This is going to be long…read more... I'm not quite sure what brought me to Sunshine Corners. I would almost call it serendipity, but I was certainly searching for something, I just didn't know exactly what. I had a day off and had spent the earlier part of it wandering, looking for any remaining independent produce stands, butcher shops, or just something that felt like it would nourish and heal me because I had been feeling....well? physically, emotionally, existentially, and psychologically, like absolute crap. Historically I've spent years independently studying nutrition and biochemistry, herbalism and traditional medicine, but over the years I'd strayed from those things and lost my way. All this to say I may have forgotten some things but I recognize when someone else knows their stuff. I wandered into Sunshine Corners, originally for a good sandwich and maybe some produce. What immediately struck me was how comforting this place was, and how much it felt like the old school apothecaries or coop's before they became adulterated by mainstream capitalist influences. Stay with me here. I overheard Tony talking to one of the people at the front desk and immediately realized "ok, that guy knows his stuff". Meekly, when he had a moment, I walked over to him and basically, in a sort of desperate manner, laid out my litany of aches and pains and mysterious ailments, expecting an abrupt hand waving answer. That is not what I got. Tony spent what might have been somewhere between 45 minutes and an hour with me, patiently asking me questions and pulling out reference literature. He recognized things in me that no one else had been able to see, and pointed me in a direction that has allowed me to focus on actually getting better rather than just collapsing in frustration. Tony, if you're reading this, the time you spent helping me meant so much to me. Your years of wisdom made a huge impact, but more importantly, your humanity.

I would love to give it 5 stars and expected to feel a 5 star visit. I have been told over an over by friends to talk to Tony, and so, this time, I did. I had needs, based on a protocol that I researched, and Tony offered alternatives, claiming them to be superior. When I pushed back sticking to items I was more sure about, he seemed put-off, stand-offish. The store was super busy, people asked him for advice, he handed them bottles, they paid and left. It was a little weird. I didn't mind at all that he went off to help others, but he avoided contact with me from there out. As I was leaving after spending nearly $200 cash, I shouted, "Thanks Tony," and his "bye" was somewhat of a good-riddance. a couple days later; the one alternative that I took his advice on, I reacted horribly to. When I called the store to find out if he had a specific brand I wanted, he shiftily attempted to sell the same one I reacted to already, so I explained that I bought that one on his suggestion and reacted horribly. He was quite aloof, saying [the brand I wanted was] "not right, now" [in stock]. It's not that I won't shop there anymore, but I don't feel welcome, and will consider other options moreso now, but for sure will not be engaging with Tony when I do. I go out of my support local businesses that don't have political pull. Don't get me wrong... I witnessed that Tony is super kind to those that take his advice. His customers are his fans. I just feel shafted. Maybe he can recommend a cream for that ;)

She put a smile on my face while grocery shopping before a holiday. The checkout lines are never long and I really like that we don't have to waste our time with a self checkout. This place really is a secret gem.

A small organic produce area is offered at good prices. Just be sure to check freshness before throwing them in your cart. There are more produce offerings in the traditional variety. A very small meat cooler has chicken, ground turkey, ground beef and a couple other choices. Lots of frozen foods in all categories including organic. They so offer seasonal items - on this trip things for the garden. The prices here are much better than the other nearby grocery. Plenty of parking. Wide aisles and clean. Check it out.

Parking is at the 'new gnome trail head' so it's a dirt lot and when we arrived we did have to drive a bit to find a spot. The early bird gets the spot, but with traffic in and out, you can find one if you are patient just a little. Vendors are under their own individual awnings. Some have two spots, some one. There were also a couple of tents for kids like face painting and a community tent with some coloring items for them. The farmers had a variety of items. Lots of cherries this time of year. Some 'regular' (why is 'pesticides used' regular?) and some organic. We grabbed some Rainier cherries. If you haven't tried them - get on it. Lettuces, kohlrabi, eggs, apples, all the in-season items. There were yarn crafters, hand made wood items like cutting boards, and other kitchen items as well as home decor. We picked up some cheese from the Cheeselady and it is delicious. We picked up local honey from one of two (three?) local honey vendors. So many beautiful fresh and dried flower bouquets! How can you not get one of these beauties? The youth orchestra was under the pavilion playing during our visit. There are several food trucks and vendors selling foods to eat on site with table under the pavilion for dining. It's a lot of walking and a lot to see. Definitely recommend you visit this farmers market often. It's quite well organized and represented by local vendors.

Made it a Saturday event the past 2 weekends in a row to go to this Farmer's Market. Got an Iced Caramel Macchiato from Chayen Coffee and tried out a new Chicken Plate from the Zaytoona Mediterranean Food Truck. The drink was very tasty and refreshing on a sizzling hot day today (8/03/24). Browsed around the different vendors who were present, but didn't really buy anything else. The big donut vendor ran out of giant donuts and carrot cakes, so was a little disappointed by that since we were in the mood for some... Parking was a hassle, as always at this location since people do not know how to get around the bloody parking lot. Anyway, after getting home, tasted the Mediterranean food and was sorely dissatisfied! Chicken was salty, hummus was totally bland, fries were soggy since they had put the chicken on top for some odd reason and the tzatziki wasn't that flavorful at all. I would give a 2 out of 5 for the food business since it cost $18.00 and couldn't finish it due to the saltiness of the chicken! Tried something new and felt pretty disappointed by it, as the food quality didn't meet my expectations. Have had much better Mediterranean food elsewhere... This is a decent Farmer's Market, so I would recommend others to visit. Has a wide variety of food vendors, small businesses and choices for your liking.
