Really liked working with Bonnie. Her artistry in decorating cakes is top of the line... Each cake unique. All in attendance kept asking where I got those cakes, as they werent only pretty, but tasted good! Really happy my friend and my son recommended her.. Tried Safeway first, but they no longer bake their own cakes. They get them in frozen and then just do the frosting.... No wonder they seemed kind of dry lately.

Vonnie made our wedding cake and it was so delicious. We don't normally go for strawberry flavored cakes but it was hands down the best cake I've ever tasted. She did a beautiful job incorporating our wedding flowers as well. It was so pretty!

Vonnie is amazing!! My cake baker backed out 1 week before our wedding due to an unexpected illness. Needless to say I was extremely frazzled. We made a few calls and Vonnie checked her calendar and confirmed she was available. She fit us in for a tasting a couple of days later and we couldn't have been happier with the flavors of all of her cakes and cupcakes. She provided me with the exact same cake as our original baker, as well as cupcakes and cookies that we didn't have in our original plan. We are not only so grateful that Vonnie was able to help us last minute, but so grateful that her work and flavors were so amazing. She is wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for not only a wedding cake, but any baking needs!

The cake from our order. The cupcakes were gone before I could get a picture!

My experience with this shop and owner is very positive. She was polite and very knowledgeable. She helped us figure out what we needed for our two year olds birthday. She was even able to double our cupcakes when we had quite a few more guests than originally thought. Communication was simple when needed. The picture for our theme was BEAUTIFULLY recreated on the cake and cupcakes. Many adults said how delicious the dessert was. (some diets were broken that day) All of the children were very happy, it was plain to see they loved them as well. I highly recommend Simply Delish!!

Stopped at this cute bakery in Sonora hoping they'd have some cupcakes. We were in luck! My bf picked out 4 - salted caramel mini cheesecake, caramel apple pie, orange creamsicle, and red velvet. Loved the selection of flavors, cute shop, good customer service. The actual cupcakes were disappointing for me though my bf liked them. The icing has a soapy taste as another review mentioned and the cupcakes themselves were dry/crumbly instead of moist like I would have expected a high end cupcake to be.

I just wanted to thank Yvonne for the awesome job she did on our wedding cake and cupcakes this past weekend! It turned out perfect and delicious!! You simply are the best!!

It was 3pm on a lonely Monday afternoon. A lone, brave husband ventures out into the wild, in search of a birthday cake for his wife. But not just any birthday cake.... A gluten-free birthday cake. As goes without saying, my fellow men, failure is not an option. Mission critical. Time is of the essence. The cold embrace of the living room couch surely awaited me, should I fail. Like Frodo Baggins of the Shire, I embarked on my quest without knowing if I should ever return. A life-saving Google search put me in contact with Simply Delish. I called, and by the Gods, they had Gluten free Cake, available on a variety of flavors and colors. The woman whom I spoke with was very friendly and accommodating. I quickly made my decision- an 8 inch Birthday cake, in the Colors of our own House, with a chocolate raspberry filling. Then, by the old Gods and the New, I remembered my Mother in law and Niece are allergic to raspberries! Seven hells! I called without haste, and avoided a most unwelcome disaster. I switched to a chocolate cake with vanilla bean custard filling. I prayed to the Gods to help this cake not only be pleasing to the eye, and to the tongue, but to the very soul. The next day I picked up the cake and I was amazed to see that the cake was stunningly beautiful. I mounted my horse and made the journey back home, cake in tow under my cloak. Yes the cake was as beautiful, but all the seven kingdoms knew that most Gluten free pastries are about as tasty as fresh horse droppings. My Grandmother in law asked me if I had fetched a cake for the days festivities. Her face scoured and she gave me a look as if she were telling me to fall on my own sword after I told her it was Gluten free. Surely, in that moment, I felt our couches hot sweaty hands tighten its grip around my throat and pull me ever closer to its unforgiving bosom. I laughed it off, and told her- Sweet, sweet Grandmother in law....fear not. For Sir Omie of Cedar Ridge has the situation under his control. But beneath my strong reserve, little did she know, I had already shat in my pantaloons from the sheer fright of serving my wife a cake unworthy of the Gods. The time to cut the cake had arrived. I brandished my cold steel, and submitted my blade to my wife, surrendering my fate along with it. As she cut into the cake I imagined her pushing the blade into my very heart with the same look of joy. The cake opened, and I could see the rich dark layers, in stark contrast to the shining white vanilla bean custard filling, bright as the morning sun shining down onto a fresh spring meadow. The children were the first poor souls to taste the cake. They were pleased, but honestly, what child is not happy with any cake pushed in front of their face? The wife was next. She tasted the cake, and a look of pure satisfaction came over her, and I knew my life was spared, and my head would remain on my shoulders....until the same time next year. And what of my Grandmother in law, you may be asking? She enjoyed it as well, and her look of approval, and her second helping of cake, cemented my position as Lord of our House for a little while longer. I too must say, that the cake was soooooo good. Well done, Simply Delish. Well done.

There was only one other person in there when we arrived, but by the time we left it was packed! Counter staff was super friendly and I love that you can see the hard work that's happening in the back of the house. It's such a cozy vibe. They post their daily menu to Instagram so I already had a list of what I wanted, but it all looked SO GOOD so we left with much more than originally planned. Bagels: the BEST and I mean BEST sourdough bagels that I've ever had. When others make them a lot of times they turn out too dense, but these were perfectly puffed on the outside, a little tangy, and chewy when you rip into the bite. YUM! Today they had cheddar, plain, and everything. Classic Sourdough: perfectly cooked, perfectly chewy. I've had the cheddar-jalapeño before and it had a great flavor but that loaf was a little too chewy for me. The classic hits just right. They also have flavors like apple cinnamon, garlic, and gouda rosemary... just to name a few. AND they have some gluten-free if that's what you're into or need. It's coming fresh out of the oven regularly. Cookies: don't sleep on the sourdough cookies! They're perfectly chewy, large, and so flavorful. The molasses are my favorite but honorable mentions include snickerdoodle, peanut butter, and chocolate chip. They also have an assortment of cakes - we opted for a huge slice of carrot cake that was a "small" - and desserts. There were cinnamon rolls, tiramisu, and honestly so much more that I blacked out a little and wanted one of everything. All in all, we walked away with a full bag of bread and treats for only $32! They take card and cash. As I mentioned before, be sure to follow their IG @2acrefarms_sonorasourdough for what's offered daily!

WOW! We found this shop the night before, when arriving at the same shopping plaza to have dinner…read moreat Strings Italian(please see separate review). I looked up Bon Apetit - Crepes, Croissants & More on Yelp, saw a very good rating, but not too much information and only a few photos. Considering this business has been here more than 12 years, and boasted baked goods, I HAD to do my research and provide a bit more information. We came in after our breakfast at My Garden Cafe(please see separate review), so we weren't hungry but, again, research was the goal. The space itself was a bit surprising. Having occupied this space for so many years, I guess I expected it to look more like a restaurant or kitchen of some kind. It doesn't. The large interior space has a few small bistro style patio tables and chairs (even outdoor umbrellas!) and - I think - is meant to look as if patrons are dining al fresco in Paris, maybe??? But it reminded me more of a church or school bake sale. Folding tables with colorful tablecloths are pushed up along one wall and on them set large, food service grade, clear plastic bins with the baked good inside. Above each bin is a laminated color copy of the corresponding pastry affixed to the wall. Utensils, paper bags and tongs are available for customers to self serve their selections. A separate cart has a couple of industrial coffee carafes and paper cups for beverage self service, alongside a free standing water cooler. I asked if the pastries are made there and was told no. They are made fresh each morning by the owner, Bruno, and brought in in the bins and arranged, usually, under the display pictures to easily see what is in that day. So, while not conventional, this method obviously works, and has for OVER A DECADE. Unconventional bakery esthetics and sales methods aside, the products are what customers are repeatedly here for. AUTHENTIC, French pastries made from European butter, making them lighter than an angel's wings and tastier than the devil should allow. My husband was going to patiently wait while I chose my purchases, but I persuaded him to indulge in the last remaining buttery croissant as I added it to my bag of pain au chocolate. I'm such an arm twister.... CAUTION! Digression ahead: Recently, I had been excited about a different croissant purchase at a sandwich shop in Sunland-Tujunga, only to bite into something that was more like Pilsbury canned dough than a real buttery French croissant. I guess that unpleasant experience made me long for pastry vindication and Bon Apetit came through for the win! But even before my first bite, I asked Bruno what type of chocolate he used in the pain au chocolate. 'Today Belgian. I get Belgian if I cannot get French, because they are practically the same,' he replied in his lovely French accent. And I melted. FINALLY! I was getting AUTHENTIC pain au chocolate! I'm telling you, when you have had the real thing, an imitation French pastry, made with anything less than quality European butter and chocolate just won't satisfy. We enjoyed our lovely, delicious pastries a bit later, while visiting Bridalveil Fall in Yosemite. Briefly, I tried letting the pain au chocolate sit in the warmth of the sun's rays atop my dashboard, wishing I had a way to heat the pain au chocolate enough to soften the chocolate, but I just couldn't wait. I was still very happy and satisfied with the flaky, light buttery taste of the pastry and the wonderful flavor and texture of the chocolate inside. I am adding Bon Apetit - Crepes, Croissants & More to my "Cali Road-tripping" bookmarks and look forward to bringing my French pastry loving bestie with me for my return visit. Cheers! CC

What stands out immediately is how kind and welcoming the owners are. This is truly a family-run shop, and you can feel the intention behind everything they do. We bought a hoodie, hat, and t-shirt for my daughter's birthday, and she has been wearing them every single day since. The quality is incredible! I mean really. These are not cheaply made pieces. They genuinely care about the families who walk through their doors and he went out of his way to offer products that reflect that.
