The coaches make the kids work, but they don't mind because they are enjoying themselves. I have also noticed that the coaches also work their groups physical AND mental fortitude. They always start the season with a goal sheet so the kids could write down what they want to work for throughout the season. This is amazing! Prior to joining the team my daughters only dreamed of going to the junior Olympics. Now they both can qualify for the junior Olympics, and are starting to think about trying to get into Nationals. I also feel like the parents are extremely supportive, and try to help each other. I would recommend this swim team to anyone who wants their kids to get better at swimming in a caring and thoughtful way.

I was able to get a good workout in, and, honestly, working out in the same region that Arnold Schwarzenegger and movie stars reside in made me want to work out harder haha. I wish there were more stationary bikes, but that's a nitpick. The stretching area is also in the walkway area, so it was kind of awkward stretching as people walked by or waited for their exercise class. Lockers and bathrooms were clean.

The operating hours are already much more limited compared to other gyms, yet the membership fees are higher while much of the equipment is outdated, limited, or frequently out of order. Instead of prioritizing customers' convenience and keeping the facility accessible, members are expected to constantly adjust their schedules around these frequent closures. Overall, the management seems more focused on internal activities than providing a reliable experience for their clients.

They don't value customers time…read more Strike 1 - They scheduled my son for his 1st training session the same day we enrolled, they confirmed with the trainer and we were told to come back at 6pm. 10 minutes before his session the gym called telling me there was a glitch and the trainer already had another person so our session was cancelled. Strike 2 - I scheduled a session on the app , we show up and was told by the trainer himself he did not see our reservation and needed to re-schedule. He re-scheduled us through my app and confirmed the session on his end. My son had his 1st session. Strike 3 - Scheduled another session on the app, called the gym the day of the session to confirm, we show up, wait 15 minutes while our trainer is goofing off, I tell the front desk, our trainer comes to us and tell us he did not see our reservation and re-scheduled us again. Strike 4- We now have a 30 minute session scheduled but I added another 30 minutes on the app to equal a 1 hour session to just get it over with as I am now annoyed. My son and I show up, we wait 15-20 minutes for our trainer as he is with another person, he finally comes to greet us and I tell him I added the 30 minutes and he said he cannot due to having another person scheduled then he says he will make it work. He goes off with my son, after 25 minutes my son calls me saying the trainer had to re-schedule the other 30 minutes (i am mad now). We continue to work out for 20 minutes and as we are walking out I see the damn trainer is goofing off at the front desk !!!! No respect for our time. Thank goodness I found EOS gym near by.

For some reason I expected it to be super crowded and…read morecrammed, but it was actually the opposite, there was a good amount of people and it was a very large pool where you had enough space in the recreation area. The amount of lanes were you able to get your lane if you wanted to do laps. Had multiple lifeguards onduty on top of safety and the place was clean. I will say the bathrooms could've been better, but overall the rest is really good. They had pool toys for you to use and my son really loved the water basketball hoop. It was also pretty neat that you can bring your own food or order your food for delivery. Four dollars per person is a great price! They also have summer movie nights and Sunday evenings with the inflatable pool jumper which I thought was pretty cool. Definitely plan to come back .

Judo/gymnastics area is very well ventilated, the fans do make it difficult to hear but minor trade off. It's so well ventilated that kids don't get hot when they run. I also appreciate how special it is to have this Simi Valley Judo Club. It is one big class, so lots of opportunity for mixed age and mixed gender interactions. Often there are parent and kids enrolled at the same time. The cost is low, and duration is 1.5 hours twice weekly, so it doesn't hit the purse as hard if you need to miss a few lessons or join late. No makeups, which are time consuming for parents anyway. Newcomers can often progress quickly through the ranks due to the 3 hour per week duration (no belt testing and no additional fees). New ranks are awarded by Sensei based on observation of their behavior and their application of techniques at the daily randori. Randori is limited to the last 15 minutes of class, everyone sits and observes as 2 kids are called up to spar. So glad we returned.

I am moving my office to Westwood so it is no longer practical to come here in the mornings on my way to work as they do not open until 6am. If they opened at 5am I could stay but that extra hour just does not equate to a doable commute. I just updated my review to 4-stars as the Y has finally responded to some of our complaints. They have corrected the issues causing us grief and seem to have staff here now that are receptive to the members requests. This is a welcome change; so in response I have updated my rating. And thank you for finally removing the locks on the windows so 1) we can get out in an emergency; and 2) too bad we had to endure sweltering Summer with no ability to open them. Now that it is Winter, it's not much help, but nonetheless it is noticed that you all finally responded to the members request.
