Came here on a Saturday evening around 8 and it wasn't super busy. We had to wait 10-15 min to start playing mini golf just to wait for the parties ahead of us to move to the next holes. They have a limit of 3 people per hole and 5 shots per hole and I can totally understand how that can help to keep things moving on the 18 hole course! Easily set up for a round of golf for four (two adults and 2 children). We went on our merry way in the dark... the real monsters were the family behind us that were on our tail and constantly looked agitated at us for taking out time playing. it was a holiday Monday and we were there to have fun. No need for us to race through the course and we were not dilly dallying. This has nothing to do with the facility and this is a con of mini golf anywhere you go. I'm torn on a rating because this place is cute, quirky, and for sure fun for a campy adult night out or a fantastic younger kids day out, but it falls well short of similar places I've been. The entrance and parking is around back of what appears to be an old KMart or such. At night, I would not feel comfortable here on my own and our group joked if, even during the day, our car would still be there when we came out. It was. Overall, the oversized decor and spooky props are neat and the black light effects are a fun twist on regular mini golf. However, it's evident the props have seen a better time and not all are being kept up. (There is a zero percent chance the massive furry ones are ever vacuumed.) Perhaps the strangest (and worst) thing about this course though is the actual golf aspect. Nearly every single hole simply wants you to put around a corner. And yet doing that is almost impossible. The places where you'd bank the ball (the little coffins) are dead zones and the ball just hits it and dies. Other side boards have been repaired from so many hits that they have padding instead. Further, all of the holes not deliberately made into a ramp (2?) are flat. No elevation/undulation/hills/dips/banking etc. just putt around a flat corner. We had three in our team and all of us would up taking the max stroke many times. Additionally, there's no end to one hole and the start to a next. While the holes are lit, you'll need to go seek the hole first every time, because you literally can't see 99% of them, and then also not putt it onto the next green. To me, it's clear this was a "how do we fit 18 holes here" and the answer had to be this awful layout that really impacts the fun of playing m. Unfortunately the repetition and difficulty don't add to the simplicity for a good time. Instead everyone is left frustrated. Every other group there while we were skipped holes. We enjoyed our time mostly because we were from out of town, but the locals around here deserve a bit more and a re-work of the course itself and some freshening up would help immensely. Side note, be aware this place has no food or water for sale. Not even a bottle of water. read more

Really nice little place. Yes it's a little hard to find if you don't know it's behind the Price Rite, and once you get there the entrance is a little bleak looking, but once inside it's worth the visit and the staff were extremely nice. I took my 5 year old son on a rainy day and we had a great time. The course is easy and I can see how it could get busy, but it's fun for a young kid. The black lights make everything glow, including the ball, clubs kid's sneakers and everything he was wearing. The art and characters were border line scary for my son, but they're whimsical enough that he got past it and really enjoyed it. The arcade was very small, maybe a dozen or so games and prize machines but it was a good cap to a quick game of golf. I don't think you could make a night of the place, but a good way to kill an hour or so with a young kid. read more

Amazing experience!!! It was a bit tricky to find but you just have to drive behind the Price Rite and you'll see the parking lot and entrance. They have so much to do here - lots of arcade games (skeeball, basketball, air hockey, deal or no deal, wheel spinners to win tickets). It's awesome. The mini golf was also super fun - we'd never been to an indoor mini golf or one that glowed in the dark before! Had such a great time, the only thing is sometimes we got held up by the group in front of us since there were only 2 of us and it's a popular place for small children! The lady on the phone warned us that there would be two birthday parties and not to come during those times! Thank god they gave us a heads up! I'd definitely come here again. Great wintertime/rainy day activity for all ages!!! Go through 2 sets of double doors and you are greeted by "Bernie" (as I affectionately call him) the statue doorman. The senses are bombarded by black lighting, neon paint, loud 80's music and the occasional "Monster Mash", roaring monsters, caged blow dart mongrels, and the distinctive scent of fog machines. For just $7.50 (or less, the business offers several discounts on various nights) you can play 18 holes of golf. The staff is very friendly and helpful, asking if you've ever visited the establishment before while wearing overly bright lab coats. They give a brief explanation of where to begin and how to finish and are available with any assistance along the way (like when I lost my pencil halfway through the course). And so began the adventure past pirate ships, clowns, jack in the boxes, strobe lighted hallways, etc. Although the course itself is not overly complicated, its the atmosphere and experience that makes the trip worth it. Comparing whose teeth glow the brightest under black lighting or who has mysterious dots of color on their skin/clothing normally translucent in the daylight. Putters, balls, and holes all glow in the dark as you make you're way through all 18 holes. The reason for 4 stars as opposed to 5 is how slow golfing can get when its a busy night. Groups start to back up and there is only so much room between holes to gather while passing the time. To save ourselves the extra hour, my group skipped ahead 3 holes, past 2 large groups of very slow, giggly teenagers. After completing the course and returning our putters/balls, the loser of the group was presented with a coupon to use for future visits. Not only is there the indoor golf, but arcade games, prizes, and even a party room decorated as a Sherlock Holmes period living room/dining room area complete with red satin walls and knick knacks to set the scene. My one warning for those tall people out there. . . .watch your heads when you stand near the, for lack of a better descriptor, Balrog (from Lord of the Rings "You Shall Not Pass!!!!") monster in the back corner. . . he swings his arm left and right and a friend almost found themselves backhanded by the thing. A few problems with this place Location- Weird location to have a mini golf place. It's in a plaza with Ann and hope and a price rite but in the back of the building which used to be a warehouse. Tricky to find so look out for signs that lead you to the entrance Arcade- I used to love the arcade, but now they got rid of some games and now they have a game card were you add money into it instead of tokens. Some games have tokens and you pay extra which is the catch and it's a rip off since you don't win on the arcade games. The selection of prizes when you have an amount of tickets is ridiculous because with 100 tickets all you get is candy and 500 tickets is candy and toys they break an hour later, but with 2,000 tickets you can get a gun that shoots balls out of it big whoop. Don't waste your money on the arcade. No one even plays in the arcade anymore it's very stupid and dumb. The course- The course is cool but very small and crowded at times. You can hit the golf ball from hole 10 and get the ball all the way to hole 13 which sucks. There are so many walls that the balls have no where to go and are trap so you have to move the ball to get a good position. The monsters some times come to "live" and scare you but it doesn't. Monster mini golf is a place where you can take your kids to go mini golfing for a half hour but don't go to the arcade and hope your not stuck behind a big group or else the game takes forever. I would come back on a rainy day on the weekday but this place for some reason never gets busy. read more

Brought a group of 15 students between the ages of 3-13 here for a winter vacation field trip. The kids had a blast! With a reasonable group rate, it was a great option during a rainy/snowy day. The kids thought the black lights and monsters were really cool. The older students were able to follow the course pretty easily, while the younger ones needed much more guidance. We went during the week right when they opened so we were happy to find only a few other families there. We were able to split our group up and start them at different holes as to get every through at a good pace. What I was really impressed with was one of our students only golfed for a few minutes and then got a little spooked by the course. I had her hand in her club and ball. Instead of just brushing us off, the man behind the counter transferred the price of her to golf to an arcade card. She was so happy to still get to do something and it really took her mind off being scared. This was not necessary, but super nice. I will keep them in mind next time I am planning a field trip! read more

Went with the family because I had purchased the Groupon. We have 3 boys ages 5, 2, and 1. Getting there was easy enough. The building is in a weird spot so we almost missed it but it was fine. We went at 1:00 on a Sunday and there were only about 3-4 other groups of people. Girls at the desk were friendly and helpful. Offered the baby a club as well but as he can barely walk, I kept him in the stroller. I was worried that we would not have enough room to navigate the stroller, but it was no problem whatsoever, as it sometimes is with other mini golf places. The whole inside is black lit, and it is monster themed. If you have little ones who are easily scared, I would skip this and wait until they are older. My oldest got a little scared from some of the decorations that were randomly jumping out and being loud.. but for the most part they are not TOO real looking or scary. Toward the end, before you go in the cave thing, there is a dog cage that looks innocent but it randomly jumps out and is really loud and creepy.. so I would probably go before little ones in that area.. thankfully it was just my husband who jumped from that one :P. There are also lots of clowns, skeletons, and ghosts among the various monsters. Besides all that, the course itself was fun. Challenging enough but not too difficult for all of us. We never felt rushed since it was not busy, so that gave the 2 year old plenty of time to push the ball around and have some fun without it being anything formal or serious. We did not keep score because we all suck at it but it was still fun and entertaining for us all. We didn't really use the arcade.. we had 4 quarters and loaded it on a card without being charged for the card itself like some places do. Used it for one game of air hockey. :) Overall I think this was a fun thing to do with the kids. I think my 2 year old was just too young to really understand, and I think I would be best for 5+, as long as they are not easily scared. Came here on a chilly Saturday afternoon with a group of eight. Couldn't find the location at first because it's in the back behind a Price Rite. We walked in and noticed that it was black lit and vibrant with neon lights. Most of us wore white. It was fun seeing our clothes glow. The staff was nice and helpful. It costed $9 per person to play. The putters, balls, and holes glowed as we walked and played a long the 18 holes. Since there were eight of us, we took about an hour and a half to complete the whole course. We didn't keep score because we all sucked but we all got laughs and smiles from seeing everyone fail. Indoor mini golf, with phosphorescent balls! Sure you get hit with balls a lot more than the outdoor version, but it's still pretty fun. The holes aren't all that challenging. They're really just a bunch of rebounds. There isn't a windmill or rabid gopher to block your shots. I would like to see a skeleton hand or a hole that's horizontal on the wall. The DJs try to liven it up with challenges and prizes. Don't come here when it's busy. You will wait, a long, long time! Also, it's better to come early before the place is overrun with rugrats. Loud, freaking music! On the 4th hole you have to putt right next the 15 inch subwoofer. Rocks the shit out of your cranium. read more

I've been looking around on Yelp for some fun things to do on the weekend with my boyfriend. Since it rains everyday in New England I wanted to find an indoor mini golf place, The one in New Bedford closed unfortunately. So I came across this! I read some reviews, Looked around on their website. Even got a coupon (We're going to save for another time we come) So first impression. I saw someone say the location is weird... it is Pulling up we thought it looked pretty sketchy until we saw the little sign that said Monster golf. Walking inside and it's almost like a mini Dave n busters! Tons of cool games and even air hockey. We only did one round today to just get a feel for the place. I learned that I SUCK at mini golf and my boyfriend is a cheater who likes to "Accidentally" kick or hit my golf ball somewhere else I really liked the glow in the dark spooky theme going on. The cashier was very nice. The only thing that kinda sucked a little was since it was busy. Each hole you're waiting behind people... And If you're bad like me you start to panic and feel bad for those behind you haha. But I'm definitely going to recommend this place to some parents. My younger siblings would probably love it! Having spotted a few of these at random RI/MA low-grade strip malls, I started with low expectations of what caliber mini-golf experience might be offered. Rainy day, was looking for something to do with an 11-year-old friend, and had a Groupon - nothing to lose. We walked into the blackness, illuminated only by the blinging lights of, ugggh, arcade games, surrounded by birthday party kiddies - the first thing I asked the attendant was whether I should just run screaming now? The eyes adjust quickly and once we got set up for the course my heart rate simmered down. I work with exhibits and I can appreciate the work invested in the setup - yes, it's cheesy, but it's not just cheap haunted-house decorations. Lots of cool stuff to look at and monters/rabid dogs that come to life and jump out at you... if you're into that sorta thing. I had interactions with three staff members in lab coats: each one of them friendly, funny, helpful, having a good time or at least convincingly pretending - and legit, capable, in-charge ADULTS (as in, not teens, the useless ones, not that I'm anti-teen, but you know the ones I mean). As for a mini-golf course... OK, it kinda sucks. If it ain't glowing, you can't *see* the terrain you're dealing with. Some holes on the course just didn't make sense as a challenge. And I'm not saying it was easy, in fact, some holes were friggin' impossible. Would I come back here for some wholesome entertainment with another adult(s)? Hells no. But it was a fun thing to do with a pre-teen where we could both golf terribly and have a little scare. read more

This is a great anytime activity. This is truly fun for all ages. Adults can truly appreciate the time and thought put into the concept. Children will just enjoy everything about it. The staff there is always friendly and courteous, and even offer special challenges and prizes. The staff works very hard to ensure everyone is having a great time. Just be careful on Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays as it can get SUPER busy. My secret - go 2pm on a Tuesday or Wednesday, you'll get to enjoy every little bit of it at your own pace. The holes are easy enough, yet challenging enough that it is a good game every time. I know a few of the hole-in-one secrets since I've been there over 20 times. And when you're done, you can play in a modestly sized arcade with lots of good games to win scary prizes. Four not Five b/c: Other than relying on sheer darkness and the fear of the unknown, very few holes require strategic planning. There are a couple of good surprises, like the air vents that unexpectedly blow your ball off course dagnabbit!...or the pretty common minigolf challenge of putting up a conical ramp. Still fun overall, but be warned the volume is very loud, and for me the dj who's TRYING to enhance your experience only comes across as an obnoxious jackass. When I find out there was a indoor mini golf near by , I jumped at the chance to play again. The atmosphere is great, they really show the monster theme with statues and a bunch of other stuff. The glow in the dark is also a perfect touch so wear white. They have a couple of games you can play for prizes, so that's another thing you can do. My review is specifically for two people going on Tuesday night... My boyfriend and I have always been big fan of mini golf, but had never ventured into the world of INDOOR mini golf. As we were searching around for new places to get our putt on, we stumbled across Monster Mini Golf. Loud 80s music? Black lights? Monsters? I was so in. I found a Couples Night coupon on their homepage, so we made plans for the next Tuesday evening. Nestled in the back area of a strip mall supermarket sits the very unassuming Monster Mini Golf. We actually weren't sure that was the place until we saw the sign. The back lot is kind of sketchy at night, but what can you do? We could hear the music pumping from outside. This was getting good. The place is fantastic and very clean. Spooky and silly monster paintings, sculptures, interactive bits all covered in black light paint! Awesome! We pretty much had the place to ourselves too (about an hour before closing time). The man who works there is very nice, attentive, and polite. He explained everything to us quickly and clearly so we could get onto our game! I supposed my only complaint would be that the holes are all pretty easy. They might have been a bit boring if I were by myself, but with company you can laugh about how your friend missed the shot completely. I would absolutely go again (and plan to very soon).
