But if want a more laid back experience you may want to stay more on the north/south end of the strip or something like Vdara.

Unsafe balconies beware…read more Per security direct quote: "this happens at least once every three months". My experience at this hotel was extremely concerning because of a serious safety issue with the balcony door. I stepped onto the balcony, and when the door closed behind me, it locked, leaving me trapped outside. It was approximately 110°F. Fortunately, I had my phone with me and was able to call for help. Had I not had my phone, this could have become a dangerous situation very quickly. When I reported the issue to the manager, rather than showing concern, she was condescending and made me feel as though I had somehow caused the problem. I specifically told her that I did not believe another guest should be placed in that room until the balcony door was repaired because it was unsafe. I had paid extra for a room with a balcony, yet I could not safely use it for the remainder of my stay. Because I was traveling for work and had a very demanding schedule, changing rooms at the last minute was also extremely difficult. I just chose not to use the balcony anymorez What bothered me even more was being told that if I filed a formal safety report, they would not be able to refund the additional amount I had paid for the balcony. That placed me in an unacceptable ethical position: either report a legitimate safety hazard so another guest would not be placed at risk, or remain silent in order to receive a refund. Of course, I chose to report the safety issue. After considerable discussion, I was eventually refunded approximately $130 related to the balcony charge. However, the way the situation was handled--particularly the manager's dismissive and condescending attitude--was unacceptable. I would not stay at this hotel again. Even if my work required travel to the same area, I would choose another property.

We were in Las Vegas for a concert at the Sphere, and one of the main reasons we chose to stay here was the convenience. Being able to walk through the resort and get around without relying on Ubers was a huge plus, especially on a busy concert night. Check-in was smooth, the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming, and our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. We were also upgraded, which was a very nice surprise. The highlight had to be the view of the Sphere from our room -- absolutely perfect for the concert we were attending. The Venetian is an experience in itself. The resort is massive, beautifully designed, and there's plenty to explore without even having to leave the property. For us, the ability to walk around, grab something to eat or drink, explore the resort, and head to the Sphere without worrying about transportation made the stay that much more enjoyable. We typically stay at MGM properties when we're in Vegas, so trying The Venetian was a change of pace for us. Based on this first experience, I'm glad we gave it a shot. Friendly staff, clean rooms, unexpected upgrade, an incredible Sphere view, and an extremely convenient location for a concert. We'll definitely be back. So it's kinda weird the concierge is not completely knowledgeable, but maybe it's unfair for me to expect them to know my own details. It's not like there are other BILT members out there or anything. I think we missed out on some "freebies" and feeling VIP or whatever. Regardless, Cherry, who checked us in, did a very good job at recommending places and explaining everything for our stay with our perks; and there was a lot of explaining. When I looked back, there was a line of 20 people. I watched some Youtube reviews on Fontainebleu and there was a perfume smell...to help mask the cigarette smell. The roses were real, which was nice. Some parts of the hotel were already falling apart/broken. I was hoping for the smell of fresh air...which is why I stayed in a Las Vegas casino. I liked the hallway to our room...it got more narrow towards the end. The room itself was O.K. One room had a tray for your keys and the other didn't. The view from one room was of a dirt patch. The upgraded room had the view of the A/C units. Can they at least decorate the roof top with artwork or something? My favorite part of the hotel room was the bathtub. I basically took multiple baths a day. I went to MGM and got scented bubble bath salts. There are a lot of restaurants that are mostly $$$-$$$$. Miami Slice was good - we kept our leftovers in the fridge and it actually tasted good cold. Chez Bon Bon was my go-to place for interesting crafted coffees (lots of lavender choices for a lavender-lover) and a box of pastries with nice presentation for gifts. The workers were also very friendly. La Cote was also pretty good - I loved the watermelon salad and our server, Joey, gave lots of good suggestions and made interesting conversation. The pools at Fontainebleu were rated highly by Youtubers. I can't say they are my favorite. We went at the end of August and the heat was so intense. I think the glass windows of the hotel reflect back down onto the pool area. The pools aren't deep, which I guess is good for kids, but this isn't really the family-oriented hotel. So on Saturday afternoon, the pool area was full of people standing in the pool with the water at waist level. I guess this is what people like to do at pools - stand in it. Who swims these days? The pool is so shallow and they have 4 life guards sitting there. Watching you stand. The workers at the hotel were all mostly friendly when you approach them. But a lot of the staff kind of just do their own thing. It's been a while since I've been to Vegas, but it's kind of a stark contrast after mostly going to normal hotels for the last few decades. Getting transport to Fontainebleu was convenient. We were able to get a Zuke's. We also walked to the Bellagio from Fontainebleu at midnight when it was cooler. FYI Zuke's stops around 11-12am. Also right across the street is Tacos El Gordo which was featured on a Netflix Taco documentary. It had super long lines around 10pm. The fresh tortillas were very good and it was chaotic, but a good experience. There's also another one by the airport that might be less busy. I don't think my stay at Fontainebleu was so amazing. I think the pools at Ceasar's was better. MGM looked like more fun (and family-friendly) and less ritzy. This hotel looked like it's catering more to the clubbing age group, which I'm not in. However, Fontainebleu did seem to have less smoke smell than MGM or Ceasar's. If you have a lot of money to splurge and spending money makes you feel good, this is the place to go. If you're more of a deal-hunter who likes to get a good bang-for-your-buck, then maybe come if you have some offers or coupons from third parties.

The clerk was both friendly and helpful. The main lobby is cavernous, with decor that's simple yet elegant. It creates an impression. Room Quality:: The Fontainebleau Las Vegas opened in 2023; but the room's furniture was well-kept, and free from excessive wear that might hint at heavy use. The carpet looked fresh, with no stains or tears in sight. Regarding the bed, the sheets were crisp and bright white. The mattress, pillows and duvet were comfortable. Bathrooms often show the most wear and tear, but this one was pristine. It was spacious. The layout was well-arranged. The towels looked like new, with a heavy pile and a crisp, bright white color. Sometimes when I travel, I like a room that's comfortable, but not so luxurious it makes me want to stay in all day. Other times, I want a inviting space to relax in, and the rooms here fit that bill perfectly. I found the décor, color palette, and furnishings appealing. I also think many hotel rooms lack sufficient lighting, but here there's plenty of it, along with the option to adjust it to your liking. Common Space:: Although I didn't use them myself, I was surprised to learn while walking the grounds that there are seven swimming pools on the premises. The setup is weird, there is an inside person and people outside. It seems like everything goes through the outside people, we could only drop our stuff with them and pick our stuff up at checkout, we have no idea what the inside guy did except to direct us outside. Also, by the time our room was ready, we couldn't even pick up the stuff at the bell desk, only delivered to the room. It said it would take 15 minutes but we had to call and because it was "so busy" we had to wait almost an hour for it. The massive sprawling casino has a lot of games to play and a lot of different venues for everyone. Minimums are high for table games (as expected) but there is still something for everyone to play. Cocktail service was slow at times, but Sandra was friendly and quick as well as made some delicious cocktails. Overall, it really is a nice property with some great stuff. But it does feel like it doesn't know how to properly control crowds and leaving you like you were truly at a 5 star resort.

There are separate elevators going to the Reserve Rooms. However, it is still shared with some of the upper floors from Park MGM. I know that other hotels on the strip have separate elevators exclusively for separate parts of the hotel. I really enjoyed my Atelier room. It was a little bit larger than the standard room. The distinguishing factor about this room is really the bathtub in the room. However, the bathtub itself seems to be a liability for the hotel. I have to say that someone can easily slip and fall in the bathtub. Use extreme caution when using the bathtub. I loved the European french decor. The toilet was a little far away from the bed, but I suppose that is good if you are traveling with somone so when they went to the restroom, it would be less noticable (more privacy, less noise). Since they are hardwood floors, I can hear chairs being moved around from the rooms above me during my stay. I was a little bit irked. Other than that, my stay was quite enjoyable at The Reserve.

The lobby where we checked in was super dark and moody. There was a lot of seating and nice decor. It was chilly in there which felt like a nice escape from the Vegas heat. It was relatively quick for us to get checked in and receive our keys. This dark and dramatic theme is carried throughout the hotel and to the guest room areas too. We were put in Rm 30-24, which we converted into an adjoining room with Suite 30-22. Our room felt small to me. The bed takes up the majority of the room with little walking space. There is a desk, flat screen TV, sofa, and small wardrobe. The closet is pretty spacious and has some robes, slippers, and a steamer. The sofa was very stiff and honestly looked a bit dingy. There were crumbs on the seat and the pillows were incredibly old and limp. I was hesitant to sit on it! The closet felt disproportionately large for the room. I would have preferred a smaller closet to have more space in the room itself. The rooms and hallways are all so dark. There is no overhead lighting, only tiny lamps throughout the room. I am personally not a fan of this as it made the room feel even smaller and claustrophobic. I understand they are trying to make it feel ambient and moody, but the way it was presented felt more like sleeping in a cave. Inside the closet was the brightest area of the hotel! If you choose to have a conjoined room, it is impractical to keep the doors open. When the adjoining doors are open, it is impossible to use the doors facing the hallway. Everything was cramped and the doors were constantly banging against each other. The bathroom was nice with a spacious shower. The water pressure was slightly better than average, but not super strong. They provided the usual amenities: shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower gel, cotton swabs + cotton pads, makeup remover wipes, and a shower cap. I must say, the shampoo and conditioner were spectacular. My hair felt super soft and had no frizz when it dried. It smelled very nice too. The rest of the hotel was just okay. There is not much to do besides lay at the pool and gamble. It is pretty quiet and laid-back. That being said, the casino was pretty small. I did like that it was non-smoking though so it was not suffocating to walk through it. I enjoyed the pool area. Despite it being a hot summer day, there was plenty of seating and lounge chairs available. The music the DJ was playing was really good and the pool was super chilly. This is definitely not my first choice for a Vegas hotel but I could stay here again.

However, for those of us who come to Vegas often, staying at those hotels often means higher prices and headaches with navigating around the busy traffic. Having stayed at most of the larger hotels (The Luxor, The Bellagio, Encore at Wynn, Park MGM etc) I've had my fill of the dazzling lights and boisterous crowds. I do recommend you try these hotels at least a few times to truly soak in the bustle of Las Vegas night life. For me, I prefer to stay adjacent to, but not within, The Strip. This way, I can have some comfort in a quieter setting and can call an uber at any moment to meet friends along The Strip. This was the reason I chose Nirvana Hotel. Situated right next to The Luxor and The Mandalay Bay, it is both affordable and close to the attractions I come to Vegas for. The exterior is a bit off-putting at first. You aren't greeted with the pristine fountained welcome that you expect from Vegas--the wonderful precession of marble floors, the lush green plants, the ornate chandeliers. The main check-in station is inside the souvenir shop which resembles that of a run down gas station. Service is quick and the check-in process is painless. Their doors all use numbers so you don't have to worry about misplacing your card. Just don't get so drunk you forget! The room itself is very humble: queen bed, LG tv, two night stands, a small fridge, and a walk-in shower. Clean, organized, and arranged professionally. I will definitely stay here again. Connie was at the reception and welcomed me warmly. Parking is free. That's right. FREE. For your entire duration of stay.
