I've been to Dina's twice now, and both experiences have been good. The prices are very reasonable, the service is excellent, and the staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming. Well, Guille- a very talented cutter who really cared- is now gone from Dina's and dealing with her own life and I wish her well. Dina's has limped onward. We had two good cutters over the last two years, but can no longer find them. The 31st st location has had a minor facelift, but we were completely disappointed with the (lack of) talent now employed there at our cut today. I specified what I did NOT want, and that is exactly what the cutter DID do. And it was NOT a language problem, either. Miscuts around the ear, chopped my eyebrows (and not evenly either) when I told her NOT to, warned her NOT to cut my cowlick too short, and she darn near scalped it. Thought she was checking in with me about the length she had cut the hair before her final trim. Huh? you're done????? Sorry, Dina- I know good talent is hard to find and harder to keep, but when someone goes AGAINST my requests just to finish in record time- about 5-6 minutes- to help bag her $120 an hour, then count me out!!! Best thing today? Reruns of Bluebloods were on the TV. read more

I wouldn't go here!!! She rushed through my cut with cheap scissors. Nothing about my cut was even. Not worth it even at $7 a cut!!

I wouldn't recommend. Went today and chair #4 rushes cutting your hair and might have clippers from the dollar store. Her clippers cut unevenly. When you ask her a question she makes an ugly face. Would not recommend. I guess you get what you pay for. ‍ read more

I just needed a simple trim and wasn't looking to pay a lot. The everyday price is 7.99 for a cut so I thought I'd try it. The stylists there aren't into small talk-which I like. My cut was done in 19 minutes and I wasn't pressured into getting a wash, blow dry/style. read more

I came in for a light trim, since my hair was roughly at the length and in the shape I like it at. All I wanted is the hair cleaned up on the back and sides, and GOODBYE!! Well the (gorgeous) woman cutting my hair too wee bits off here and there, and I soon realized that she was gentle and unobtrusivel and correct the mistakes of my earlier hair stylist. She followed it up with a nice brow trim (perfect), and the charge was a whole $7.99. I left a four dollar tip, which was taking me time as I tried to figure how to ask her out ... words never fail me, but these words failed me. Good news is I'm returning, and if there aren'y any obvious love interests about, I think she and I will be spending the best time she's ever had! Don't come here for a hair cut unless you want your hair jacked up. My 16 year son came the day before homecoming. He has beautiful curly hair. He showed the lady a previous picture of a hair cut he had done elsewhere. He told her not too short. Seeing the picture, I would think she would have known how he wanted it. Instead she cut it so short and uneven that now we just have to wait for it to grow out. The timing is horrible since tomorrow is his homecoming dance. They should revoke her cosmetology license. People should not cut hair to experiment on them. Had I known that he needed one of his of us there to supervise a simple haircut, we would have gone with him. The price is great ($7.99), and some of the staff do a nice, even great job (Guillermina, Kathy, Netza (spelling?), and Gloria. Guillermina did a wonderful job giving my high-school daughter a cute short hairstyle after she'd had shoulder-length hair for years. She kept the cute waves in the back and left it long on top, as my daughter requested. Today, I brought my daughter in for a trim, and she specifically asked for a 1/4 inch off. The beautician who cut her hair, not one of those named above, gave her a totally mannish haircut. She dragged out a clippers right away, and I had to insist on a scissors cut. When my daughter reiterated that she wanted just 1/4 inch off the top, the woman asked, "This much?" showing about an inch. We both told her to take off much less than that, and she still hacked off at least 3-4 inches. She asked my daughter if the back looked good, and she concurred, but then the woman clipped it even higher, gave her sidewalls before I could catch her, and cut her wispy hairs in front of her ears into sideburns. This is the same one who totally messed up my son's haircut a few months ago so that we had to return for a fix. Hers can't be fixed: it's going to have to grow for a LONG time to get back to looking more girlish. read more
