XRays on a walk in basis only but many locations without X-ray techs. The queue does not indicate no techs available, rather come in 0 waiting. Arrived at the third location and told the wait would be 30 minutes. An hour later they brought me back and told me they are having issues with the machine so maybe I'll get my X-ray or maybe not. They'll let me know. What a joke and so disrespectful to the patient's time. I will not use SMI again. Wish I had looked at the reviews before I went with them this time around. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. Went in for an ultrasound and the woman at the front desk was on the phone chit chatting with a friend about her upcoming weekend plans. She stated I owed $86 . I notified her that 2 days before, I had a large procedure and they collected the remainder of my out of pocket. She interrupted me and stated that she still needed to collect the $86. I told her she cannot do that as I have met my out of pocket with the large payment from 2 days ago that is obviously pending since it was 2 days ago. She stated she didn't care and needed the payment and I don't understand how insurance works. Little does she know that I am a billing manager with several certificates in the field and know exactly how this works. She was rude and continued to speak louder and louder over me. I eventually just cancelled the ultrasound and left. This is the second time to this location and had the same woman check me in. She is rude and needs to be taught customer service. read more

I was very satisfied with my first experience at SimonMed at this location. Having an MRI was nerve racking enough not to mention I'am VERY Clostrophobic I was nervous and anxious my wait time was very brief Miss Amber called me back and I must say I have had many MRI's CT scans Pet Scans due to Cancer then a horrible Auto accident. I have never had such a great experience as I did today I was treated with respect with dignity by all staff. Thank you Amber and Jose for making me feel comfortable confident and well respected. Not impressed. My visit was the beginning of May 2020. Covid still at issue. I was told on the phone they were checking for sick patients before allowing in the building and no one but patients were allowed in. Despite signage outside, people were still bringing family (yes kids and others) with them into the facility. They were not requiring masks. Not a very clean environment. No one wiping the counter between patients. No one wiping down chairs, lockers anything! So disappointed. They were over-scheduling as there were more than 10 people in the waiting area. They did have most of the chairs removed for social distancing and lines on the floor. If I didn't need to use their wide bore machine for my MRI I would have left. I have recently moved from the East Valley to the West. I'm used to better maintained, nicer decor, cleaner facilities than this was. Simon Med facility near Chandler Regional Hospital on Dobson is so much nicer. The staff here today was somewhat polite. My X-ray tech wasn't wearing her mask properly. Down off her nose. The whole place just didn't feel clean. Looked a bit grubby and needed a fresh paint job. At least they had sanitizer throughout the patient areas. Unless I absolutely have to, I won't be back. Just walked in to the imaging lobby, only to see a receptionist with long dyed red hair walk to her seat with food in her mouth, hair disheveled asking if she could help the next person in line. Wth??? Incredibly unprofessional, especially being the first face you see for the company. I then walk to the records area and am met curtly, with a "we don't do more than 10 yrs." The guy who she seemed to be training under knew it was put in incorrectly and did nothing about it. Even after that he still let the intern continue on me. This was after over an hour of pain and nothing done to fix it. The guy looking over the intern eventually redid the IV. But even after that he still let the intern take over. I have had so many IV's done and this was by far the absolute WORST. read more

A longer wait at Estrella than some other SimonMeds. Girls behind the counter seemed to not be taking things seriously (ie: when someone had to drink fluids they couldn't remember when they last gave it and laughed about that). Waiting room is huge and every sound travels so everything the girls at counter say is heard by all, and all of my confidential info was heard by all. Nobody in waiting room talks unless whispering because of this. They came out looking for a patient that had already been sent back and seemed frustrated ... twice. Unorganized ? Because of their discussions I'm aware of a lady's full and last name and that she is having an ultrasound today. Seems they need more people working, more professionalism and more organization. Just had an MRI done at the location which was clean, orderly, and easily accessible with ample parking. Appointment time was somewhat easy to make. Staff was friendly and attentive. Issue created when appointment wait time exceeded 45 min. with 2 people in the waiting room which included me. No respect for patient time and if table turned likely cancellation on the part of the facility. Procedure itself went okay, it's an MRI, loud, confining, etc, however tech was efficient and communicative. Unfortunately overall experience typical of the healthcare field I've found in general, real shame in some regards and only satisfactory in most others. read more

I am writing this review with full hopes that SimonMed will take responsibility by improving their services in order for another person not to fall victim to their extremely unacceptable customer service. I have had two negative encounters with SimonMed now. I am blessed to be in a position where their lack of care does not jeopardize my immediate health, but there are others less fortunate. My first contact with SimonMed was for a MRI. Due to my work hours I could only schedule my appt through their online appt booking service. I followed all the required steps prompted by the website completing my request with a confirmed appointment date and time. Being the planner that I am, I set this appointment well in advance to accommodate my work schedule, distance and time sensitivity to my upcoming surgery. SimonMed waited to the day of my appt just three hours shy to call me to inform me that the MRI could not be done. Granted my appointment was made over a week ago from this call. They informed me that a MD is never in the office on Friday's and the MRI w/contrast should have never been scheduled for that day. "How was I even able to schedule my appt then if that was the case?" "Why was there an appt slot available for me to book?" They had the order from my provider they new exactly what I needed done well in advance. I agreed to reschedule due to the fact of needing this study done to proceed with my surgery date. The medical personnel rescheduled me for a weekend appointment over a 40 mins away just so I can get it done. Again, this second appointment was made a week from the actual visit. I arrived yesterday after driving over 45mins to be greeted by the front desk that they tried to call me yesterday but they couldn't because they didnt have my phone number in the system. (I later confirmed with another SimonMed facility once I'm in the system my demographics is in their database) They where able to call me two weeks ago but couldn't call me yesterday?? She proceed to tell me that the study wasn't "authorize" per my insurance and I would have to pay out of pocket $300 if I wish to proceed forward. Why wasnt I made aware of this in advance? Why didnt they inform me of this with my initial visit. Being put in this very uncomfortable hardship for the second time was very upsetting. I was put in a position take a financial hit and get it done because I need the study or walk out and possibly reschedule my surgery prolonging my treatment. I left the office crying because I could not pay that amount at that time. I know SimonMed is capable of providing better service more accurate work, if they chose to do so. I have done everything on my part providing the original script, uploading my insurance information, making personal arrangements to assure keeping my surgery date with that being said SimonMed has dropped the ball two out of two times I have attempted to use their service. All of this could have been avoid with providing better work ethics, time management, and not passing the buck. PEOPLE'S HEALTH'S ARE IN YOUR HANDS AND SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY. Wait time is ridiculous for walk ins you know thinking it would be quick and easy nope 1hr 30min wait. Make an appointment they tell you to get there 15min prior done I got there 20 min prior cause of the lines. I'm 10 min past my appointment time waiting on you guys now. As soon as I walked in felt a bad energy, I wasn't greeted upon walking in or told I would be helped soon. I just stood there for about 5 min before someone even spoke to me. I was a walk-in and seen the same treatment towards other who would walk into the building. The girls at the front don't talk to you. Working in a clinic environment I know the way to talk to patients or treat them, even if you're busy it would still be nice to let patients know you will be right with them be ignoring them. Received 15 texts within 24 hrs to remind me of appointment, annoying but no big deal. They called and let me know everything is set and bring copay at visit. Show up, takes 20 minutes to get to check in counter, they changed the time of my appointment by text twice while in line at the place, told I owe $175, then she updates insurance and it's $200, then when she takes my credit card the amount changes to $226....I don't mind paying my bills but I'm not treating the office to lunch here. Asked if I can get an itemized, post insurance bill to make sure they are not collecting wrong amounts and was told they do not send bills out, they have to collect money that day. Too shady to even stay and get the CT scan. Rather go somewhere that is upfront, honest and not massively overbooked. read more

Awful experience with the medical staff. I had a MRI with/without contrast. They tried to put the IV in after the first run ( for the contrast meds) while my head was still in the machine and I had to strain to hear them. The doctor was surprised that I didn't have one already set up ", bc Its supposed to be done before we start anything and asked the tech, who from what I could hear said she didn't know how to. So the doc tries to get an IV set up, poked me in the middle of my forearm, not the the crook where I've had all my IV before. Worst pain of my life, my arm was burning. I was crying asking them to stop and they finally let me out of the machine. My arm was so swollen and bruised (stayed that way for like 2 weeks) and I was holding back from sobbing. They did not seem concerned at all and basically acted like I was overreacting but they MESSED up. I've had blood transfusions, IVs for days at a hospital and a tattoo on my ribs. I would rather do all that again than get an IV administered by my providers that day. I called several times and left all my info, no one got back to me, not even the site manager. I wouldn't go here ever!! If the doctor is too Incompetent to put in an IV, the standard for the rest of the providers must not be that high. Btw, it's been maybe 2 months and I can still feel where I was poked and I'm now scared of needles. read more

Wow! Came in last Friday and was told they were too busy. Arrivedd this morning to be told thay their x ray machine is down. Told I will be having my image done by CT. Was told it would be 20 minutes. I have now been in the waiting room for over an hour and a half! Was told my bill would be $248. When I asked why I was told Oh wait it's only $35. Not impressed! My daughter needed some very specific medical imaging done. Since it was not an every day request, things became quite confused and we waited about two hours in order to get enough clarification with the doctor to proceed. Throughout the frustrating process the people here were so good to us. They were patient and kind and worked extremely hard to fix the issue so that we could get what we needed to continue our medical care. The situation was not ideal but it could not have been handled better and I am so appreciative. read more

Terrible. Poor service, long wait.... over an hour then they did not honor recommendation. I was sent out on behalf of another clinic, was told there would be no fees only needed proof of insurance and valid identification. So after the long wait lady at front check in tells me there will be a fee after all that the clinic that sent me to them is not valid. Yet I had proof showing clinic and them are collaborating, I showed her the card specifically saying free consultation and X-rays! All she said sorry it's not valid. Really??!! So when I called the day before it was valid but now it's not. I highly recommend not going here, non friendly poor service. read more
