The men who arrived to do my move were very polite and did an outstanding job. They were very careful with everything. The only issue I had was with the billing. I had purchased a piece of furniture from a woman living 5 miles from my house. I met them at the sellers house and asked the movers to follow me as I wanted to go the most direct way with the least amount of stop lights. They did not and also stopped at a gas station along the way so one could use the restroom. We also sat through two additional stop lights. This caused a 4 minute overage so I had to pay an additional 1/4 hour (at $145/hour) which is not right but nothing was scratched and the gentlemen worked so hard to make sure nothing was damaged so I didn't argue about it. Still, the clock should stop for bathroom breaks and consideration should be given when the travel route is deviated from. I would still hire them again as they did a great job with the move and not having anything damaged was way more important than $36 to me. read more

I used them to only move appliances and heavy furniture. This was the worst company I could have chosen. Highlights: - damaged everything they moved. Some things a lot and some things minor but still damaged. This includes furniture and appliances - damaged wood floors at both houses by dragging things rather than lifting. Wood floor at top of steps have 11 gouges. - scratched both front doors and gouged numerous walls, wood work, stairwell handrail - they came with one pocket screwdriver and no plastic to wrap dressers - a neighbor later told me one was smoking a crack pipe in my driveway. Same one was arrested that evening for selling drugs and multiple warrants. His mug shot has work shirt on - I called company before all was brought into new house. Basically blown off by office mgr - the next day their inspector came and took pics. Following day went to first house and took more pics. Told me I would prob have to sue as owner doesn't like to put out money - was told that when the movers have damage, their punishment is to work with a guy who always damages things. Said they get most of their money on tips and if they have a bad move, they won't get tipped. - company owner is not accepting responsibility. Wants me to pay the bill before we can "negotiate ". Has no moral code or ethics - you may luck out- but don't count on it!!! Don't take the chance. read more

This was the second time we used Simple Moves. The first was to move several heavy items in our house from one floor to another several years ago. This second move was to move items from our house into our daughter's new apartment. Her new apartment is up on a hill and has many steps. Several items are very heavy, including a large marble table top. The guys moved quickly without pause, and the cost was less than the estimate. They were courteous, helpful, and efficient, as were the guys who did the first move. We would use them again without hesitation. read more

I booked these movers to unload my truck. I was given a window for their arrival from 1-5pm. I was told they would call me 15-30 minutes prior to arrival and I would need to be there to meet them otherwise I would be charged $50 for cancellation. Around 1pm I decided to unload the loose items to help speed up the process while waiting for the movers to arrive. The clock turned 5pm and I still did not get a phone call, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe they were finishing up a different job. 5:30, 6:00, 6:30pm rolled around and still nothing. By this time I had unloaded most of my 16ft truck and only had the heavy items left. I was saved by my new neighbors that offered to help me finish the unload. Still no call from Simple Moves. I would not recommend using these movers. read more

I don't like leaving poor reviews, but this was a pretty poor moving experience. My movers gave me a window of 2-5 PM, and they showed up at 6 PM. The 2 movers were decently friendly, but they worked very slowly, which just makes the bill more expensive. One of them spent a decent amount of time on the phone, which made him to move even slower. Additionally, they also moved 2 things that were supposed to stay in the house, and were told they were supposed to stay. Would not use again, and wouldn't recommend. read more

Our water pipes burst during the freeze and now it's time for repairs. I called Simple Moves and requested two men to help me move out all the furniture so we can pull up the carpeting. This was not a good experience. One mover was sick. They put a hole in my wall in the apartment where moving from and did not fix. I had to pay for. Put a whole in the wall at new house and as of today not finished painting and was told don't know when they can finish. The move was 01/22/20. Very upset now. I used simple movers about a year ago. I know I am late in writing this. I wanted to be sure that the item I will talk about did not turn up. First I will will start with the fact that I have them an extensive list of what I needed move. We were in the house we were moving from for over 20 years. They showed up with a truck that I new was to small. While load loaded boxes and furniture carefully the got to the living room and stated they were out of room. I explained that we needed the living room furniture. They throw it in the truck by left many things including my outdoor furniture and 95% of my boxes. They delivered and unpacked the truck. They would not do a second trip. Now getting to the fact the there were several things that turned up missing. The first being a digital camera with multiple lenses and also a Makita saw and drill combo and a hedge trimmer. I contacted the company and was told that I needed pictures of us with camera and other things and receipts. I got no resolution on these missing items. They did get back to me and stated their guy did not take anything. Several things were not put together and the couch was broken. I had to have an appliance company come out and fix the refrigerator door which came off in my hand. I also had to hire a second company to finish my move. read more

Absolutely worst moving experience I've ever had. As a frequent mover, I've had quite a bit of experience with movers and this was the absolutely worst. The estimate given was way off and the crew did not fit all of our stuff in the truck, but left all of our items lying in the hallway of our apartment. The crew was very unproductive and we observed them standing around talking more often than not and they also did not know how to take apart our bed frame or put it back together. The crew also had inappropriate behavior and blared loud music outside of our house for the last 30 minutes of the job, while one of the others was finishing up the actual work. I will never even consider using Simple Moves. I scheduled a move between 1 and 3 PM. I only had a few pieces of big furniture and was told it would take roughly an hour, and I would receive a call 45 minutes to an hour before they arrived to let me know they were on their way. at 2:30 I received a call saying their first job was taking longer than they expected but they hadn't forgotten about me. At 4:30 I still hadn't heard anything and called them to see about an ETA. at 4:45 the crew called me to tell me they had just gotten to the drop off site, it would take them about 40 minutes, AND they were out in Lake St. Louis...and I live in St. Louis city by Tower Grove park. By 6PM I still had not received their 45-1/hr warning call so I called to cancel. Such an absolute waste of time. This company needs to seriously reevaluate how they do scheduling, their serious lack of communication, and their poor customer service. I took the day off work so I could get everything moved and ended up spending two nights on an air mattress because of the INCOMPETENCE of Simple Moves to provide the services they charge $100 an hour for. I will never consider using them in the future and I will never recommend them. It would be worth it to me to spend a little more money on Two Men or some other moving company to avoid these kinds of issues. read more

Very reasonable prices. The two men that moved my furniture (Driver - Armon, Helper - Carlos) were fantastic! They did a great job of moving all of my furniture, were very friendly, and it was obvious they were very knowledgeable about the best way to pack everything. I should have taken it has a sign when I called to reschedule my move and when I left a message with the answering service no one called me back. I called again to reschedule and they charged me $50. Okay I get it they told me when i schedule it there would be a charge if it was under two days. My movers arrive on time and loaded most of the items up. My sofa however was a different story. They couldn't get it out of my apartment. It was tough to get it but if it can get in, it can get out. And Simple Moves was the company who moved it in. After deciding they couldn't get the sofa out they left it. I called the office and spoke to Colleen she was going to have a supervisor talk to the crew and call me back. That was the first call unreturned. After that my boyfriend and I called 4 more times, by the last time the answering service said they would page a supervisor to call me - never received a phone call. In fact 2 days later I'm still waiting. The move ended up being 4 hours when it didn't need to be longer than 2. The 10% discount from YP.com wasn't on my bill even though John who set up my move said it would be noted. And after the movers left I find that my bed wasn't put back together. I guess they couldn't figure it out after they took it apart and left that too! I called another moving company the next day for the sofa, they got it out in 10 minutes. I wish I would have read the reviews before I used Simple Moves, the remarks from the owner on poor reviews is completely unprofessional. Never again. read more

We moved our office about one mile this past week. I called a few weeks prior to set up the appointment and chose Simple Moves based on the Yelp reviews. We originally set up the move for 5/31. I explained what furniture and stuff would needed to be moved and was given a window of time and confirmation #. A few days later I called back to change the date and the woman I spoke with said she was new and she'd have someone call me. No one called me back that day, so I called the next day and spoke with a man. I changed the move to 5/30 and was given a new confirmation # and a different time (8-9am arrival). On 5/30 at 10am I called Simple Moves to find out why no one had shown up or called. The man who answered said they had us down for the following day at 11am. I explained that we had changed the date and were given a new time a new confirmation # but he could not find the change in his system. They were unable to have anyone out that day and said they would send movers the following morning. The next morning the 2 movers arrived on time. About 2 hours into the move one guy told us that we had only scheduled 2.5 hours and they wouldn't be able to move all of our things. We told him that we had informed them of what furniture would need to be moved and we were given an estimate based on 4 hours. They managed to move most of the stuff but ended up being late to their next job. When they were finished moving they couldn't get ahold of anyone in their office to find out the total amount they needed to charge us. They had to call someone higher up out of state to get an answer. They gave us a 10% discount for not showing up the day we had scheduled, which I really don't think was too generous considering they have a 10% off ad on their website. The movers showed us a metal file cabinet that had been dinged, but after they left we noticed a few pieces of wood furniture (2 nice file cabinets and a bookshelf) that had been scratched and dinged pretty significantly, too. read more

Well, where to begin. The biggest issue we had was that their lead team member stole my wedding ring from my jewelry box. Thankfully, it has been recovered and he has been arrested and confessed. They bent up my patio door screen moving my refrigerator out. When we arrived at my new house, I specifically asked them to wrap the door frames and protect everything because my painter had just finished touching up everything. They completely ignored that request and proceeded to tear up 3 door frames and took a chunk out of one of the doors. My headboard was scratched up all across the front while they tried to get it into my bedroom. I had to tell them how to maneuver it into the room, but by the time I saw what they were doing, the damage was done. In my entry hall, where there was plenty of space, they punched the corner of something into the drywall. Needless to say, I have to bring my painter back out and buy a new screen because our previous condo was already sold. They did credit me back for the cost of the screen and other repairs, but were not willing to do anything else to compensate me for sending a thief into my home. When you hire a company to come in and move your belongings you should not have to worry about what they might take. I would not recommend them to anyone and will never use them again. I thought my wedding ring was gone forever. I'm so happy that it was recovered and the thief was caught. BEWARE!! read more

I have had some seriously heinous moving experiences in my life. I have had them show up late, show up early, break my stuff...one time they let my television roll down a hill and into the street....I hate moving and I have little to no trust for most people in the industry. After my aunt died, we needed to pack up her apartment and get everything out. Now, this was a woman with A LOT of stuff, and a lot of it was very nice and valuable. Understanding the trepidation most have when they hire movers, my family went forward carefully and decided to hire these guys. I cannot sing their praises enough. The move was a little difficult, we had to have the stuff split into two groups and delivered to two different houses, and there was a lot of fragile and very old furniture that needed some extra love and care. They managed to do all of this and do it with a smile. They showed up on time, got everything out quickly, nothing was damaged, and they even got everything to the right delivery location, down to every last box. The price was not ridiculous and right on par with every other quote, and the experience was a dream compared to most of what I had been through with movers in the past. If you need to move stuff and you are worried about the quality of care, I highly suggest hiring these guys. They only do in town moves, but for the lack of pain and hassle of cramming it all into a Uhaul yourself, it was well worth the price. And who isn't on the lookout for great movers...they are just not that easy to come by these days. read more

I hired this company to move me about 20 miles from an apartment to a house. I only hired them to move my heavy stuff (furniture, appliances, etc.). They showed up on time and were able to move everything fairly quickly. Upon arrival to the house, they were considerate of the carpet inside and went out of their way to not track anything in (it was pouring down rain to make matters worse). The cost in the end was exactly what was quoted and none of our stuff was damaged in any way. Saved me a ton of headache and hassle. Worth every penny. read more

Hiring a moving company is a crapshoot. I've moved 7 times over the past 15 years and my experience with this company was disappointing. Here are the highlights: --Office was non-responsive when I touched base to inform them of apartment building elevator availability. --Was given a window of arrival between 12-3pm; they arrived after 3pm. --Work order stated moving from apartment to two story home; movers complained when I informed them of move to two story home. --Movers broke leg to entertainment center, tried to blame previous movers without merit. --Two bedroom apartment furniture and boxes was estimated to take 4 hours total. It took 4 hours to load up truck.There were 3 men and the move including transport and unload took 6.5 hours, finishing after 10pm. --My family spent $3000 hiring a painter to paint our home. Movers scratched stair case, walls and stair case walls. --Movers didn't use padding, scratched up leather couches, armoires, dresser and children's furniture. --Movers lost screws to furniture, said manager would call on Monday to square away. No word from manager. This move was overtime, over budget and generally disappointing in the context of other movers I've hired over the years. The plus is that they didn't drive off with a truck full of my belongings. Buyers beware. read more

I'd probably give Simple Moves a 3.5 star rating. Everyone was very nice, and I felt the price was fair. I was only moving a few pieces of large furniture to my new house. I asked for an online estimate, and Myesha was very quick to call me back. They were able to fit me in on just a week and a half notice, which I appreciated. On the day of the move, they called me and let me know they were running ahead of schedule. If it worked for me, they could come early. Luckily it did. My movers were Stanley, Aaron and Terrence. They were fast, efficient, and friendly. The only thing I didn't like is that one of them used my bathroom without asking first and left their trash on my counter. I didn't feel that was very professional. However, they got my furniture from one place to the next without any issues, which is what I hired them to do. read more

Affordable moving company that charges for the first hour, then by 15 minute increments. This is was perfect because my move took exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes! They moved my furniture quickly and unfortunately had to do it in the rain. My only complaint is that they scratched up my bedroom dresser a bit and did not tighten the mirror back onto it. The 3 guys arrived and each of them introduced themselves. They were very friendly and got right to work. They worked very well together getting everything loaded and unloaded with no issues. The cost was lower then other quotes I had gotten. Very courteous but lots of damage to the furniture...... Two years ago we moved to the area from out of state. At that time we packed and moved all of our furniture and boxes on our own with absolutely no damage. Last week we moved from the upper floor apartment to a house. My husband and I didn't want to schlep all of the furniture down the steps so we decided to hire a moving company to move only the furniture. Sadly, there was so much damage to our office furniture.....and it's not the cheap put together kind.....that it will not be making the next move with us upon retirement. Additionally there was damage to the dining room table and chairs which was noticed at the time of unloading. That was processed through a damage claim in a very professional manner. The rest of the furniture (office) was not inspected until days later at which time it was too late to file an additional claim. So if a lesson can be learned, make sure that every piece of furniture is thoroughly checked as it is being unloaded. read more
