favorite foods just one week after surgery. My regular dentist recommended Dr. Melendrez for a wisdom tooth extraction due to the location of the tooth. I called the office and put down a deposit to hold my appointment and gave my Medicare and insurance information. A few days later I received a call from the office saying that if I waited until after February 1st my insurance would cover most all of the charges. Who does that in these days? I made a new appointment and waited for the day. I'm no good with pain so it was decided that sedation would be used. The morning came and my husband took me to the office and I checked in. The front office receptionist was so welcoming not to mention that the office is beautiful and makes you feel like you're in a family home. I was then taken into the room where the extraction would take place. The assistants were so caring and professional. The next thing I knew they were bringing me a warm blanket and the doctor came in and sat beside me, introduced himself and explained to me what was going to take place. We struck up a conversation and I found him totally charming with a great chair side manner. Immediately I trusted him and had no worries about my extraction. I woke up after it was all over and felt really good that Dr. Melendrez had been my surgeon. My tooth was so old it had a gold crown and they made sure that it was returned to me before leaving. I hope that I am not going to need a dental surgeon in the very near future but if I do, I would certainly trust Dr. Melendrez to do the job. I recommend him highly. read more

Having health issues to contend with always makes any procedure a bit more difficult. The staff here is extremely informed and take the time to sit down with you to review your medication allergies, conditions and offer you options for your treatment. I went to absolute dental on June 10th 2022, and they referred me to Silver State. Absolute dental said they couldn't see me till mid July for the extraction because their surgeon wouldn't be available until then. I called Silver State and I was very grateful they could see me the following week. The dentist from absolute dental gave me prescription to help with the infection until the oral surgeon could get me in. I got a appointment June 15th 2022 with Dentist Thomas Melendez. I went there in so much pain even though I was taking antibiotics I was still suffering. The receptionist and staff was very friendly except for Thomas Melendez. He gave me numbing medication but I still felt uncomfortable and he gave it to me again. I'm freaking out and have high anxiety already. While he was taking the tooth out it felt like he was pulling from inside my nose and I was afraid. I started crying had huge tears and he kept saying, "this was only supposed to be a easy infraction." I tried calling myself down and saying to myself, "it's going to be okay, just get it over with, calm down." I had did that a few times, and he said, "well I'm not going to torture you, maybe we should make it for a different time." I said, "haven't you started taking it out already?" He nodded his head and said "yes." So I said, "okay just finish it then." I was so confused on why he would say that. He again said, "this was supposed to be a easy extraction." After he was done I was embarrassed and ashamed. I brought my antibiotics with me so he could see them and see how many I still needed. I told him twice once after he checked my X-rays and after he took out my tooth. He then stated, "you had enough antibiotics there is no need for any further medication." I said, "okay I'm ready to leave aren't you going to check my antibiotics, or can I get some kind of ibuprofen for the pain?" He said, "maybe just for one day." I said , "I am never coming back here again." I never received a follow up call to see how I am doing, I have called and left messages for a week. I still have pain and I still feel their is a infection. I shouldn't be treated this way. My boyfriend paid for the hole thing with his debit card in full the same day. read more

I waited 6 weeks to make the appointment...and managed to be caught short 26 dollars, (my fault) , after an hour and a half drive and insurance accepted, wrong credit card, new debit card has not arrived, they would not bill me 26 dollars. Its business, not personal, but since the least expectation is a good painless experience billing 26 bucks is the extra mile detail which deserves a good report. Walking in, I was terrified! Ive never had surgery, I hate dentists, I hate needles, I hate pain. Every step I took, I wanted to turn and run. But, my wisdom teeth had to come out. They were causing tons of pain. It was time. My dentist recommended Dr Melendrez. So me being the crazy researcher that I am, started searching for reviews, malpractice claims, doctor grades. Everything looked like this guy wasn't a shady man in a back alley with rusty pliers. So I made an appointment. They got me in a few days later. The building is modern and clean. The office was filled with antiques and neat. The staff was reassuring and calm. I never felt like they were going to sell my kidneys on the black market. When it was time for my appointment, I was surprised to be called back by the doctor himself. He warmly greeted me, and gave my driver all my prescriptions so she could get them filled while I was in surgery. (Loved that! There is nothing worse then waiting for prescriptions when you feel like hell). Dr Melendrez walked me to the consult room, he went over my X-rays, and what I could expect from the surgery, he explained he risks and made sure I was ok with everything. Then took me back in to the surgery room. I sat down and the nurse (I'm sorry nurse, I don't remember your name, but you were super nice!) gave me a warmed blanket. The doctor started my IV, the nurse put on a blood pressure cuff.......then I woke up, surgery done. I don't remember falling asleep, there was no counting down from 100, it was just a void in my mental timeline. When I woke up, the nurse walked me to the recovery area, gave me another warmed blanket, and called my ride. I had full mental capacity, (not like those crazy YouTube videos of people after their wisdom teeth came out) I was able to walk totally fine. I was in no pain! The nurse gave my driver all the instructions and walked me to her car. Then 4 hours after surgery the doctor called to check on me, see is I had any questions or concerns. It was such a present experience! I would recommend Dr Melendrez to everyone! I'm currently on day 2 of recovery, with minimal discomfort. I was prescribed plenty of pain pills to keep me comfortable, amoxicillin to fight off infection. I am so impressed with how my surgery went! If you need oral surgery, come here! The staff and doctor are amazing! The rooms are sterile and clean. I'm not sure why I waited so many years to get my wisdom teeth out! It was quite pleasant! read more

My son who is 21 was very comfortable with Dr. Melendrez and his recommendations. We ended up scheduling his surgery for several months later and received a written estimate and then a final estimate when the surgery was cleared with our insurance company. my sons surgery went so well and with so little discomfort after that I questioned whether or not the doctor really took out his wisdom teeth !! His price was very reasonable compared to the other estimate we received and I loved the great communication we received from the office staff. I was referred to Dr.Melendrez by Champagne dentistry for my wisdom teeth removal and I'm glad I was! The office in a very nice building and is well kept and clean, the staff were all extremely friendly, Dr.Melendrez was very pleasant and has great people and surgery skills. I opted to be put under anesthesia for the procedure and have very hard to hit veins, in the hospital I have had nurses attempt to place an IV 3-4 times. The Doctor took his time and got it the first time without issue, my surgery was quick and simple and my recovery went just fine. I even forgot about my follow up appointment (anesthesia makes you pretty loopy after) and rescheduled an hour before I was supposed to come in without issues. I had great care during my procedure, staff friendly, HOWEVER: after continuing to bleed after 5 hours i called the answering service (as my instructions noted). I NEVER received a call back, after another 2 hours i called my regular dentist, who helped with some different ideas. An hour later the bleeding slowed, and stopped. I believe Dr Melendrez is a good oral surgeon but he and his staff have absolutely zero bedside manner or compassion. They yelled at my daughter prior to her procedure because she was scared and told her to grow up, not acceptable (she's 15). Her procedure went well but I was completely unimpressed with how they interacted with all of us. Also be sure to check your bills from them. They billed us over the insurance allowable so double check your insurance statements. read more

Was very nervous and scared about going to the dentist but it had to be done. I was referred here by a dentist in Fernley because I needed wisdom teeth pulled. I met Elsia (nurse) and she took me back to get an easy x-ray and then talked with me about what teeth they were going to pull and why. Then we went into the surgery room, talked about how the sedation would be done, how long it should take, etc. She stayed with me to keep me calm. Then Dr. Falke came in and put me at complete ease. Excellent bedside manner. He answered all of my questions and made sure I was completely ready before he put in my IV. Got it on the very first try and I didn't really even feel it. Once I was in recovery he asked how I was doing. I had a little pain in the bottom jaw so he went and got more novocaine so I wouldn't be hurting. I was referred to Dr. Ryan Falke for removal of a #3 molar with infection around tooth and into sinus. I also have alot of bone loss and root canal was not an option. I had contacted other oral surgeons and each office was very nice but was a month or more for appt and some wanted to charge for a consultation before they would do surgery even though I had a regular dentist and a specialist both confirm a severe infection was around the tooth and into my sinus. I even had the referral documents, xrays and 3d's xray. I can not be put asleep during procedures so I am always nervous of how good the Dr. is when I will be awake for the whole thing. The office associate at Dr. Falkes' I spoke to on the phone was extremely easy and helpful. She could not quote an exact price but gave me a worse case cost. She was able to help get me in for surgery within the time period of my antibiotics. She called my dentist and arranged for the xrays and flash drive to be sent to her. At the appointment everyone was very nice and calm. Dr Falke discussed the procedure, gave me my shot of Novocaine. One of the best I have ever had. Reviewed all the xrays and 3d scans that were sent into the office, returned to discuss his findings and a action plan. The removal was quick. The pressure was in the right place and I did not bruise. He cleaned out alot of the infection. It was done. I was in shock how easy and quick it went. He called me in the evening to make sure I was ok. Not his nurse, but Dr. Falke himself called. I felt he truly cared and we had only met this once. I definitely will consider Dr. Falke for the possible upcoming bone grafs and implant. I was not charged for another consultation or another set of Xrays I did not need. I was provided a true discount for paying cash. Alot of places just raise the price and then give a discount. Thank you Dr. Falke and every one in your office. So glad I was referred to you. read more
