I had a great experience with this location. I needed a seated MRI as I can't lay down any longer for a regular MRI. Everyone from setting up the appt through email, to them getting my doctor's order and insurance approval within 24 hours for a brain scan, to the technician, were all professional, kind and understanding. My appt was actually set for 2 weeks out, but they had a cancellation, emailed me, and I was able to get in the following day after our initial emails. I've read some reviewers saying they've driven a long distance to get there to find out their appt was canceled. And that happened to the person in line before me. Make sure before you leave for your appt that your insurance has approved the procedure! And if it hasn't been yet, ask SimonMed to call them and get it pushed through as you have an appt! The person in front of me asked them to do that, it was straightened out, and they got the appt right after me. I was so happy to hear as I was willing to give them my appt time as I live close by and could have come back later. I've had to get MRI's for years, always laying flat, which I can not do any longer due to some other surgery. All I can say is this machine was not as loud, the head cage you must have for a head scan was really easy compared to the ones laying down, and the tech made me as comfortable as possible for an MRI. He made sure I had the balloon thing you press if you need him and he made some great jokes to help alleviate any lingering anxiety, and also checked in with me 2-3x during the scan to make sure I was ok. I was able to see them in the scan room, and I got to watch Forrest Gump the entire time the scan was on. I actually almost fell asleep but was told I can't because it's a brain scan! My husband's appointment today was 6pm. We arrrived 20mins early. The frontdesk inform us that they are 30mins late with the schedule so my husband will be called at around 6:30pm instead of 6pm. After waiting for so long a lady called him just to inform that they cannot do his procedure today because another patient is not willing to go and wants to finish her procedure all at the same time. I mean, hello?! You guys are the ones who are already behind the schedule of your patients, you had us wait for 30 more mins beyond the scheduled time only to tell us you will reschedule my husband in another location?! How unprofessional you guys are! Considering we are with our baby during the appointment waiting and wasting our time on this inconsiderate people. read more

I had an AMAZING EXPERIENCE at SimonMed Imaging. I booked an MRI at SimonMed because of being claustrophobic and not being able to do a normal MRI. The staff, especially Dinora and John, were so patient and easygoing and they made it possible to work through my issues. They didn't rush or get irritated and that put me at ease. I am 5'11 and 195 pounds and my shoulders basically pushed up against the sides so it took me a few minutes to calm myself down. The "cage" over my head was much less of an issue than I thought it was going to be. It's more like a football helmet and if you need to get out, you can do that quickly. Also, you get to watch a movie to take your mind off it. I highly recommend this place!!! read more

NO STARS. Don't go here even if they have availability right away (what happened to me). I was injured; awaiting for a preauthorization from my ins. carrier to pre-approve the imaging. Instead of calling my carrier one last time the morning I had the imaging done, I mistakenly relied on the individual behind the counter at this business, to tell me if the preauthorization had come in (it had NOT come in; the person at the counter told me several times that yes, it had come in.). I naively gave my Visa to pay the $150.00 co-pay, but couldn't get the receipt. After the imaging procedure, without a word from the same person who said Yes, the authorization had come in - was given a receipt for $500.00 because, as this person said: "this happens all the time. When you were having the imaging done, Blue Cross changed their mind." Sure, this was fraud; the person refused to admit saying this to me. It took me 6 months fixing this with my insurer while at the same time, holding off my Visa carrier. I told this individual to his face that day how disappointed i was with his actions. If you want to avoid any kind of nonsense headache while injured, go to a different business to tell you the truth, while not acting like they are gaming for your Visa. read more

The overall experience was great and I couldn't recommend this more to anyone who has issues with a traditional MRI machine. Unprofessional. They tell you to come 15 minutes before your appointment, but I had to wait 15 minutes for a parking space to appear in their small parking lot. Their office is surrounded by permit-only parking. Once inside, I had to wait 45 minutes to be seen. It has now been over two weeks, and still no results from the MRI. They never answer the phones themselves,\ but have an answering service located in Mexico with cheesy hold music from the 1970s. Ran a full 45 behind, the technician was fine -- though he left me in the MRI machine, after it completed scanning, for five minutes without communicating that he was checking the results which was alarming -- and the receptionist there was wildly unprofessional. I am excessively claustrophobic, so drove 2 hours specifically because I needed a stand-up MRI. I was so nervous and scared, but the staff members were patient and walked me through every step. Dinora, at the front desk was very nice and processed everything pretty quickly. Carlos, who conducted the MRI was also nice and professional -- he didn't get upset at the list of questions I was asking, or that I spent a few minutes freaking out. I came in at 5:30 a.m. and didn't have to wait at all, since I was the first patient. In and out in an hour. Also, you get to watch a movie while sitting in the machine, so that helps alleviate some of the anxiety. I'd definitely recommend this facility to anyone who is uncomfortable in the regular MRI machine. read more

Disorganized mess of a company...I am claustrophobic so booked an appt there. They made me wait an hour and a half, as if I wasnt nervous enough already. With one machine, you would think they would know how to schedule people by now. I had both neck and lumbar MRIs done, but somehow they only provided the Dr with the lumbar. Now I have to wait 6 weeks to see him again, and postpone my surgery! Called them from the Drs office but the mgr was too busy to talk to me, and never called me back. Extremely unprofessional and mismanaged. I was referred by my neurologist to have an MRI done of my head/brain area after suffering chronic migraines and vestibular issues for the past two months. I called on 7/22/22 to make an appointment with their clinic on San Vicente, I was told that I would need to make the appointment for at least 2 weeks out to wait for my insurance to approve it- okay we made it for 8/12/22 originally which would've been 3 weeks out. I gave my insurance info, ID #, claims info, everything to the lady setting up my appointment. During that time I called to request a sooner appointment, so it was moved up a couple days to 8/9/22, still more than 2 weeks out and more than enough time to verify my insurance. I just got a call today (8/8/22 THE DAY BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT) after 18 days that they will need to reschedule because there was an issue with my insurance ID member number. Seriously? They wait until the day before my appointment to check on this? In those two weeks at least they couldn't had reached out to me to verify my insurance info or make sure the ID number they took down was correct? It's heartbreaking to navigate the healthcare system when you're chronically ill, I'm still sick and waiting to see if there is anything wrong with me, waited 3 weeks, now ostensibly I will have to wait 2 more weeks and hope they do their job correctly and verify my insurance? Or do I wait until the day before my next appointment to see if everything is okay to proceed? No thank you, there are other MRI clinics out there I'd rather take my chances on. Don't let Simon Med waste anymore of your time like they wasted mine. Simon Med clearly did not care enough to make sure I made my appointment on time like we originally scheduled so I'm not taking a second chance on them. read more

I had to get two MRIs done (brain and cervical spine). I've never had this procedure before; the closest experience was a CT-scan on my shoulder once and while I didn't get swallowed into that thing like Jonah in the whale, I can't say it's on my list of most pleasant experiences. I could only imagine what an MRI would be like. King Tut probably felt less entombed. Alright, so, I have to humbly confess here that I am claustrophobic. There, I said it. I'm 6'2'' and robust; definitely not lanky. Confined spaces and I, we just don't get along (same with heights). So the traditional MRI machine where I get shoved in like raw meat into a sausage grinder just wasn't going to happen. So I got offered to do an open MRI. Tolerable. Bearable. But that flopped because I was unable to lay absolutely still with that bird cage strapped on my head for the imaging to be properly done. It wasn't because of nervousness, but because of a temporary physical condition I've been enduring. Physically, I just couldn't be still while supine, no matter how hard I tried. So, mission aborted. I discovered yet a third option which was to do an upright MRI. Seated, I could get this done, no big whoop. I scheduled on consecutive days and each session was easy peasy. Firstly, no waiting. They were punctual and ready. The machine itself was easy. You get positioned, seated, into this little recess. I have broad shoulders, so I was a bit wedged in there, but no biggie. The technician was highly professional, friendly and made the experience super easy and comfortable. Same with the one I saw on day two. Both had a compassionate demeanor and were patient. And there is a monitor with a movie playing to keep you occupied. Both MRI scans went swimmingly, even with that medieval contraption engulfed around my head. I wanted a copy and they prepared the CD of the images right then and there and then emailed me the report directly once it was ready upon my request. And the best part of this all was that both my MRIs showed everything normal. read more

OK - I searched high and low for what they really describe at an OPEN MRI ...and THE ONLY PLACE TO GO ...if you are LOL a baby like me and are claustrophobic....and do not want drugs for doing an MRI! I went to Simon Medical on Wilshire yesterday 4/10/19 ...and I WAS IMPRESSED AND HAPPY! First super clean and super stylish ....and not 10 zillion people all crammed into the waiting room! I was skeptical and nervous...but YAH it was perfect! The standing MRI has 3 positions...due to my shoulder and arm needing the xray ...sideways laying down was what needed to be done...AND GUESS WHAT....OPEN OPEN OPEN .........I was perfectly fine for 20 minutes I needed to be in this. AND all the noise when you are getting the MRI ....felt like I was in a video game...it was funny and fine ...and OPEN .....this will be where I go now ...and insurance covers ez breezy too....OK ....that is it.... read more

The worst experience I have ever had. Their staff is incompetent and unprofessional. From trying to schedule to them not understanding my imaging order or safety precautions for my insulin pump. I will never go to this location again. I've wasted over four hours trying to go to two appointments here. The second on they cancelled the morning of after this nightmare. Today, I had an MRI. It was a brain scan and I had to wear a helmet to hold my head still. I'd previously tried to do this in a partially open machine and I couldn't handle it. I called Ligia and she talked me through the procedure and booked an appointment. The closest date was April 28th, so I was surprised when I got a call yesterday and they offered me an open slot this morning, March 30th. I got there early and was greeted by Dinora. She helped me right away, got me parked properly and got me situated. Carlos the technician came out and took all the time I needed to explain everything without being overbearing. His sense of humor is the main reason I was able to get through this. Honestly, getting an MRI, no matter where, is going to be loud and uncomfortable. He got me through it and when I finished, I felt like I'd really accomplished something. I have to thank these terrific staff at SimonMed soooooooo much. THANK GOD for this machine. I am crazy claustrophobic, I recently went on that stupid Finding Nemo submarine ride at Disneyland and almost had a panic attack. A few years ago I had some neck problems and did an "open MRI" thinking it would better than the tube, and it was just as bad. The stand up MRI is great, you sit in a chair and watch the TV in front of you, there is nothing in your face to give you a sense of claustrophobia, the two large walls enclose you on both sides as it sinks you about four feet back. HOWEVER they put a Hannibal Lector type open plastic cage thing around my head, this made me feel a little uncomfortable but NOTHING as bad as an open or regular MRI. The only problem I had with this procedure is the seat dropped two inches after I sat down, so I had to extend my neck up into the Hannibal thing which ended up hurting my lower back. But besides that this is a great option for anyone with claustrophobia. Friendly staff, very nice technician and pleasant waiting room. read more

My father has dealt with various back pains over the years and has seen numerous doctors. He has done over a dozen MRIs without much discovery or relief. So when a friend of mine recommended Stand-Up MRI, I was interested. The majority of MRI centers have their patients lying down and this physical restriction doesn't allow the imaging to see the stress and pressure that occurs when a person is living their normal, upright, day-to-day life - nobody lives lying down!! All of the people (front desk staff, technicians, etc.) were all very friendly and the process was very smooth. I am an upstanding person, with great insurance, plenty of cash and a doctor's prescription for an mri. I dont know if they're just lazy or stupid, but I never got a call back either day. I was recently involved in an accident where I had horrible whiplash and I literally couldn't move my neck. I needed to get an x-ray asap and I wasn't able to get an appointment anywhere. I called Stand-Up MRI and they were able to see me immediately. They have a large parking garage located next to their office and as I walked in, I was taken right away to get my x-ray. The staff was very helpful and accommodating to my needs. My x-ray was reviewed by the radiologist and sent off to my doctor while I was still at the center. I have never in my life been in and out of a medical center as fast as I was at Stand-Up MRI. I would recommend to anyone and I will definitely be going back there again if I ever need an x-ray or MRI! read more

The scheduling an appointment was a nightmare. I am on the phone right now with a scheduler and I got lucky that he was a supervisor and he made the appointment for my mother. This happened after trying for 20 times for 2 days in a row talking to rude, unprofessional, untrained schedulers. My mother is a patient of Beverly Tower Wilshire Advanced Imaging Center for years. God Bless them for their professional service. This time my mother had to do MRI on an urgent situation. VERY UNFORTUENETLY Due to her health status she requested open MRI and we had to switch to SimonMed Imaging. I had to deal and call two days for near 20 times and each time I had to talk to rude, nasty, unprofessional, and really mean schedulers for this appointment. I simply asked two if they can speak off of the speaker, one wanted the number to Insurance otherwise he could not make the appointment and he hanged up on me. The rest hanged up for different reason such as: can you please speak louder or what is your name? I was trying to report them. I wish there was an option for NO STAR. I like the other ones highly suggest that you get your act together and schedule people appropriately. I told one of your schedulers that when people call you they are SICK and they are not FEELING their best, the physical illness affect mental health, please be respectful and do not be mean and they hanged up. I HOPE we never have to come back or deal with your nasty people. Event the person, Elsalvador, who claimed he is the supervisor and he was nice. When I scheduled my appointment, I thought I would be standing up; I have a bad lower back and I'm claustrophobic. Instead, the table was standing up but was reclined backwards during the procedure causing me much pain, but it was open. The other reason for the 2 stars is the images on the disc were totally useless and my doctor couldn't use it, although I had to pay my copay before the procedure, which I didn't know I would have to, and my insurance will have to pay their bill. You can't get thru to the office and the only way I was able to when I needed to pick up the disc, was one of the techs answered who didn't normally do so. Their offsite people who answer their phones are useless when you need get something from the office. Finally, I will give the staff in the office 5 stars because I became ill after the procedure and they were very helpful in getting me to where I could finally drive myself home. read more

I was a little scared to get this mammogram done, it was first time. I heard that the procedure is painful and very uncomfortable. But the mammography technologist made it so easy to me. I called 3 times to make an appointment and he kept on putting me oh hold and keep hanging up on me the same person answered and every time he had a different name BRUCE, ISSAC,ISAIAH the last call I made I asked to speak to the Manager he hanged up and did not answer my calls anymore. I spent 4 hours trying to track a person who over sees all the locations but no one knows that person and no one has a phone number to the main office also no one likes to give their name when you ask them Finally one person from Arizona was able to connect me to this location so I asked to talk to the manager she told me that she is gone and she will be back in an hour, I asked the managers name she told me her name is Vanessa Flores and she will call me back when she comes back and the man who was answering my calls his name is Eric well this happened over a week ago and the manager never called me back so they lost my business I had to do a neck and lower back MRI so I hope someone in the corporate office will see this and teach their employees to respond to people who they call and give names so we know he we are taking to also a number for people to call and talk to someone in times of need unless the corporate trained the to treat people this way. I wished i could give a -10 rating because one is way to much for you guys. read more

My back was in such bad shape that I had no other choice but to book a 6am slot for a standup mri. Woke up at 5:30am, tried to take a step and there was no way my back would endure walking. If anyone has had sciatic/back issues it almost like an old car, you have to let it warm up before you can forge ahead if at all. I called and explained my situation to the lady at reception, and she was kind enough to reschedule me for 4:45pm on Tuesday. I was very thankful because I would be able to rethink my approach on how to accomplish this task. I was sitting around when I received a call from Simon Med reception and she said that they had a cancellation for 1:45 today, and I said I would take it thank you. I asked what my co-pay would be and she had the answer right away, and I asked how much cash pay would be and she also had the answer for that. And to my surprise the cash pay was a no brainer for me. Wife drove me while I lay flat in the back seat, we get there at 1:45 and I stumbled in right to the front desk. I said I cannot stand, can I lie down here right away without hesitation she escorted me to the back and had me in the mri room. Went through the Mri in 20 minutes and all done!! My experience with the front desk and the tech who did the MRI was excellent!!! First time I came in they were running over 2 hours behind, I left and rescheduled. When I came back they had my scheduled for wrong day but said they could get me in next. I proceeded to wait for 1.5+ hours. The staff was very friendly but the whole process was BEYOND frustrating! read more
