It's call Center making spam calls based on outdated information while its finance team is not performing. Absolutely no customer service with this company! They put you on hold and then hang up and do NOT do anything they promise. After giving them over $7,500. for buy-out, they do not send a receipt, they do not provide any vacate the lien they put on the property and their customer service agents do not know how to explain what the customer's next steps are instead they just say "your account is closed"! This company is very unprofessional in the service industry: when you first call their 1-800-764-5138 number, someone would ask you a very long question including your name, home address, phone#, postal code, email address, then they will put you on hold and hung up ( it happened several times like this to me) so when you call again, another agent will ask you the same long question again. Once you finally completed the conversation, they said the dispatch will call you with the date and time of the service appointment. The dispatch was calling, they will only attempt to make a voice call ( this is a very old school way of contacting customer nowadays and do not understand why they do not send an email or text message since customer may not be able to answer a voice call...could be bust, driving, not hearing the ring tone or most people will not answer an unknown phone number due to the increasing spam calls (my call display did not show the Simplygreen business name while the dispatch was calling - it just showed a private number) .They would not even attempt to call you again while you missed their phone call. When you call them again trying to find out what was going on, they will blame you not answering their call! This company has a long way to improve their services. My water tank and heater are rental equipment from them but had been having issues since day one I moved into this house. We had become customers of Simply Green, when they bought Reliance. We had no problems until recently. A Month ago we got a message that Enbridge will no longer provide billing services for them and we must give them authorization to withdraw money directly from the account. Unfortunately I did it. Two weeks later I found that money were withdrawn from my account, and then I was charged the second time by Enbridge. call to Enbridge had reveled that, yes the service would be stopped, but not now in 2022, but in the December 2023. All my e-mails are left unanswered, and no body is answering calls at the number the give on their website. read more

STAY AWAY!! - Roughly 4 years ago we had replaced out hot water tank and we did it with Simply Green. I recently started a reno and wanted to make my house energy efficient and started to consider option on moving from a tank to tankless. The province has many rebates out there and I thought let's convert. I reached out to simply and asked for the buyout of my unit as all their competitors also state we will pay your buyout. A tank costs less than 2K and my buyout is 4K+. As a result I am stuck as the buyout is way out of line. Everyone I have talked have said this is wrong and trust me I am aware. I called Simply and asked for a recalculation and I stated the value of the unit does not align at all to their buyout calculation. Not in these words but the sentiment is "it is what it is and live with it". I asked to speak with upper management and they came back saying its calculated correctly... so then I asked ok can we just correct this and put me in a contract for a tankless and today they said "no.. there is still more time to expire on your existing contract". This has been a very stressful communication ... This is criminal and I would love the opportunity to chat with a senior exec and see if they have any signs of empathy. I don't know how you sleep at night when your customers pay the price for shady criminal contracts. Today is June 15th and I would love to see when this post gets removed or answered. Its amazing how many negative posts there are and the business manager reacts to some posts and not all. I have tried to break this contract and now asking if we can do something different .. the answer remains the same "No". They took advantage of my elderly mother and got her to sign a contract to "finance" a furnace, but it was actually a rental, so that means she's going to be paying forever. The payments have been increasing and they got kicked out of British Columbia and she has not had her furnace serviced in 4 years, but she still has to make payments. "POOR LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE = HIGH LEVEL OF CUSTOMER DISSATISFACTION" We have been customers to Simply Green since we purchased our home in 2015 when we took over the contract for our furnace from the previous owners. We had no problems until this year when we needed to call for a service as the furnace had issues working properly. After few visits from the service department to do the repair to the furnace, the technician mentioned that the thermostat could no longer be connected to the furnace, and that it need to be replaced (although on a previous report he mentioned that the thermostat was working with no problem). It took a very long time, on very hot days, and with a lot of calls from our end, to get the approval for another thermostat. Finally, a thermostat was installed to make the air conditioner work after our constant occasions of contact and complaints. Not only should we have been compensated for the inconvenience as well as the long delay, but we were even downgraded to a basic thermostat, instead of the 3rd Generation Nest thermostat we previously owned, which was in perfectly working condition at the beginning of the furnace service and got damaged during the furnace service. Our thermostat has been taken away by the technician who installed the new one. Being a migraine patient, it is crucial for me to have a smart thermostat to be able to access it without it being necessary to go up and down three levels of stairs any time I need to adjust the temperature. Finally, after about three months of constant, weekly, and even biweekly calls and complaints, we got a Nest thermostat installed, but of course Simply Green chooses to save a few bucks by giving us the most inexpensive model (Nest E) instead of Nest 3rd Generation we used to own. Simply Green should consider that we pay rent monthly for our furnace and until the end of the contract we will most likely be paying double or triple the price of the furnace, so they should not cheap out by saving 40-50 dollars to jeopardize their customer satisfaction. Some of the key competencies when applying for a job at Simply Green is "Honesty and integrity", "Excellent customer service skills", and "Owning the customer experience delivery". I did not see any of these skills during the customer service we have received. My calls were just recorded and ignored, with no action taken or follow-ups with updates, until we had to contact Simply Green ourselves. I felt deprived of my rights (as I was always refused to speak to a supervisor or a manager), disrespected and unvalued as customer. I was also told by a customer service representative that I am not Simply Green's first priority. This is the last thing a customer wants to hear from his service provider. I am extremely upset and disappointed on how my situation has been handled. My wife and I unfortunately signed a contract last fall with Simply Green Home Services and WOW we are so disappointed. We have been making on time payments now since January but still unable to turn on our Air Conditioner because installation is still not complete. I was looking for a new furnace in 2014. I had checked with a few local companies, but then Simply Green Home Services showed up at my door in Thunder Bay and talked about high efficiency and the need to update and other such stuff and for some strange reason I let them in. The salesperson, a nice young girl named Samantha Smith convinced me to sign up with them for a seven year rent to own agreement with 24/7 service and yearly maintenance. Being a new company in the area and wanting to help them get off the ground, I agreed and signed the contract. Less than a month later, I had a loud grinding noise coming from the furnace. I contacted Simply Green and they said there was NOTHING THEY COULD DO as it was the holidays--so much for 24/7 service! When they finally found someone to come to my house a couple of weeks later, it was a local repairman and he fixed the issue and then cited them with four red tags for improper installation. The mistakes (which should have never happened if they were real furnace installers) were fixed and life went on until this winter when I had another issue with the furnace which earned them another threat of a red tag by the local furnace repairman that they had to use (because they have no office in my town!). This repair also included having to remove the pipes that didn't pass the code and opening up the ceiling in my rec room to move the pipes to a spot that meant the regulations (they were originally exiting the house near my gas meter!). I finally decided to try to just buy out my furnace and hot water heater, and it was at this time, after reading the contract, that I realized that I was supposedly locked into a FIFTEEN YEAR deal with a financial company that I had never heard of or had any contact with. AND THEY SAY THIS IS LEGAL?!?!? Now I am trying to get out of this bogus contract because it was not what I had agreed to with the salesperson, but supposedly, Simply Green has a line on it that says the contract is for 180 month--who does that...puts a contract into months? I never connected the 7 years I had agreed to with the 180 months that they say I agreed with because I believed I had a 7 year contract. This company says it is trying to be legit and run an honest business but its practices say otherwise. Avoid this company at all cost. I had the unfortunate opportunity of having Simply Green Home Services knock on my door claiming to represent ENBRIDGE and seeking to check on my hot water heater. I was told by the person it needed to be swapped out because the interior was corroded. I agreed to allow them to return 2 days later and upgrade the unit as I was told "nothing will change on your bill, this will actually save you money". I took this verbal guarantee and signed the paperwork that employee Chris Thompson provided me with. He never discussed price and seemed to be genuine in his interest to assist me. The water heater was installed, and then about a month later I received my ENBRIDGE bill with an attached third party (Crown Crest Capital owns Simply Green). My rental for the original water heater which turned out to have had nothing wrong with it was $23 per month. Simply Green was now going to charge me $170 a month to rent this tankless water heater. I called in to speak with someone as obviously there was an error. The person on the phone told me they would "escalate" the matter and I would have someone call me. After several phone calls I finally got a hold of someone who was able to provide me with two options. The first option; 3 months of free service out of the 180 month contract and then continue at $170 monthly. Second option; purchase the water heater for $9100. The market value for this particular water heater is under $2000 installed. After getting nowhere with roughly 10 different staff members who pretty much all had the same answer "oh well, you signed for it" I finally hired a lawyer. My lawyer sent a few letters and now I am just throwing in the towel as they have agreed to $3600 to buy the equipment with no warrantee and no guarantees of functioning. Very little information exists on this company online...yet. The company charges $79.99 CAD per month to change out your existing heater for a high efficiency one, and calls this a rental fee. Another $79.99 is charged to replace your AC. Their rental agreement is for 180 months, making the cost of your new heater $14,400 plus the cost of gas to heat it. Like other walk-abouts, high pressure salespeople want your name in writing, and will tell you installation can happen the next day. read more

*HOME OWNER BE AWARE!* Google the company name and check out their BBB profile and you will know why. A sales person knocked my door to sell their heat pump rental service. Claimed free installs and a monthy fees covers everything. Told me a buyout cost would only be $7K. I agreed on the spot (he was very pushy) and when I spent a night to read the terms at the back of the contract, turns out it will cost $29K over 16 years and 8 months!!! Thank goodness there is a BC Consumer Protection Act that I can cancel the agreeement within 10 days which I did right after the next day. Their Director of Operation responded to me claimed this is not their standard sales practice (the face the rep first misrepresented himself as Fortis BC and lied about the cost). However, check BBB and all other online sources and you will see this happens all the time. Their agreement can destroy many home owners finances. read more

INDEED, HOME OWNERS BE AWARE! Two years ago, we had an air conditioner replaced by Simply Comfort. We basically lease the unit for ten years after which it would be fully paid off but they are supposed to maintain the unit for the life of the contract. Their service at that time was excellent. Then recently we learned that the business has been bought out by Simply Green. I contacted them in the summer because they were supposed to do an annual inspection. For weeks, I was unable to contact anybody. When they finally called me back, they said they were in the middle of a transition. A technician finally came to make sure the unit is ready for summer. Then ten days ago, the unit broke down just when were are having a mini heat wave. I called them but they were not able to schedule a service until one week after the first call. A technician came but left abruptly and said that he needs to come back within 48 hours without explaining what is wrong. I called their office repeatedly but they do not know what is going on. Then this morning another technician came and said that there is a leak in the line and will have to report to the office. He said that he cannot fix it without a work order from the office. We've had enough of this. Does anyone know if we can withhold our monthly payments because they are not fulfilling their obligation? First - very pushy salesmen will lie their teeth off in order to sell you hardware that you wont probably need (power efficiency, price, government "standards" etc) and try to gain access to your home for "inspection" and push you to sing the contract. Keep in mind - they work on commission... Second - My personal experience: contractor showed up (1 guy doing a 2-man job), started working on installation, left job half finished and called the main office telling them that it was done... and yet told me that he'll be back to finish the job on the next day and it will take 1-2 hours tops. It's been 2 days since that and nothing is resolved. Gave them a call - lies and excuses, "We are sorry, our dispatcher made a mistake and we will reschedule for tomorrow, he'll be there early in the morning from 9am to 12pm". Nobody ever showed up... Third - when you sign a contract, you have 10 days to cancel it. At this point it simply looks like they're delaying installation on purpose so that you can't cancel it ! And finally - ANOTHER salesman from the same company showed up at the door today offering the same exact crap... How do they even run this circus... it's just a joke. !!! The sales person was not truthfull at all. I was told I was buying a furnace for $7000. I later discovered that not 1 dollar I had paid into the furnace had gone towards the cost. Upon asking why I was told all payments are rental fees. The furnace must be bought after the fact for an extra $8000. I fought with them for many months and in the end they came and took the Furnace, I thought. Now it is 9 months later. Simply green is still trying to take money from me and also trying to harm my credit. I do not own the house the furnace was installed in and more importantly I do not have a simply green Furnace. A salesperson from this company came to my home while my elderly father was home alone (English is not his first language, and recently had heart attacks and stroke), and convinced him that the furnace and AC unit needed a filter to work properly. The salesperson never mentioned any monthly costs ($29.99 + tax) and that it is an industrial type HEPA filter. The filter is completely uncessary and has never been turned on for the past few years. It is also located at a very unsafe location in my basement (right beside the water heater, furnace, AC unit) in the same room as my washer and dryer. We have written numerous complaints to the company and they have NEVER responded back. We finally complained to the Ontario Consumer court and the Business Bureau. For a while, the company randomly stopped payments and we thought we won the battle. But now, a year later, they have restarted the payments!! Despite the complaints and consumer court case, they started charging our credit card without mentioning anything to us. I'm in the process of complaining to the Consumer court once again. Hopefully this time the company stops harassing and unethically conducting business. read more
