This is an awesome place to grab a bite to eat. Yes, they are on the more expensive side of things, but that is because they have quality ingredients and absolutely load the sandwich with ingredients! They have a variety of hoagies that range from basic, one meat (like ham, turkey, roast beef) to the craziness of an eight meat italian! One thing to note is that they do charge extra for specialty cheeses. They have buffalo wing and horseradish cheese which will cost an additional $2. They also have a variety of add ons that are quite tasty! I love their hot relish and their spicy pickles. I know they make the relish, but I'm not sure on the pickles. The bread is fresh and the veggies crisp. The staff is mostly high school age kids, but they were friendly and efficient. Able to answer questions and were ok with requested changes and additions to the sandwiches. There are several parking spaces right in front of the building that makes it easy to get into and out of. And the interior had several tables for customers to sit and enjoy their hoagies. The tables and the restaurant in general were very clean and bright. The owner is also community minded. He is running a program this summer that provides free hoagies to kids in need, no questions asked. With all the cuts to programs that help with food insecurity, I know this will help a lot of families! Gonna be honest I'm not a big fan of cold hoagies only exception i typically make is for jersey mikes, i prefer my cheese gooey and melted and like the hoagie roll to be either grilled or toasted... So i found this place on Facebook thru shares or whatever for the original location then i saw they were opening a new location somewhat close to me.. i didn't really make a attempt to go because again cold cut subs aren't my thing.. So i was driving by this way on my way home from work and said why not... worst case scenario, it isn't good... Well that's not the case I'll still prefer a toasted or grilled sub 9/10 times... But this place is very good, the employees are all friendly and kind and with many high school kids(assuming the age) they don't give a damn and don't put effort in customer service or even making a product... The employees were great the owner was kind and i felt welcomed... But how about the food It was really good, fresh veggies and good cold cuts at a decent price i reccomend it esp if your into a cold cut sub this place does it well... i rather have this any day than subways crummy subs... support local business I will be back, i was def impressed! read more

New sub place in what used to be a Subway. I kept hearing about the progress and hype surrounding this 2nd location for Glads. Sadly, I wasn't that impressed with our order due to the cost and the weird ordering set up. I typically like to see the actual toppings , but the layout doesn't allow it. The bun was too oversized for me. It does look like you are getting a pretty big hoagie, but the meat is sliced so thin , which is good, but they hardly put any meat on it for the price. Service was quick and friendly. We were there around 3, open until 5, but they already had the chairs placed up on the table as if they were encouraging you to do take out vs dine-in. I am sure the community will support the business but since its not part of my travels, its doubtful I will return. read more

HOAGIE BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!! if I could give a negative score I would!!! When I heard Glad's Deli was moving into the old Subway location, I was genuinely excited. My family and I had been regular Subway customers, and we always enjoy trying new local businesses. During the grand opening, the line was extremely long, so I just stopped in, grabbed a menu, and decided to come back a few days later. A few days after the grand opening, around 10:00 a.m., I walked in and saw the owner working near the front door. Thinking they weren't open yet, I smiled and said, "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry--I didn't realize you weren't open yet." He looked at me and sarcastically replied, "Yes, we're open." I brushed it off, figuring maybe he was just having a bad day. I looked over the menu and noticed the prices were a little higher than I expected, but I decided to give it a try anyway. When I got to the counter, the owner asked, "What do you want?" His tone made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. I ordered a half turkey hoagie, which was listed at $10.99. He asked if I wanted lettuce, tomato, and onion, and I declined. I then asked what other toppings were available. Instead of telling me, he repeatedly responded with, "What do you want?" I had to ask one topping at a time--pickles, olives, banana peppers, etc.--and he would only answer yes. When it came time to pay, I inserted my card without paying close attention because I was honestly caught off guard by the interaction. After paying, I looked at my receipt and was shocked to see my total was $15.99 for a six-inch turkey hoagie that had been advertised at $10.99. Thinking there might have been a mistake, I politely asked one of the employees how the total came to $15.99. She was very kind but wasn't sure, so she asked another employee, who explained that toppings cost an additional $1.50 each on a six-inch hoagie and $3.00 each on a whole hoagie. She showed me a small sign that had been kept behind the register. I was surprised. Three toppings added $4.50 to a six-inch sandwich. Since this was my first visit and the sign wasn't visible while ordering, I asked if they could simply remove the toppings and refund the extra charge. The owner came over and seemed annoyed. He told an employee to "just give her a couple bucks back," then began arguing with me. He said, "What do you think this is? This isn't Subway. You don't get all the toppings you want here." I tried to stay calm, but he continued making rude comments. Eventually, I said, "Please just refund the entire order. I don't want the hoagie anymore." He replied, "You want me to refund your money for your own mistake?" I explained that this was my first visit, I wasn't told toppings were charged individually, and the pricing sign wasn't visible from where customers ordered. I felt that information should have been communicated before I paid. What upset me almost as much was seeing how uncomfortable one of the employees seemed during the interaction. She was visibly shaking while processing the refund. I told her, "I'm sorry, honey. It's not your fault," because I genuinely felt bad that she was caught in the middle she seemed to be scared of him . As I was leaving, I told the owner I would be sharing my experience with friends and family because I was extremely disappointed by both the customer service and the pricing. I also said I didn't think many people in the area would be willing to pay those prices, especially with that kind of service. As I walked out the door, the owner yelled an obscenity ( F&&k you B&&ch ) and insult at me. I was stunned and simply kept walking. In all my years as a customer, I have never experienced anything like this. My issue wasn't just the extra charge for toppings--it was the lack of transparency, the way I felt I was treated, and how the situation was handled. There are many local places in the area where I've consistently received friendly service, fair prices, and great food ( such as the PT Pitt stop and subway in Jeanette) Based on my personal experience, this won't be one I'll return to. I decided to give this place a try since I live close by. Prices on the menu were pretty high, but I thought so is everything else these days. I ordered a turkey and roast beef (6 inch) listed on the menu for $12.95. When the cashier said my total was $15.90 something, I asked if a mistake had been made. Nope, $2 extra for horseradish cheese. The menu said Swiss cheese or Horseradish cheese) but no indication there would be an extra charge. Mind you, $2 extra for 1/2 size sub. When the sandwich was ready, it was a fairly thick wrapped up package, so I thought, well at least they put a lot on it for $16. Nope. All lettuce. RB and Turkey were 2 very thin slices each. Finally, it was cold, not even warmed up. The bun was thick and mediocre tasting. I will never go back there and I predict they will be gone in a year. read more

I tried Glads Deli for the first time on April 4th (day before Easter). My mom ordered a few different sandwiches. But the American Italian was the best! I've been thinkin about that sandwich ever since I had it. Got the opportunity to stop in and grab another one today. I'm getting surgery tomorrow and this was what I wanted before I got my surgery.
