Had a decorated party here today. The space was perfect for both kids and adults. Plenty of couches for adults to hang out and talk while the littles ran around playing in each cute area. Our party attendant Zoey did an amazing job! She was attentive to guests, guided people coming in, cleaned up everything (including wrapping paper), and set up the cutest Unicorn themed party. She told me I am there to enjoy it and her job was to make my life easier. Yes!! Highly recommend for a party! read more

I had previously been going soley to the plainville location the last 2 years because the photos online made the Seekonk location seem a bit older, since its carpeted. But I was wrong, my daughter loves this one more. There are always other kids here, often I found myself having to play with her in plainville as many kids weren't around on weekdays but I have yet to be alone at Seekonk. It's clean and we all have so much fun. The only thing I would suggest to the owner, is looking into toilet seats that allow you to have a toddler sized seat and also adult! Just because I had a really hard time getting her to go potty since she kept slipping in. The girl working (kate? Kristin? It's a k!) is really sweet and welcoming. This is now our normal location since it's 3 mins closer than the other location. But don't get me wrong, both locations hit it out of the park. I'm considering the monthly pricing! read more

With all the fees they have with having party here doesn't even make the place worth it (bring in your own food fee, staying over fee) so many unsafe edges to get hurt on especially on the ship i would just go up to raynham and go to my village playhouse or even the play place in the Darthmouth mall. Myself and two other friends went out to get mani-pedis while our husbands took our babies to Play Date. After we were done, we headed towards Play Date to get our boys. The place is very cute and love how there's a section for the little babies that can't really walk just yet; according to the husband, he tried putting our son with the older kids and he almost got run over by the bigger kids running around so having the baby play section is very much appreciated! My only gripe is that it was super warm inside; I was already breaking out in a sweat within 5 minutes of stepping inside. Looking at previous reviews, this seems like an issue that management should take a look at. But other than that, an awesome place to take the babies when it's not nice outside! read more

This place is magical!!! Literally every kids dream and parents comfort zone. My first time here was for my daughter's 2nd birthday and I haven't seen her have this fun with her friends EVER! The owner Nicole is the best and as a mom makes the entire experience fun, care free and relaxing. Very affordable prices and sanitary for kids. We truly found a place our kids can enjoy. It's clean, neat and all activity centers for the kids requires no assistance. Moms prepare to sip your coffee and chill and kids prepare to have the time of your lives perfect for ages 2-6yrs (I would give it 6 stars if I could )! read more

Excellent "family fun" learning place for young children to play. Our 2 year old grandson had a great time!

We went this week and felt entirely uncomfortable. There were about 5 moms walking around wearing their masks around their chins. It is no wonder there was no reinforcement as the owner was doing the same! There was no signage about mask wearing or social distancing standards. There was no ventilation. The place was packed. The kids were aggressive and no one was holding them accountable or watching. If you want to remain covid safe don't go to this establishment. We sure won't be back. read more

Holy moly so hot in there!!! The thermostat read 76 degrees. We came here for some relief from a scorching hot 93 degree day! It was so stuffy I was getting dizzy. I asked the attendant to lower the temperature but she said she didn't know how to do it. This is our fourth time here and yes, the place is gorgeous! Full of lovely rustic details. I really do appreciate the design and decor; that being said, I have a huge problem with the staff and owner not cleaning up. The place gets very disorganized, which is exactly what I would expect; kids are playing and kitchen toys get into the sandbox and costumes end up under the slide; I GET IT! But, an hourly "reset" needs to be done at the very least so kids just coming in get to start off in an organized play space. Yes, the place is CLEAN, But not organized after the first half hour they open. It cost me $27 to bring two children under age 4. You would think for that cost either the attendant or the owner could do a quick walk-through every hour and put the toys back where they belong. In the 2 1/2 hours we were there the owner and the attendant chatted, browsed their phones and ate subway sandwiches. They did not even pick their heads up when my daughter let out a severe scream after being whacked on the forehead by a small hinged gate. Very frustrating!! I really hope this review is read and changes are made. I would like to give it another chance. read more

Attention all toddler parents: this place has it all! Your child can run around in a frenzy in a safe environment, playing with any and all types of toys (lots of Melissa and Doug) playing house, construction, dress up, arts & crafts, etc. - all this while you sit back on couches chatting with likeminded adults whom you meet for the first time or perhaps friends you decided to have a play date with, at play date. There's a coffee and tea area, snacks for sale AND nitro brew coffee for sale as well!! My almost 18 month old had a ball running from the slide to the house, then off to the kitchen, then to the teepee...I got a bit of a workout running around with her myself! There aren't any employees ensuring your kid won't get hurt so if your child isn't really of age to climb a slide and go down all by themselves, I suggest following them. Otherwise, everything else is great! There's also an area for non-walkers, a stage where your kids can pretended to be performers or watch a movie. I imagine this place to be packed on rainy days and the weekend, I went on a Monday and it wasn't all that busy. Since my tot has a winter birthday, I'm interested to consider this spot as a possibility for her party! read more

Pure perfection! Simple yet so well thought through! Actually wish the owner would open another in the Providence or Cranston area too! Playdate just seems to be planned to perfection! It is clean, open, spacious, relaxing for adults, and keeps kids entertained for hours! The toys are all high quality, well made, and stimulate little ones for hours! This is THE ONLY PLACE I felt my 15mo could explore on her own WITHOUT me hovering over her like "helicopter mom"! The level of cleanliness is like no other indoor kids play areas: even my daughter stayed clean despite her scooting her bum all over for hours! I certainly plan on visiting regularly and can't believe there aren't more places like this around! So happy price point, quality, location, safety, and design was so amazingly pulled together at playdate! read more

The place is quite spacious, clean, and neatly decorated. The toys are still relatively new. My kids definitely enjoy their time. Nonetheless, the temperature of that place is set rather warm, the kids, after running around for a while playing, were sweating a lot. So we couldn't really stay there for too long. There is also no enforcement of rules by the staff, it's kind of up to the parents there to watch for bullying (it's understandable, still not ideal. I wish the staff could be a little bit more vocal and proactive in reminding the parents to control their kids). The biggest problem is still the price. $15 a visit is more than the Children's Museum, which is at least 4 times the size (plus there is a water play area). Roger Willian Zoo membership is a little over $100 for the entire year. The monthly subscription costs $25 monthly plus a $39 "registration" fee. Even coffee costs $5 (for a K-cup, while Cumberland sells $0.99 coffee right across the street and Starbucks is also only a few minutes away). My suggestion to the owner is lowering the membership to no more than $100 a year. It may also be helpful to have certain days or hours designated for certain age group to protect the younger toddlers. To expand your revenue stream, you could cover renting out the stage area for product demos, local artists to sell baby/children products, or a manicure/back massage for moms. You can also use the space in the evening to host private events (wine tasting, mindfulness exercise, etc) for moms (for a fee of course). read more

Having moved from the Denver area, we loved having a plethora of indoor play areas for the kiddos when the weather was too crummy to enjoy and cabin fever took over. After being disappointed with the quality/cleanliness of available indoor play areas in the Providence area especially for preschoolers, we were excited to try Play Date as it seemed to offer everything we'd missed. Unfortunately, on each of the 4 or 5 visits we've made thus far, we've been disappointed. To be fair, Play Date is decent, well-conceptualized and pretty. It has everything a parent could want-- a clean indoor play space for a young crowd (perfect for the under 4 set), an affordable self-serve caffeine counter, a convenient location and a nice aesthetic. It is nice to bring your kids to a play area that looks and smells clean, and that offers ways for your children to actually play vs. be mindlessly entertained. However, it also has things that I didn't want-- high prices, a lack of maintained organization (after the first hour or so, the entire space is littered with toys, trails of sand are all over the floor, and it becomes difficult to even tell what the designated play areas were originally purposed for), disappointing customer service and frustrating experiences with the owner and one of her children. On most of the visits we'd made, we have experienced or witnessed issues related to the owner's unsupervised children. One of the children, a 3 or 4 year old girl, continually took toys away from other children, hit another child with a broom, threw sand, and would bossily tell other children that they couldn't play with certain things because she wanted to. We felt like as though we were unwelcome and uninvited guests in her home, not paying customers. During our last visit, the owner's children were supervised by an adult but not closely enough-- the 3 or 4 year old rammed one of the tricycles into an 11-month old pre-walker, knocking him down. The supervising adult was too busy sitting on the couch to even realize what had happened, and the child ran away laughing, leaving behind a crying kiddo with a very upset parent. It doesn't make sense to me that while adults do not have to pay for admission, you are required to pay admission for older children who are not playing. My older child had a day off of school and just wanted to sit on the couch and read while my youngest played. Upon checking in, the employee rudely told us, "10 year old kids are too big to play, but if you insist on bringing him, you have to pay for his seat on the couch." I begrudgingly paid for his admission so he could sit on the couch and read his book, but after we left, he told me that he felt unwelcome. This was our last visit. We won't be coming back, now that my daughter is 4 and has bored of their offerings and I have tired of the poor daily management of this promising business. read more

I honestly can not say enough about Play Date. The owner is so sweet and welcoming. It is the cutest place to bring the kiddos to, it is super clean, organized, they have organic snacks and drinks for the kids. It looks like Joanna Gaines designed it. It has everything you want in it to keep your child well entertained. I love coming here because as a mom of a 2 year old it is very hard to get together with other moms and just have a conversation but here they have an amazing coffee lounge area where you can see your child from any area and get to enjoy some adult conversations. Ok I truly can't say enough about this place. I'm going to have to break it down so I don't write a novel. :) -so fun -clean to my germaphobe standards -you can literally spend all day there -Parents get this, it's an actual play date for the parents as well. In my experience play dates end up being just chase the kids around without being able to have some adult interaction. -moms/dads of 2-you can do it on your own. You can see the entire place from any angle so it's completely manageable -great for babies as well -owners were on site,pleasant, and managing the place the entire time -met local moms -enjoy unlimited cold brew and refreshing drink for 5 dollars -super safe environment -my daughter had so much fun -you can purchase snacks there as well -I used to travel over 45minutes for a play area. I would travel 2 hours for this place, thankfully it's 20 minutes away. -not toxic soaps and antibacterial -it's literally like being at home This place is like no other. First time to Play Date with my two year old. Here's some pros and cons. Pros: Super clean and well lit. Toys are brand new and there's a ton of variety. Coffee bar and snacks available. Great area for non-walkers. Very easy to talk with other adults while kids play. Cons: It's pricey. Really ideal for 4 and under, my 5 year old would have been running over littlee kids. Adorable. Play date is like hanging out at a friend's house except your friend is a Pinterest mom who doesn't care when you leave the place a disaster when you take your exhausted child home. The space is clean, bright, welcoming but not overwhelming. The layout is well thought out and organized all child chaos considered. The center of the room is relaxed and comfortable allowing parents to let their kids explore and play with independance but also spacious and open enough for parents to play and interact with their children. There is a coffee bar, which is genius. The space offers a little something for everyone from dress up to art and even a sand box corner. The sand does get everywhere so it was probably my least favorite since sand on carpets is just naturally a mom anxiety trigger. Once you get past that guilt and the worry that your kid is going to dump sand all over another kid I'm sure it's fun. Bottom line my 3 year old who hardly ever naps has been out cold for 2 hours. I have been here many times with my 3 and 1yo and they love it!! However, today I wasn't very happy. First of all when I walked in there are shoes, coats and bags all over the floor and moms on the ground wrestling with their kids to get their shoes and coats on. That area where you walk in needs to be changed and make more organized. How on earth you find your shoes when you leave is beyond me! Thankfully, I had a backpack with me today so I was able to pack our shoes and coats in it. 2. Price is a bit high but not the end of the world. 3. What a disastrous mess! I've never seen this place such a mess it gave me anxiety. The snack area tables were all wet from spilled juice? Popcorn all over the floor and stuck to my feet. Sand all over the carpet. Etc etc. 4. There were too many people. I think this is the reason for all issues I've listed. There were just too many people allowed in at once. There also was alittle girl maybe 4yo that wouldn't stopped picking up my daughter and I asked her 3-4 times that my daughter wasn't liking it but she wouldn't stop. Like I've said this place was great I just hope today was an off day. The owner must clean up as the day goes. read more

I've been to Play Date at least a dozen times since it has opened and can't say enough positive things about my experience and more importantly, my son's. The space is gorgeous, really caters to the type of creative play that is so cognitively healthy for young children, and has many play areas of interest to all types of playing/learning. The owner remembered my son's name on our second visit, and has created a warm and inviting atmosphere for both my son and me. I'm very thankful that we have a place so close by that really meets both my son's and my needs for an indoor play space. read more

Absolutely one of our favorite places to bring the kiddos. I am a mom of two under two and the setting is perfect for both of the babies. My two year old girl can run around and enjoy the life size dollhouse, fire trucks, and the stage while my little guy has his own little gated private area where I know he is a little more secure. The environment is great for various ages and is always clean upon every single visit. The staff have always been a complete joy, welcoming us upon entry and asking if there is anything we and/or the children need. There is a also a great coffee bar for this tired momma of two! This is a great place for toddlers to have fun, imaginary play, and make new friends. They have thought of everything!! My kids love it here! So much that I had my daughter's birthday party here. Only complaints I have: I don't understand why they play movies during hours of play....as I am paying $30 for two kids to come there to avoid tv/movies/screentime. My son was immediately drawn to the movie on the stage and other children were getting upset that he was on the stage. Also, having a birthday party here and paying an exorbitant amount of $$ to do so, I found it rather odd that the owner's daughter was there and attended my daughter's party....without warning. I obviously don't mind one more person, but it would have been more professional had she at least asked or informed us ahead of time....as she ate the pizza and the cupcakes and was asking my daughter if we had a goody bag for her.... read more
