I found this place in the small town of Rufus, OR because the menu looked great and wanted something local. We arrived and it looked pretty busy, which is a good sign. We walked in and I saw a SALAD BAR... now this sold me !!! Not only the menus items looked great, but they had specials as well. I chose the special - spareribs, baked potato and SALAD BAR. All was very good. This is definitely on of those old school, local dining joints with good food. Our waitress was attentive, but down to business.. no chit-chat. The Mr. and I both chose the Croissant Royale, S chose the avocado toast, and M had the Spiced Breakfast Burrito. The portions were generous and nicely plated. We all enjoyed our choices. Additionally, the Mr. and I ordered the strawberry shortcake to share. The base was a lemon scone, topped with fresh strawberries, and whipped cream. It was the best thing I ate in Oregon! Steve and I hit their refrigerated section and bought a fair amount of beer from local breweries in the area back home in four packs and six packs. I got a pretty cool hoodie while in the process after promptly going through the refrigerated beer selection. The beers we picked we really liked! As we were checking out we spotted on their tap list a beer from a local brewery we haven't tried before so we got a small pour of that and it was quite good. Nice selection all around for what's on tap and with what's in the refrigerated section to go!

The atmosphere was calm and refreshing, with beautiful surroundings that made it feel like a true getaway. The food at the restaurant was also very good and added to the experience. Overall, Cooper Spur provided exactly what we were hoping for: comfort, peace, and genuine hospitality. We're so glad we chose it for such a special occasion.
