We attended a financial seminar that was held at Silverthorn Country Club on Tuesday evening. When dinner was served, it was served as a buffet. We groaned as at most places buffet food is always dry or undercooked. Yet somehow Silverthorn managed to perfect their Lasagna & Shrimp Scampi. They were moist & flavorful. I do have to say the Chicken Parmesan was a little dry, but we can ignore that as it was still delicious. There was a fresh mixed salad and a fresh pasta salad. Both were served with a dressing that did not over power & did not make the salads soggy. Both salads were delicious. The rolls at the buffet were very good & served warm. We asked the server Caleb for butter & he delivered by bringing out a bowl of individually wrapped pats of butter & placed it at the buffet table with the rolls. Caleb was a rock star as he accommodated everyone's questions & needs. He was always smiling, friendly & all around pleasant. We are looking forward to the next event. read more

Hey, we did the Easter brunch. Food was OK. Need a lot more breakfast items. The layout was horrible. Had to wait in line over 1015 minutes. Being a business owner for over 16 years in this county I could never imagine people being treated so poorly from an establishment. Please read the screen shots....I made a reservation for today Father's Day. The menu looked good and thought my 91 yr old dad and 94 yr old mom would enjoy a peaceful dinner and a car show. We arrive, was told to sit anywhere because they don't do reservations, though as you see I was told to. So there's a table set for 6, as I reserved for with a tablecloth. We sit here. The host greats us with a paper menu for the car show. Hot Dogs, Hamburger and about 3 other items. I state I was told the "Standard Menu" would apply. NOPE host states owner changed his mind at the last minute. Speak to Manager, she can't do anything. I said I would not get my parents out to have a hot dog in this place, so many great food trucks for that. Poor thing tried to offer discount coupon, I refused, won't be back. She said the owner was cooking the dogs out side so there I went, with a crowd of other dining customers trailing behind me routing me on. I approached the owner after the Manager warned him I was coming. I stated my case, I showed him the messenger conversation and he says we won't cook anything else today. He blames the situation on whoever responds to posts, instead how according to all employees he changed the menu last minute. He said he didn't care what I went thru to get my parents there. And when I stated he is obviously a terrible owner who does not have a team working together and has no clue what is going on with his own business, I told him all 6 of us would not be back. His statement was good, I'm glad you won't be back." That restaurant has struggled for years. This man will just continue to run it in the ground with that attitude. Idc if you have the best food in the world, if your customer service and attitude sucks you will have no business. No apology, no remorse, no "customer is always right," nothing. Hey Silverthorn! It is the Christmas holidays! Answer the phone for reservations! I have been calling the restaurant and banquet services since 8 :30 a.m. trying to make luncheon reservations for next week. I can understand being kind of laid back about the phone at other times of the year but Christmas season is when you make your money. Get on it people!UPDATE: today is the second day I am calling Silverthorne Country Club at the restaurant extension and also the banquet manager extension trying to schedule a reservation for next Tuesday for lunch for 10 people. No one called me from the phone calls I placed yesterday yet. I started calling today after 9:00 a.m. thinking that maybe they're just not available early in the morning. Golf course is nice, lots of bunker make for a challenge. 2 Stars because of food service and I'm taking about just going in to get hotdogs making the turn after 9. Just slow, got pass by two group one day waiting 30 minutes for 2 hotdogs, somehow waitress just forgot to put my order in as I'm standing there for 30min at the bar looking at her. Then she yelled at the cooks when she realized what she did wrong. Didn't play back 9, got vouchers, told guy at clubhouse what happened, he got mad at my friend and I for wanting to leave after a slow 2 1/2 hour front nine waiting on groups ahead and then waiting on hotdogs. We had our wedding and reception at Silverthorn CC and it was absolutely beautiful! The Grand Ballroom was where we held the reception and it was huge! Pleanty of room for everything we needed and more. Deb and her crew were amazing! They made sure my husband and I didn't have to lift a finger and had everything ready on time! The staff were very friendly and professional! Jen also volunteered her services and went above and beyond with little surprises for us! Silverthorn Country Club has a terrific restaurant and nice little bar area. The restaurant has quite a varied menu that will please most any craving. After some mixing and mingling at the bar, we decided to dine there. I settled on the Imperial Scallops, and oh my goodness...they were melt-in-your-mouth delectable. Pan seared with herbs, mushrooms and a lobster sauce; while the scallops were small, the portion was too big for me to finish. The side of spinach and the baked potato went home with me and were really good at lunch the following day. Silverthorn has a really nice community vibe and we even chimed in to sing Happy Birthday along with the neighboring table. This morning's brunch was quite disappointing at best. It took 40 minutes to get our food and there were only 3 other tables with customers! The grits were dry as a bone, we had to get up to find someone to get us butter, sugar, and jelly (these items are always readily available at any breakfast place)(the server was no where to be found), the hashbrowns were NOT brown and tasted "old", my over easy eggs were over medium, and I found a rather large piece of bone in my sausage link. I don't believe in returning food for fear of retaliation from the kitchen staff. Yes, that does happen. Such a shame! read more

As you all know I'm partial to a burger. Had the burger at Silverthorn on Saturday at lunch and it's up there with some of the better burgers in the last taste test that I did. We went for the Thanksgiving Buffet because we expected it would be great at $35 a plate. Never have I been so disappointed. They had a lot of Staff but mostly they seemed confused and somewhat cranky since we had three different servers come up and ask us what we wanted to drink. Not one of these servers directed us for the dining room since we were on the outside by the bar area. Once we figured that out the disappointment became clear. The offerings for the day included The Usual suspects, nothing extravagant or of a culinary expertise nature. The corn and green beans were right out of the can. The mashed potatoes were boxed I am sure as was the sweet potatoes with required burnt marshmallows on top. The turkey was pressed, Geez Louise, this is Thanksgiving! And not Denny's or so I thought. The stuffing was stale bread and unseasoned with crunchy celery. HELLO sauté 101! And should I mention the cold lumpy gravy right out of the can with that unappetizing Telltale brown color? And the cold unheated rolls? Moving on to the desserts was equally sad. Pumpkin, apple, and pecan required pies straight out of Walmart, with the required cold plastic like dollop of some sort of Cool Whip on top. Box Cookies and waxy little cakes equally gross and unappetizing. So I would not recommend this Buffet ever. I don't know what I expected living in Spring Hill. Evidently people here have settled for Less. This was the standard fare for the fat population here I suppose. I most definitely would not recommend this place for the public. Appetizer bang bang calamari or more like it, rubber bands smothered in sweet sauce.. next mmm..microwaved buns with butter just this side of rancid served with an olive oil dip that tasted like it was scooped from an old gym shoe. Had the special hamburgers of very low quality beef on brioche bun ( the bun was delicious) sweet potato and regular fries with the burgers saved the whole meal from being a total puke fest. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! New management=FOOD POISONING! I once lived here & always thought this place was overpriced and marginal at best (example a can of Bud Light $4.50.) Others in my neighborhood shared the same opinion; most likely why they were never busy. My family went for Easter Brunch & it was the single most HORRENDIOUS experience we've ever had at any resturaunt. The staff was just awful, we were shrugged off to seat ourselves, we never got any water (service charge on bill was for $22.88 for what???) All the food, scrambled eggs, nasty fried fish, eggs benedict & prime rib were UNSAFELY COLD! Not just luke warm, but disgusting, inedible & cold. I witnessed people not allowing their children to eat the disgustingly unsafe food and everyone was complaining, but no one was reacting to fix the temperature issue. They advertised 4 types of meat and only had 2, ham & cold beef. My grandmother had them make her a waffle that was so burnt on 1 side she couldn't eat it. I couldn't believe that they were also charging $3 for a tiny glass of juice at a buffet that costs $27.99. I've heard that it's under new management who should be immediately FIRED. My husband was so upset & he waited for an hour in a line of @ 50 people who were all filing complaints. Even though we couldn't eat the food & had to get food elsewhere later, we ended up still being forced to pay $100 for nothing while other people were crumpling up their bill & throwing them at the staff as they walked out the door. My suggestion, run for your life & call the health department! Don't eat here if you don't like getting worms, food poisoning or some other parasite! This new restauraunt manager is a b*tch who does not care about your health. I hope karma finds her & she gets sick 10 fold for consciously affecting all those people with unsafe food; most of which were elderly & children. Way to ruin everyone's holiday. read more

My wife and I had lunch at Silverthorn last week. The food was excellent, however the service was poor...it appeared their reservation and service support process needed improvement. I know the Silverthorn restaurant is under new management and is working to improve all aspects of the club, We plan to return soon...hopefully the new owners will have worked on improvements. read more

This is a golf course country club and the restaurant was recently taken over by Nick Cessa, who has had years of restaurant experience. The food is now very good and well worth a trip back, if you experienced so-so with the last ownership. They are open Weds thru Sat for dinner. read more
