Always have two or three people bidding on the job at the same time. Having invited five professional plumbers to my house in order to do a take off and submit a proposal to me for the entire plumbing of my garage conversion. I tried to speak to someone and get them to sharped their numbers but the attitude was not acceptable for respectable businessmen. Not only was their communication poor, I found their price to be almost outrageous. You have competitive pricing and luckily we have received more complete bids with less than half the cost. I chose to go with a with licensed C-36 that's been in the business for 30+ years & 15 year guarantee. Word of the wise, invite several trades to your project at the same time. Get these guys to bid more competitively and hold them accountable for price gouging. I'm giving two stars only because I actually received a bid. Not complete or detailed mind you. I hope this review sheds some light on your decisions.

We needed someone good to get here quickly and find the source of the leak. We called JC Plumbing based on their great Yelp reviews - Julio called back immediately and said they could be out within the hour. They kept their promise: Julio & Cesar arrived on time and explained their method and cost. We agreed, they proceeded (removing some Sheetrock, filling the shower pan with water, watching for source) and they determined that the shower pan construction ("hot mop") had failed. Although JC doesn't reconstruct hot mop shower pans, they gave us exactly what we needed today: great service, quick response, methodical work and the definitive source of the problem. We now know what to do for our next step. By the way, another plumbing company that we contacted (before calling JC) said that their first move would be breaking up the concrete slab to discover the leak. Thank goodness we hesitated on that other company and called JC Plumbing - we saved ourselves a world of hurt!

They wanted 1/2 the day of the estimate, $850. The day of the repair, 2 techs were in and out in 45 mins. and no need to open wall. I paid the next 1/2 of $850. But I called Norm, the owner to advise him that $1,700 for a 45-min. job to replace a tub spout and waste & overflow was excessive and unethical! After many phone calls , Norm told me he would be refunding the second $850. However, it's been a week and I still haven't received the refund. Use caution if hiring Troutwine Plumbing. The job was done on May 28th. 2026 and on June 8, 2026, I finally received a partial refund . Issue resolved.

Well, they quoted me $250 to replace a filter in an under sink water filter system, said I needed a new pressure regulator for $940 (Scott McPherson checked it and said it was perfect), and over $400 for replacing a toilet flush mechanism. Scott replaced the under sink filter, the toilet mechanism plus installed a new toilet and bidet for $359. This is a family business, his wife, Erin, answers the phone...yes, a real live person, or calls you back right away and you're not left wondering what this plumbing adventure is going to lead to. Although the owner, Kyle Gress a nice and cooperative gentleman, eventually refunded $1,644 but only after our family lawyer (for advice on this matter only) got involved, what happened should never have occurred in the first place. In California, seniors 65+ have five days to cancel any contract, yet this company acted in a way that felt misleading, unfair, and predatory. Their tech, Mike, came out and repeatedly bragged about how "honest" the company was and the good work they do. Meanwhile, he quoted a shocking $3,627 to repair a simple PVC irrigation pipe that had popped at a glue joint. Something caused by normal wear, tear, or high water pressure. He then collected $1,814 50% deposit on the spot from the elderly confused homeowner who clearly did not understand what was happening and why it would cost that much. When we requested a refund so we could get other estimates, we were told it "couldn't be returned" because there was a "signed contract." To this day, we have never been given a copy of that supposed contract or even a copy of the estimate explaining the charges. Afterward, we had two reputable plumbing companies come out for second opinions: * Shellback Plumbing who quoted $832 with a new pressure regulator and $445 without the regulator, simply to re-glue the PVC line. * American Reliable Services. Quoted $1,100 also fully aligned with the real issue. Which I will attach the estimates to this post. Both verified the same simple problem and provided honest, reasonable pricing. The difference in cost and integrity was shocking. I'm sharing this to help protect other families. Do not be fooled by friendly conversation or reassurance. In our experience, this company took advantage of a vulnerable senior and withheld basic documentation while trying to charge thousands for a repair that should have cost a fraction of the price. Please take your business to honest, transparent, and reputable plumbers. This company was the exact opposite beware of them don't he deceived by their kindness.

Lack of Transparency - Would Not Recommend…read more I had a disappointing experience with T Top Plumbing and would not recommend them. An outside leak was investigated to determine whether it was the HOA's responsibility. The leak detection visit was arranged through the HOA, and I never consented to hiring T Top Plumbing for myself. Very little was done during the visit, yet I was later told I had to reimburse the company once the leak was deemed homeowner responsibility. I later learned the leak detection company used charges significantly less than what I was billed, with the difference attributed to a "dispatch" fee that was never disclosed or approved. The invoice itself states that I declined further locating and marking once responsibility was determined. If I declined continued service once responsibility was determined, it is unreasonable to bill me for services I neither requested nor authorized. Homeowners should be cautious and get everything in writing before allowing any involvement from this company.
