This is a great local salon! The women that work that are professional, kind, and personal. Trish is my stylist and just gave me the best haircut I've ever had. They are so good about squeezing me in, and I love that they all know me by my first name. The owner Kelly runs the front desk most of the time. The many rave reviews here created high hopes and expectations for my visit to Silvermoon, so I was really set up for disappointment, right? But they came through in every way! I was treated really nicely by everyone, and it didn't break the budget. Also, I was introduced to a hair product that I fell in love with. I've tried but can't seem to find an inexpensive "good enough" equivalent, so I'll probably break down and buy it on my next visit. I expect to become a regular at Silvermoon. read more

My first visit to this salon and I had my best haircut ever! I have extremely thick, curly hair and Tori spent an hour and a half making it super manageable and gave me a super cut too! Something to note is there is a $10 charge if your haircut takes longer than a standard time slot allows. The salon is beautiful inside and the feel is relaxed and upscale. Loved it. My boyfriend went and told me to check it out. Loved the decor/ atmosphere. My coat was taken and I was offered coffee, water or wine. While I was waiting for color to set I was offered a complimentary hand massage and color change. Kaley was my stylist and she did such a good job matching my natural color and then making my hair look so fresh. Everyone so nice and welcoming. Going back for sure! read more

i made a consultation with suzanne and i decided to get balayage. we did a test strip since i had existing box dye in my hair just to see how things would turn out and to see if i needed color correction instead. she gave me a price i was okay with. so i made an appointment. a few days before my appointment i got a message that suzanne was sick and i could reschedule with someone else or wait til she's available, i decided to go with someone else. i show up for my new appointment with mariella. she's so sweet and nice and decides i needed a color correction. which was charged by the hour. i honestly am shy and didn't know what to say so i kind of sat there n tried to do the math in my head.. i knew it was going to be significantly larger than what i was quoted by suzanne but this was a different stylist who was a higher level and had different opinions and like i said i am shy and do not like confrontation. so i sat there and let her do my hair which turned out really pretty, it's not what i was expecting but i really like it. i talked to my friend about the pride i paid at the end and i was upset about it and she was sort of shocked too so she suggested i reach out to the salon which i did and i sort of explained the situation and they were understanding. i honestly just wish i knew i was going to be quoted a different price and an hourly rate instead before i booked with mariella. which i explained. because if i knew i was going to be paying for color correction i would have waited for suzanne to get over being sick! i am 24 which i also explained and don't have a huge income but after talking with the owners they were very understanding and fixed the situation so that we were all happy. on the phone kelly kept saying " if i come back" and i will definitely be coming back to this salon even after all of this. i think when a business really wants to do right by their customers / clients it shows they really care and i've had issues at salons before and they just offered to re do things / fix them and they they usually end up being even farther than what i was going for. i will post some before and afters. ps! lisa is the sweetest girl. she just seems so happy to be at work and help out the stylists. i wish i was that happy in my own work environment. read more

Cannot lie but, I am definitely disappointed. I went in for a color & cut. I asked for an all over permanent even brown color with a little bit of a red tint. It hasn't even been a week my color uneven, faded & has a ashy/green. The stylist was very nice and I got a great cut, buuuuut I'm extremely unhappy with my color! Can't say I'd recommend or come back to this salon is the future. read more

The stylist was rude. I just felt like she could have cared less and didn't make me feel comfortable. I got a Brazilian Blowout from another stylist who was very nice but it didn't last at all. I can't say enough good things about this salon. I made and appointment for my 10 year old daughter to get her shoulder length hair cut into a pixie. This was our first visit to the salon and hairstylist (T) so we were nervous and not sure what to expect, especially with such a dramatic change. She loves her haircut! T asked a lot of questions and looked over pictures to make sure she gave my daughter what she wanted. The staff was very friendly. The owner offered to have another stylist give my other daughter a braid while she waited. Needless to say she was thrilled. read more

I made the terrifying switch from my hair stylist back in MN to a local establishment. Silvermoon Salon, and more specifically my stylist Amber, have both been a welcome change. Amber has cut and highlighted my hair, giving me the long layers and subtle, natural color I really wanted. I'm getting married and she offered to color my hair based on my trial style the next time I'm in to show off my highlights perfectly. A cut and highlights was $100, with a touch up being $40. Reasonably priced for a nice area, and will give you a discount for anyone that you refer. I will remain a loyal customer for sure! read more

This salon is amazing! I came in yesterday after a horrible experience with a hair stylist I've been going to for several years. I expressed my concern to the receptionist and she was willing to make an appointment for me for the next day. Instead, I was able to be seen by Sam that very day. I've been going downtown to get my hair done for years and recently decided to try to find a new salon closer to my home in Willowbrook. I saw that the reviews for Silvermoon were stellar, so I called this morning to see if someone could squeeze me in for a same-day appointment. I spoke to Michelle, and she was so professional and friendly. She setup an appointment for me with Amber, who did an AMAZING job on my full foil blonde highlight, glaze, and hair trim to correct unevenness from a recent haircut-gone-wrong at my old Chicago salon. She was very nice, personable, and made me feel comfortable the whole 1.5-2 hours it took to deal with my very long hair. Everything was reasonably priced and apparently they apply a $20 credit toward your next service when you're a new client. I was beyond pleased with the whole experience, and Amber has a new client for life :) read more

My husband surprised me with getting my hair done for our anniversary. I've always wanted to try this place but never treated myself to it. My husband found it on yelp all on his own and I'm so glad. Tori did my partial highlights, cut and style. She was super professional and friendly. She made me so comfortable and felt like she genuinely cared. This is the first time where the beauty shop chit chat was enjoyable and memorable. She talked of all good things about her job, the salon, her bosses and coworkers. As already mentioned by others, the quality level of this salon is truly top notch. The woman at the desk listened to my concerns and suggested a stylist, made the appointment and warmly welcomed me when I arrived. The salon is a lovely, serene, beautifully decorated space. I've seen 3 different stylists in the year and a half I've been coming here, all excellent and involved, talented and experienced. Amber is my consistent first choice. I've been a regular at Silvermoon salon since it opened and due to my own crazy schedule have had my hair done by Samantha, Liz and most recently, Tricia. I typically get color, highlights and cut/blow dry when I go to the salon. Each time I go, I feel pampered with a bevvie of choice and wonderful conversation. Everyone is professional and part of the positive mindset that this salon exudes. From the reception staff, Michelle and Kelly to the shampoo gals to the stylists, they all seem to love what they do and go to great lengths to make sure I keep coming back. I had the same stylist at another salon for a long time, but she went on maternity leave and I decided to try Silvermoon because it had great reviews. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt welcome and comfortable. I live in the area and thought I would give this salon a try after having gone to Salon Hype a few doors down the last few times I've needed a haircut. I'm so glad I did. The atmosphere is chic, and the staff is down-to-earth, friendly and welcoming. My stylist was Tory and she did an excellent job with my natural curly hair, cutting it dry and flat ironing it exactly how I wanted. I subtracted one star from the rating since the haircut was a little steep ($60 for my cut and $10 added since my hair is really thick) but I think it's a decent value for the excellent service you get. I went in for my first visit and loved it!! I went to Jodie and she was great she was able to save my hair and not need to cut such a huge length. My hair is so light and healthy! The Salon itself is so chic and beautiful definitely enjoyed the atmosphere. The location is a little off the Main Street of the downtown Lagrange area but it's a nice hidden gem. I went here for the first time to have my hair & make up done for my wedding. I LOVED this place and all of the services they performed. Katelyn did my make-up and not only did an amazing job, but she was so fun to talk to. Tziritzy styled my hair and she was so sweet and gave me exactly what I wanted. I had a backyard wedding and was going for a "beauty/ boho" look and she delivered! The prices were affordable and the service was fantastic! And lastly the customer service was amazing! Kelly was so kind and helpful every time I called and made it work when the scheduling was tight. I had some last minute requests from family members to get their hair and make up done too and she worked really hard to make it happen. Then they had to cancel at the last minute!! I felt horrible after she worked so hard to fit us all in (on my wedding day) but she was very understanding and nice about it.
