Being away from Reno for 10 years it was so refreshing to return to the same high quality dental care office!!! Dr. Trisha O'Gara is the dentist and still most of the same staff! Amazed that they remembered me and stopped in to say hello as I was in the chair. I was treated with great care and they pulled up prior X-rays and records! Cleaning was done and new fluoride applied. Left feeling all smooth and assured that dental car was taken care of. They take most insurances and are accepting new patients. read more

I have been asking for a refund of my overpayment to Ogara Dental since last December. Nothing but excuses and no money returned to me. OMG!!! This dentist office is amazing. As soon as i walked in, I knew this would be my new dentist. EVERYONE is so friendly, helpful. I was able to chat with a few of the girls and they are so personable. THey've been working for Dr. O'Gara for years. ETA: I got my new bridge just before Christmas , Dr. Ogara made sure the look and fit was perfect so it had to go back to the maker for adjustments. In the end it looked great and felt great. After 40 yrs it definitely needed to be replaced. I'm so happy with the results. read more

This was the first dental office I chose since moving to Reno. Dr Mike O'Gara has been awesome and I appreciate his kindness and transparency. I had a root canal and crown done by my previous dentist in 2018 and they did a poor job. My crown is lifted and there has been advanced decay because of it. Dr O'Gara was very straightforward with me in telling me that I could lose this tooth, but we are going to try and save it and put a new crown on. Patti is my hygienist and I love her, she's great. After less than stellar care - delayed appointments, misbilling, argumentative staff - I found that I had been billed twice for the same procedure. They billed me personally (which I paid on time) and then I got an EOB from my insurance company showing they'd paid for the same procedure. When I contacted the O'Gara office with EOB and cancelled check in hand, I was kicked out of the practice and told to find care elsewhere. Now, 6 months later, they have the nerve to send me an additional bill, saying it's over 90 days past due and will be charged 21% interest if not paid immediately. read more

It certainly takes a lot for me to leave bad reviews. Dr. O'Gara is by far one of the BEST dentist in the NV area. He is very caring and performs on the teeth very well. However, the front desk ladies are EXTREMELY RUDE. They have little to no patience. They gossip about other patients to each other. I've been hung up on several times. There is one receptionist that is a sweet heart but the other two acts as if they own the dam place. I simply would not recommend this office because of STACY and her partner in crime. A great practice! A faculty friend recommended Dr. O'Gara to me shortly after I moved to Reno, and I've been going ever since. My health insurance covers four cleanings a year and I loves me some clean teeth, so I go every three months. It has been easy for me to get appointments, especially on the days on which I'm only on campus in the afternoons. I'm a morning person, so I'd had appointments as early as 7:30 am, which suits me well. The hygienists are friendly and do their jobs well. I usually see Amanda, but I recently saw Patti and she was great, too. I've never had any cavities (whoo whoo!) or any dental issues since moving to Reno, so I don't often need to be seen by the doctor. But whenever he does stop by after a cleaning, he is always super personable and skilled. The waiting room is pleasantly equipped with comfy couches and recent magazines, and I've never been kept waiting past my stated appointment time. It is great to know that my appointments will start and end on time so that I can get to all the other plans I have made without allotting more than an hour for going to the dentist. I have been negligent in getting a dentist, but now that I have Medicare insurance, and a chipped tooth, I found Patricia O'Gara on my insurance list. I was very happy with her gentle demeanor and her conservative approach to doing things in a "most necessary to least necessary" manner. No pressure to do anything you don't want done, and gives you a plan that shows you exactly what she discussed in detail. "Dental Rape" is the best term I can think of to describe my experience with Dr. O'Gara. Too long; didn't read version: Basically, the dentist performs "additional" work on healthy teeth and does so without informing his patients. I have no idea what might possess a doctor to sink as low as O'Gara (note: yes I do $$$), but my encounter with him was the first time in my life I felt assaulted in the dentist's chair. There aren't many sensations more unpleasant than finishing up at the dentist's office, going to the counter to pay and then, and only then, being informed that MULTIPLE teeth--well beyond what I had gone to see O'Gara for--had been filled and root canalled while I was under sedation. I would NEVER have agreed to a procedure as extreme as a root canal if given the option. The experience was akin to some kind of dental date rape, except instead of getting wined and dined first, O'Gara proceeded straight to the drilling. As another reviewer pointed out, Dr. O'Youneedarootcanal seems to have a nasty habit of not informing his patients of work he's done on them until he's already finished; e.g., you go to O'Gara to fill a cavity (singular) that's been bothering you, he fills the cavity and tells you (after his drill has cooled down) that he needed to fill five other cavities and you now owe him 2,000 dollars which is coincidentally the maximum amount of money your insurance will pay for dental in a year. This dentist is running a scam, plain and simple. Avoid Dr. "Only in the loosest of terms" O'Garra if you value your teeth and hard earned cash. read more

Dr. O'Gara is the best dentist I have ever had. I am extremely happy with him, all of the staff, & dental hygienists at this office! Dr. O'Gara is very aware of your comfort, and does everything possible to make sure you aren't in pain - he is always stopping to ask if you are okay during procedures, and even offers a blanket if you are cold. Dr. O'Gara saw me quickly after a check up when a problem tooth was discovered despite a very full schedule, and was willing to come in very early the next morning to fix the problem before my insurance expired the next month - and he even offered his cell phone number to contact him with any problems over the weekend after the procedure. My dental hygienist is the sweetest thing, she's very kind and gentle. All of the front desk staff are polite, friendly and seem to be genuinely concerned for you as a patient and as a person. I can't say enough nice things about this office. After a long period of not having dental insurance, and going through several other offices who made me feel very insecure and unwelcome, it was a relief to be recommended this dentist office. Dr Mike and Dr. Trish are two of the best dentists I have ever met. Finding a dentist you trust is scary and often overwhelming even in a small city such as Reno. I couldn't be happier with the care my family and I receive here. Additionally, I am often blown away on how advanced and skilled Dr. Mike is and couldn't imagine going anywhere else in town. The dentist I saw was fine. However, the hygienist was rude, condescending, and seemed to be rushed. Also, nobody seemed to actually know what was going on. The dentist said everything was fine, but as I was leaving I was told I needed to come back to get cavities treated. Then on the administrative side there was a lot of confusion over what was covered and was not. It took a while to get straightened out and now I'm paying out of pocket for things I didn't need. From taking a panic phone call at 10:30 p.m. following a softball game where I got hit in the mouth and had a chippped tooth - he met me at his office and took care of my injury that night, to regular check ups every 6 months, I must say that I have the best dentist.
