    Last day of swimming!
    M R.

We love Eddie! Our son was 3.5 YO when he started with Eddie. We've had 2 different swimming coaches that we took before and it didn't click, and we were worried... Our son was really scared but day 3 he was already starting to swim and float. Eddie is very gentle, kind, but firm with children. He has so much patience. Our son is now 6.5 and we took Eddie again for 2 weeks, he's progressed so much. And because our son already knew the basics, Eddie catered to his skills and taught him techniques such as diving to get a jewel, breast stroke, freestyle. We will definitely keep coming back for refreshers and refinement. Swimming is a non-negotiable investment for anyone as it's a survival skill - and we're so thankful Eddie was able to help our son get through his fears of the water! Thanks Eddie and Jessica!!!

Based upon the Yelp reviews I signed my three year old grandson up for lessons. It's very important that all kids become pool safe, and Eddy is the man to see. He has the patience of a saint. He was successful in getting our grandson pool safe or close to it by the end of the first series of lessons. It's $500 for nine lessons. The lessons run for 1/2 hour on nine consecutive days. Eddy's program runs smoothly and efficiently. Highly recommend.

We now have a swimming 3 year old thanks to "Teacher Eddie" (what my son likes to call him)! I could not recommend Swim To Eddie more highly! Of course at first we had to deal with the pool scaries, (the screaming and the tears) but that part only lasted for the first 2 or 3 days, and the rest was smooth sailing. Eddie is super calm, very friendly, and EXTREMELY patient - I watched him deal with back to back children who were just so afraid (this experience can be really hard on the kids at first) - and he did it with such grace and ease, ultimately making them feel comfortable and excited to be there. My son has gained a new found confidence in the pool, thanks to Eddie! He truly had such a fun time learning to swim and still asks to go back. We are excited that we get to practice all summer long, and he remembers the tricks and fun tips he learned from Eddie. Do yourself a favor and sign your child up! You will not regret it! Thank you, Teacher Eddie! We will miss you and your beautiful pool!

Eddie is one of the best instructors I have ever met, and I have been in the fitness industry for over 7 years. His patience, persistence, and professionalism really shows when he works with his students. No matter what experience, age or limitation a student might have, he will find a way to teach them how to be safe in the water. In addition, no matter how difficult a student might be at the time, he never lost his cool, not once. Here's a little breakdown of our experience. Day 1 - crying and wanting to get out Day 2 - did not want to go back to swim lessons because she was scared. When we got there, more crying and wanting to go home Day 3 - WE HAVE A SWIMMER Day 4 - our daughter was excited to go to swim lessons Day 5 - after a long weekend our daughter was scared to go back, but once in the pool all that fear disappeared. Day 6-9 - she loved it and really got the hang of kicking and using her arms. She even jumped in and swam to the other side of the pool, multiple times. In the beginning it can be a very difficult experience as a parent, especially knowing how dangerous water can be. When you see your kid crying and wanting to stop our paternal instinct wants us to run over there and make them feel better. A couple pieces of advice if it is your first time bringing your child to swim lessons. 1. Trust the process. Eddie knows what he is doing and will make sure his students are safe. 2. Try not to be a helicopter parent. This is very difficult but very important. I can't say I didn't give a few pointers from the sideline, it's just a habit from teaching my kid other things. But it takes away from the child's learning experience and takes their attention away from Eddie. 3. Always cheer and encourage, even if they are crying. Overall this is one of the best investments I have made, especially for my child's safety. We will definitely be back for more lessons. Thanks Eddie

Eddie is a MAGICIAN!! I signed my son up for Swim to Eddie after having a terrible experience with my 3 year old at another swim school. Prior to the other lessons, my son loved the water but after 6 weeks of 2x per week lessons at the other swim school (that were super expensive) my son was completely traumatized and wouldn't go near a pool. Then I heard about Eddie from some friends so I signed him up. Literally on day 1 of class with Eddie, my son regained his LOVE of water and was already able to swim to Eddie. Within 3 days he was already at the point where he could life-save swim to the side of the pool and by the end of class he was swimming completely independently across our whole pool. I can't thank Eddie enough for giving my son back the gift of love for the water and giving me peace of mind that he is now much safer in and around a pool. THANK YOU EDDIE!

    Is it year round?

I wish! He finished a few weeks ago and I believe he runs a week long class over spring break and then starts up june or july.

After just FOUR lessons with Gale, she is able to independently swim, put her face in the water, blow bubbles, and is having an amazing time swimming. Honestly, I was already getting frustrated with Gale as she was very irritated and impatient with my 2 year old. He was anxious, and he's speech delayed so he has a hard time verbally communicating that. I tried getting him excited for swim lessons by talking about the cool pool toys she had, and it actually kind of worked. I told her before the lesson how he's so excited to play with the ducks. She said ducks are exciting! Then didn't bring the toys out that lesson of the 2 following it. She also multiple times complained about other customers to me. I find that pretty unprofessional. But I thought maybe I'm just being overly sensitive. She's from a different generation. They do things differently. It's just hard to hear your baby crying for you. I thought we just needed to push through. But while he's upset she just kept telling him NO STOP. You're not going to cry. You're FINE. With so much annoyance. Honestly it reminds me of the jaded nurses I work with in the hospital who have been doing it forever and get annoyed with patients for needing anything extra or for being any level of difficult. Just so unsympathetic. He's 2. He's scared. This is still new to him. But I pressed on despite thinking maybe this isn't a good match of personalities. But half way through our month of swim lessons my son caught hand foot and mouth disease and so did our entire house. It was awful. I informed Gale and after calling out x2 she said I've taken you off the daily schedule just let us know when you're better. To me this communicates you don't need to keep calling out. Now she's telling me we no showed 3 times. Called out 2 times. Implying we can only reschedule 2 lessons. I'm sorry that's crazy. These lessons are expensive $85 a lesson. What a waste of money, and yet I'm relieved to take my business elsewhere.

My wife reached out to them first and exchanged messages through email. Before we showed up, she had to use the app to sign the documents. After several months she can't do the back float for as long as they'd like in order to progress her to anything else, but the program is completely linear, so if your kid can't back float independently for a long time, then they won't teach them to do anything else. It is a busy, loud, revolving door of kids coming in and out, and they move right to the next kid when yours gets out of the water, so there's not really time to talk to the teacher about what they will try differently next time. Trying to call the office is no use unfortunately. I've never gotten through. I wouldn't recommend this program for kids who need a tailored approach or who are nervous in the water. Maybe if your kid is already a great swimmer.

Judo/gymnastics area is very well ventilated, the fans do make it difficult to hear but minor trade off. It's so well ventilated that kids don't get hot when they run. I also appreciate how special it is to have this Simi Valley Judo Club. It is one big class, so lots of opportunity for mixed age and mixed gender interactions. Often there are parent and kids enrolled at the same time. The cost is low, and duration is 1.5 hours twice weekly, so it doesn't hit the purse as hard if you need to miss a few lessons or join late. No makeups, which are time consuming for parents anyway. Newcomers can often progress quickly through the ranks due to the 3 hour per week duration (no belt testing and no additional fees). New ranks are awarded by Sensei based on observation of their behavior and their application of techniques at the daily randori. Randori is limited to the last 15 minutes of class, everyone sits and observes as 2 kids are called up to spar. So glad we returned.
