I have always driven by this when going to the gym but I have never stopped by. But I finally had the chances which is great cause it was a pretty good experience :) The fact there is a outdoor and indoor seating was great but that also meant it was dog friendly and in my opinion the more places that are dog friendly the better! The latte itself was pretty well done! I wish it was little less sweet but other than that I would get again. They also had a blueberry muffin which was very interesting. Like idk if I can say if it was good or bad haha but overall fun experience. I just wish that the interior seating was a bit more comfortable but I liked this place. Overall a 4.5/5, but bumping it to a 5/5 for good nitro cold brew tasting notes, which can be difficult to find. My friends and I stopped by after lunch this past Saturday since we wanted coffee. I got the NITRO COLD BREW - 16 OZ (5.50) which came with... ice? Typically, the drink doesn't come with ice, but this one did. It did dilute the drink a bit, unfortunately. I've always enjoyed the cappuccino at Simply Social Coffee, and it's one of the reasons I keep coming back. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was a very disappointing experience. I saw a croissant on display, but there was no label or sign saying what it contained. I asked for it, and the employee mentioned something, but I didn't clearly hear or understand that it contained ham. After taking my first bite, I realized it had ham inside. As a Muslim, I don't eat pork for religious reasons, and this was extremely upsetting. I felt sick and ended up vomiting afterward. I asked if I could exchange it for a cookie since I had only taken one bite, but I was told I would have to pay for another item because I had already bitten into the croissant. My biggest concern is that the pastry wasn't labeled. In an area with people from many different cultures and religions, it's important to clearly identify items that contain pork. Many bakeries and coffee shops already do this, and it helps customers make informed choices. I left the croissant on the counter and walked out feeling very disappointed. Sadly, because of this experience, I don't plan to return to this location. I hope they improve their labeling so this doesn't happen to someone else. read more

I'm in Fairfax for a doctors visit so I wanted to try a new coffee joint. The staff were super friendly and helped me with a good recommendation. I got a Crème Brulé iced decaf latte with whole milk and it came with a cookie on the side! It was delicious! I would come here again if I was local to the area. I'm a bit of an espresso nerd, so when I travel I like to try new cafes. Often the safe choice is a cortado as the milk will hide a lot of flaws in the espresso. I didn't do that here. I jumped in with both feet, and ordered the espresso. I made the right choice. The espresso was perfect. Fruity and delicious. The next day I returned for another espresso and a Belgian Waffle. The waffle was Brussels style, light and airy with a generous amount of whipped cream, strawberries and blueberries. After finishing my breakfast I ordered a cortado, which was properly made, equal volume of milk and espresso, the milk perfectly steamed. The barista is both well trained and cares about her craft. All in all, the only downside is the drinks are served in paper to go cups, but the quality of the beverage overshadows the paper cup. read more

A friend recommended this coffee spot, so we decided to stop by after a disappointing experience at another tea place nearby. I usually order matcha and always ask for less sweetness, but I was surprised that here the drinks are pre-made, so they couldn't adjust it. Unfortunately, the matcha turned out much too sweet for me and also quite watery. My friend had a chai latte and felt the same watery and not as flavorful compared to other places she's tried. That said, I don't want to judge the whole shop based only on these drinks. It seems like they focus more on breakfast items and coffee, so I'd be open to coming back to try those instead. had a very disappointing experience at Simply Social Coffee today. I came in with my service dog, and the first thing the cashier told me was that dogs weren't allowed inside and that I needed to go outside and order online. This was not only disrespectful but also potentially illegal in Virginia, as service dogs are legally allowed in public establishments. I had to step outside, hand my dog to my husband, and then return to place my order. When ordering my latte, I asked for light ice, and instead of just noting my request, the cashier took five extra minutes to explain that my cup wouldn't be filled to the top. While I understand portioning, the way she said it came off as unnecessarily rude and condescending. As I waited for my order, I noticed a board covered in Polaroid pictures of dogs, making the place seem dog-friendly--which made the refusal to allow my working dog inside even more contradictory and misleading. If this café truly cares about dogs, they should at least allow service animals inside for a brief moment while someone orders, or at the very least, offer to take an order and bring the drink outside. To top it off, my latte with "light ice" was indeed not filled to the top, which was just the final frustration in an already bad experience. The lack of respect, poor customer service, and confusing policies make it unlikely that I'll return. read more

Nice spot here. Definitely really nice employees and vibe. It is a chain, but doesn't feel that way. This is a smaller more intimate location. They have a variety of coffees, teas, and foods. All are quite good. I like this better, than corporate giants Peet's and Starbucks. You'll get a better value here. Also I think it's more laid back. All of us need "chill time" here and there. Service isn't the best here, our cashier was a bit rude. They do not give you water and charge for this, which is strange for a cafe. On the day we went, they had "run out" of bottled water to sell but clearly had tap and ice which the workers were drinking from. It shows negatively on a business to not provide buying customers a drink of water and being cheap. The harvest smoothie was good and the coffee was just okay. The interior is quite small with 2-seat round tables and they have outdoor seating, but it is roughly 4 feet from the parking lot and is loud. I had originally gone in hoping for almond or oat creamer, but they didn't seem to have the option for anything other than oat milk, coconut milk, and almond milk. I ordered a nitro cold brew with oat milk and there was a bit too much ice in it, which watered down the taste a bit too quickly (within ~8 minutes). The coffee tasted decent--not as flavorful or concentrated as I'd expect cold brew to be, but much more full than if it were made thoughtlessly. They serve all their drinks with a wafer piece which was a nice touch, though I think it distracts you from the flavor of the coffee a bit. It may complement the coffee better if it were slightly less sweet. -- The vibes in the shop are bright and made me feel productive. A good place to meetup with friends and chat! I'll be honest, I'm very very conflicted about this place. Given they are almost walking distance from me, I really really wanted to love them. I wanted to become a regular and come here for my drink and breakfast as often as I could, treat them like my friendly neighborhood cafe. I just can't get over their prices, the quality of their food and their refusal to be able to customize my drink ( i realize fully that drink customization is a very first world problem, but given I have to pay an arm and a leg for my drink, I want it to be how I like it). I've tried a couple of breakfast sandwiches - super average, but almost double in price compared to other neighborhood delis and such, and the ingredients are the same! I don't understand that. $12 for an avocado toast - I just can't wrap my head around that, especially since it wasn't even that tasty. They don't have too many food options either in my opinion. I'm not a huge coffee drinker, so it's either tea or steamed milk for me. Expect lackluster options and lack of enthusiasm from the service if you are not going to indulge in one of their fancy lattes. Sadly I tried the place 3 times and gave up after that. My review is similar to one a week ago from another Elite. This place is up the street from me so I was excited to try it out. Initially I wanted an iced coffee but was told they don't have iced coffee so I upgraded to an iced latte. I also was asked if I wanted an extra shot which I declined to avoid the cost going up. For a large latte with 2 shots (not 3) and an almond croissant it was $12. So not a place I'd really go to every day let alone once a week.
