If you chose to go to this salon, please do your research and make sure that the stylist you are requesting specializes in that area. Be careful! Really conflicted on this review because the salon staff was very helpful and my stylist was very nice. I called the salon to book for the following week, hoping they could get me in. I told them what I wanted, babylights, and that I have not gotten my hair done in 6 months. Then when I went to the salon, I showed the stylist pictures of my own hair from the last time I had gotten it done and showed her pictures in multiple different lighting. The only thing I wanted to change was the tone slightly. The stylist acted extremely confident. As she started to do my hair, I knew it wasn't right. Essentially, I was given extremely chunky and streaky highlights that did not even go to my root. My hair looked like it was already multiple weeks grown out. Unsatisfied with the results, especially as I kept looking at my hair, I told the salon. The staff was incredibly helpful and made an appointment to get it fixed immediately. I went to get my hair fixed and explained in depth everything that I did not like. This stylist also seemed very confident. Again, as she was foiling my hair something seemed off. She even added in a few low lights, which ended up being darker than my natural hair color. In the end, i was even less satisfied with my hair and I think even the stylist knew it was bad. Now I have to try and find another salon to fix the mess because I don't want to go back. The lowlights may not lighten properly and overall I am very upset. I am happy that the salon was so helpful but I would advise you to make sure that your stylist specializes in what you are getting done. I am just writing this to warn people and I've learned my lesson. read more

I am NOT an easy color to achieve, ice blond, with lightener (bleach). I remember the first appointment I made, with the senior colorist, Jenny. I had no intention of same day application appointment, so I scheduled a *consultation*only*. You see I just moved to the area and had tried out FOUR different stylist in the past 18 months; between where I previously lived and moving out to La Grange. After the consultation between Jenny and I, I took a night to sleep on it, google the Redken reviews of their lightener, and eventually was satisfied enough to give Jenny and the team at Sean Patrick's a try! Let me tell you; I was so pleased that I've just booked my 3'rd and 4'rd appointment after only trying them out in early April 2019. I must share about the amazing team here. Any of the phone-gals are sweet and helpful, I remember Donna helping me the most. Senior Stylist/Colorist is Jenny and SHE is my go-to. I trust her knowledge and skill. I too am licensed cosmetologist and also esthetician. My last appointment was this past Tuesday, and Audra assisted Jenny with my all over root touch up, (which I booked at 11:42pm, a *noon* appointment). Thankfully for Audra's top notch skill, the application was much faster and my head was farrrrr lesssss sensitive than last time. 4 hands are better than 2. So we found a new approach, and needless to say; I'm thrilled for the end result. The timer came out MUCH better this time. Violet only with some clear. I always leave here happy. And today was a phenomenal execution of team work, that alone was so comforting to know, not just the wonderful hair Houdini I book with but also Audra, both enduring quick and knowledgeable work to achieve successful end results for my root lift; thank you ladies. What a great experience I had today! I am on their email list and saw their 25th anniversary services for the week which included choice of either a $25 no chip manicure or a $25 classic pedicure. I went with the pedicure and I'm so happy I did! Let me start by saying I have been a customer for quite a few years, whether it be for a haircut, wax, or $15 Friday manicure. I do not go quite as often as I would prefer, since their prices do tend to be on the higher side. I sometimes check out other places. Today was the first time I used their pedicure services. I was escorted to my own private room, unlike other options in the area where you are practically breathing down your neighbors' necks. The music was soothing, unlike the pounding beats in other pedicure locations. I am sure it is also because their massage and waxing services were down the same hall. Nonetheless, it definitely set the tone. Ela did my pedicure, and it was honestly one of the best I have ever had. She started by offering me a drink, which I appreciated. She did not rush through anything, paying particular attention to each and every one of my toes. I felt like I was melting in the chair, and I didn't even have the massage options on! She was absolutely engaging and professional the entire time. The check out was very easy. I paid and then left my tip in a personalized envelope which was then dropped into a tiny slot at the entrance. This place is definitely 4.5 stars, and I will return. Although they do charge higher prices, it is oftentimes worth it in an environment such as this. I want to go back and check out their massages! read more

I received a gift card to this salon from my boyfriend's mom and decided to put it toward a pedicure. It's kind of interesting, for a pedi at this place, you're in your own small private room. It's big enough for your spa foot tub and chair. It was all really nice and the young lady was very sweet. They use tons of frilly products which was nice but not necessarily important. Also, I think it's just my personality, but I do not prefer to be chit-chatty when I am in a spa. I prefer to read magazines, so though my pedicurist was really friendly, I wished she'd just let me read. The pedicure was a lot more expensive than what I'm used to, but it was nice for a treat. I will not go back again unless I have another gift card because I tend to be happy with regular pedi's and prefer not to spend $50. The young ladies at the front of the shop seemed a bit snobby but again I am probably just used to a different setting. read more

Showed the stylist 3 pictures with long bangs. I specifically said that when the bangs are dry, I wanted them at a Goldie Hawn length- like my pics showed. When she was done drying and styling my hair, the bangs were at least a half inch above my eyebrows. Never went back and I never should've paid. read more

This was my first time here, but the inside is very nice. Very Disappointing. After spending over $500 at Sean Patrick Salon, this is how my Keratin treatment looked after the first wash. Jessica Rose was very nice and I received a good cut, color and highlights. However, the Keratin smoothing treatment that I also received, did not work. When I went back to the salon to show Jessica Rose that the Keratin treatment did not seem to work, she asked for the opportunity to perform the process again. I agreed and spent another afternoon at the salon so that it could be done correctly. To my further disappointment, the second process performed did not work either. When I called Jessica Rose to tell her, she said that the owner suggested that I come back in a third time to try some different products on my hair to try to smooth it. She stated that she had no idea why the Keratin treatment did not work. I then stated that I certainly should not have to pay for a treatment that they were unable to perform. Jessica Rose said she couldn't do anything about it, but would talk to the owner about the situation. That was approx. 2 weeks ago. I have yet to hear back from anyone at the salon. I never received an apology for all of my wasted time, an explanation for why the treatment did not work or any sort of refund or credit for the service that I clearly did not receive. I have been a business owner for over 25 years and I can't imagine charging a customer for a service I was unable to deliver. Sean Patrick's business procedures are very disappointing, to say the least, as they are obviously using either expired or inferior products on people's hair and they do not stand behind there services. read more

I have been going to Sean Patrick's for at least 10 years, probably longer. I would even come back there to get my hair cut while i was living in the city instead of finding someone else i trusted down there. I go to Anna currently but have also gone to Donna, Kim and Linda - and they are all fantastic. I also had my hair and makeup done (as did the rest of my bridal party) here on my wedding day. I also go to Judy for facials and waxing and have alwyas had great experiences with her as well. I have to agree with some of the other reviews that SP is a bit on the pricey side, but I think it's worth it to find a spa full of quality staff. The only service I might not recommend SP for is manicures/pedicures - i haven't had a BAD experiene but they are just overpriced for the same quality you can get at a cheaper place. read more

If you are looking for a true hair SYLIST you can find her at this salon. I went to Kim after a botched hair color/cut experience and she is the absolute best colorist and stylist I've ever worked with. She studied with the pro's, has loads of experience and is constantly updating her skill sets which means she can look at your face shape, skin color, body type, etc. and create the right cut/color for YOU. I don't tell her what I want, I ask her to do what will make me look great and she does. Truly. I know when I leave her my hair has just become one of my best assets :) I've been a client of hers for about 4 years now and have become a regular there. I really don't know how others have commented on the service there negatively. The women at the front are SUPER nice and friendly to my husband & I, always ready with a smile and a compliment, very accomodating when booking appointments. I have not experienced an 'attitude' there at all. In fact, quite the opposite - we often have our 2 boys with us as my husband & I do our cuts at the same time and they are even incredibly friendly towards and tolerant of having 8 & 11 yr old boys doing homework & playing at the front waiting area! First and last time here. While Ela was amazing, the customer service gals at the front desk were snooty, classist witches. I walked in with an appointment. I waited at the counter for 7 minutes before they acKnowledged me. Their attitude was awful. Then I sat and waited until 10 minutes after my appointment time before they told Ela I was there. While in Ela's care, it was perfect. She is fabulous at deep tissue and got all the kinks out. She is gentle but firm. And she does not try to make small talk for the sake of small talk. But, again, at the front desk to leave, I had to wait until the girls finished their conversation before they took my payment. I did not feel comfortable with their attitude. I was Leary of putting my tip to Ela in their hands. A quick word to Sean Patrick: teach your front line people how to be warm and friendly to everyone, not just one another or people who look and sound like them. read more

It got to be with the haircut and tip I was at $100. And I just couldn't afford to go as often anymore. I had a dermabration with Andrea who is wonderful and fun to talk to. Also very knowledgeable about the process. Then I had a hair appointment with Jessica Rose, I was skeptical but went for it. So happy I did, she did an amazing job and blow dried my hair beautifully which I don't get many times with new hair dressers. I went back with a picture of a color I wanted to try and again, she nailed it. I love love love it! Staff is very professional, salon is very nice and beautifully maintained. Love Teresa...she is wonderful and really takes the time to find out what are wanting and also tells you based on your hair what would be best. They are a little pricey but it is totally worth it. They will suggest the products that they use on your hair but there isn't pressure to buy. I sometimes can't make it in for a hair cut for 4-5 months because of my job and I have never felt like I am treated any differently then someone who would come once a month. In fact I wanted to try to do a foil to add some highlights to my hair and balance out some of the grey that I now have but I was concerned about how it would look when it started to grow out. She ended up doing a semi permanent color so it would also start to fade as it grew out so that I wouldn't have to rush back to the salon in between work trips if I had back to back trips. I was extremely happy with how it looked once it was done and over a month later I am still happy with the way it looks which is good because I will be traveling for another 3 weeks. read more

I've been going here for about 6 years. Jenny gives great cuts and colors. I started going there when I got an awful haircut and color and haven't left since! Anna is great for up-dos. They also have Kerastase products that I love. It's a bit pricey, by the way my hair looks afterwards is well worth it. They also have other spa services, but haven't tried them yet. Only problem is that they are soooo busy (especially on Saturday's when I have my appointments). So sometimes my appointment is running 10-15 minutes behind. Recently I've been going to Ela for deep tissue massages, and each experience has been sooo nice. She has worked some problem areas into much better (as in, why didn't I try this earlier) range of motion and decreased pain. Any request or concern I have is handled with care and a healing approach. She runs on time, is very knowledgeable and ensures your comfort with her quietly friendly demeanor. Recently (one of the weeks where the heat was horrid) the Metra trains were a mess - I called to let them know the situation. The desk staff were very nice (I ended up calling 3 times, as the train was ultimately 45+ minutes late) and Ela was gracious about the whole thing. I have been getting no-chip manicures for a few years now. I'm pretty familiar with how they're supposed to go. The removal charge is included in the price at every other place I've ever gone to. Here, they charge $10 to go along with their already over priced services. To add insult to injury, it was already the worst no-chip manicure I've ever received. It started chipping in 3 days instead of 2 weeks. To go along with poor service, the front desk staff is horrendous. You work at the front desk - you're the face of the salon. Perhaps you should not be so completely rude to everyone that walks in and act like you're so much better than everyone else. Find another place of employment if that is the case. read more
