I recently drove up to Amador County for an event (I live 2 hours away) and was told that if I stop at a fruit stand along the way and pick up some cherries, he will trade some SCRs for the cherries. (fair enough). I did, we did, I brought my SCR home and wrapped it tightly to enjoy the next morning. Next Morning Me is so happy she is writing this review!!!! I have been looking for a CR that lives up to its first name. Most CRs I find in the Bay Area are too heavy on the icing/sugar and too light on the cinnamon. In this case, Cinnamon is the middle name, but it should really be the first!!! This is it folks, this is what a Cinnamon Roll should be (to me, anyway). You can taste the cinnamon, it's not overburdened by sugar. The sourdough is chewy, but still soft, and I think I detect a hint of lemon in the icing. The icing is judiciously applied, meaning there is enough there to satisfy a sweet tooth, but not too much that I needed to scrape any off to taste the cinnamon. Dare I call it a Destination Cinnamon Roll? All I know is, next time my brother comes down to the Bay Area, I will be requesting said SCR! P.S. I have also tried their bread, which he has shared in the past, and that is also delicious!!! Volcano is tucked away, but is such a cute little town. If you are staying ANYWHERE in the area, get thee to Baked In Amador! (Or work a trade with a local!)

For starters I've had friends who worked at multiple locations have a terrible time, which they only hire women, one of those friends was a person of color and would be treated differently then all the other workers and ended up getting slowly taken off the schedule. The other issue is they never restock. I came a couple weeks ago and asked for a roast beef sandwich, they are out. So I ask for pastrami, they are out. I ask for grilled chicken, guess what, they are out. I thought it mightve been because it was later in the day, but ever time I've tried again they NEVER have it restocked. I dont understand how you run a business but treat workers like that, and never have anything. I forgot to mention the donut crumble is just old donuts that didnt sell, so they crush them up and leave them in a bucket for rats to get to (true story from the inside, maybe run a business right and these reviews wont happen, dont let me get started on all the corners EVERY restaurant out here cuts.)

The cafe offers a cozy, historic atmosphere making it a great spot for a quick treat. The cafe has an outdoor patio, and is dog-friendly as we met one who was popular and friendly with the locals. I appreciated that it wasn't too sweet even with the sprinkles and cherry white chocolate. As expected, the affogato was strong with the extra shot, but still smooth without being bitter. I need to remember to come back to Chocolatte more often. There's plenty of seating and the vibes are so cozy. Prices are okay, a little high but I'd rather be supporting a local business than Starbucks. They also have various pastries to choose from.
