So apparently when you become an adult, there's the decision to bring along an old rug with you to your new home or just toss it cuz you didn't realize how huge and gross it was after 3+ years of letting your beloved 4-legged children romp all over it. Since I'm a stingy (cheap) asian, enter Simply Rug. We were moving out of our previous house into a temporary apartment, so I wanted to bring my rug to someone because I wanted to get it out of the way when we moved. I wanted to buy some time while we figured out the storage unit situation. I called Simply Rug after reading the yelp reviews and was given a quote quickly over the phone. I saw they had a yelp deal available, but they offered the "Lug Your Rug" deal which was even better than the yelp deal. Yay! Essentially, they can go get your rug, or you can drop it off your self and save a %. On their website, there was an old price chart which was a bit confusing to me for some reason. Their Add-On services list did not say "per item" at the time, so I happily assumed paying $1/SF extra gave you access to the entire list. After seeing my sheer disappointment, Spencer threw in the storage wrap for free ($30 value), which I greatly appreciated. I think he saw my sinking soul as my brain tried to comprehend why I was dishing out a few hundred dollars to clean an old rug. Alas, I did the math and a new rug would cost a few hundred more (6' x 9' high pile). I ended up adding the Pet Odor Removal, as well, since I have had 4 dogs on the rug at some point of its life. Fast forward a few weeks, and I hadn't heard from them about the rug being ready. I gave them a call and they apologized for not calling (or they must've called the wrong number?). No problem, I was out of town anyways. I went to pick up the rug, which he rolled up in front of me into the bag so I could see its immaculate state. Now, if you don't think you need to clean your high pile rug, YOU'RE LYING TO YOURSELF. I could tell a HUGE difference in just having it in my car. I wasn't sneezing, coughing, or having itchy eyes like I did when I dropped it off. They also let me pick it up after hours due to my crazy schedule, since someone was there preparing for their corporate evening cleaning jobs anyway. That was greatly appreciated! Simply was going to charge me to re-lay an 8x11 solid wool rug in my dining room! Rug needed a deep clean and a few pet smell/stains neutered. When rug was picked up, it was unfurled in rear patio because we were moving back into the house and, in having probably 10 area rugs cleaned in the past in 3 different cities, re-positioning it in its room has never been an issue---even into rooms where the rug sat under a heavy credenza, sofa or King iron bed and 2 solid wood nightstands. when Simply FINALLY called to say my rug was ready for delivery, i reminded the guy what i had told him when he hauled it away--- it would take 2 men to position it and a serious quad tear would prevent me from helping. Salesman held firm that only he would be present, and i had several phone conversations with the owner who was equally adamant. Repeat: i have had at least 10 area rugs cleaned in the past and never ever was re-positioning rug under furniture, however numerous or heavy, ever came up. btw, i moved 10 chairs out of the DR so that only the table remained. Making no headway whatsoever, i arranged to have the rug delivered on a day when my yardmen were here, who helped. The cleaning work appears satisfactory but a small tear that i was told had been fixed for free remained intact. My husband and I had our town home carpets steam cleaned by these guys. Ryan did an amazing job!!!! He was professional and let me know how he was going to sanitize our carpet and went over the cost with me again (we had discussed over the phone prior to today) before getting started. We needed our carpets cleaned due to the fact that we recently had a puppy in our home that had parvo and now have a 8 week old puppy of our own that still has a few months until he is fully vaccinated. We are in the process of sanitizing our entire home to protect our puppy but the carpets are something we needed done professionally. We have heard that the only thing that 100% kills parvo is bleach, but the next best thing is very high temp steam. Ruggs by Suggs has the highest temperature steam we could find out of all of the places we called. The fact that Spencer was very knowledgeable and genuine over the phone was icing on the cake. Where to start? My husband spilled a venti coffee on our cream colored area rug a few weeks ago and we were left with the decision to toss it or attempt to clean it. For reference, it is a jute blend rug which are all the rage now at Crate & Barrel and West Elm. After a quick Yelp search I came across Simply Rug Cleaning. Great reviews, good pricing, and location near us. I called for a quote and Spencer was great! He gave me some info and was really upfront about the possibility that it may not even be a good option to have my rug cleaned (details about tannins, temperature of coffee, rug material & blends, etc.). I learned a lot and it honestly influenced our next rug purchase (WOOL!). I got a fair quote and was offered the option to have it cleaned -- if the stain came out I could pay and pick it up. If the stain didn't come out, I didn't have to pay and they would keep the rug to use for training. This was a great option for us because our rug wasn't very expensive so it wouldn't break the bank to replace it. I'm not sure if this would be offered to all customers, as our rug was fairly small (5x8). Fast forward to picking the rug up last week. It looks great...the stain came out and the dirt from regular wear & tear also came out. The guys that work here are so friendly, informative, & professional. I received excellent customer service from Spencer, who gave me a discount for finding them through Yelp, and was very flexible with me as I had to change the appointment a couple of times to accommodate a house cleaning session as well. On the morning of the cleaning, Travis arrived on time (which we certainly appreciated because the house was vacant, so we didn't want to be hanging around and waiting). He walked through the house, and we explained that the carpets were actually in pretty rough shape even when we moved in. I used this company on my favorite rug. It's super soft and I love the colors! I couldn't bare to give it up, but after 10 years of dirt and dog love, I decided to see if having it cleaned could save it. Now, let me be clear. I have been a dog foster home for the last 7 years. This was my first time taking a rug to Simply Rug Cleaning. These guys are great. I was able to call in advance and get a preliminary estimate before I went. So no big surprises. There had been a pet accident and Spencer quickly spotted it with his special light. He explained the process and told me it would at least be a week or more before they were finished. However they were ahead of schedule and got my rug finished easily in a week. My rug looked great just like new. If you thought all they did was rug cleaning, I'm here to tell you that if you have those cheap rubber waffle-like pads under your rugs,,,,, get rid of them now.
