On 9/24/25 we brought 16 Residents from Swan Pointe HOA to have dinner at Simply Thai Restaurant. They have 2 locations, St. Matthews and Middletown. They offer authentic Thai food and Sushi.  We were seated and we met Natasha. She was going to be our server tonight. I remembered her from last year. While she went around and got our drink orders she also passed around waters at the same time. We looked through their huge menu. My husband wanted to get the Egg Rolls. He thought there would only be 1-2 in the order but when they came, there were 4 Egg Rolls on the plate. They were beautiful. They were  about 4" long and they were golden brown and came with the most delicious Mango Sauce.  Several people ordered them after they saw how inviting they looked. They were only $5.99! Some people ordered Sushi.  Then my husband and I started looking at the menu again. We ordered Pad Thai Chicken. It's Rice Noodles with Chicken and it's good. We ordered with no heat level.  *When you order a meal, you get to select the heat number that you can tolerate. We only had 1 person order a 3! About 5 people ordered the pineapple. It's half of a pineapple that's been scooped out and filled with different ingredients. Pineapple Fried Rice, Raisins, Peanuts, and a protein. (Chicken, Shrimp, Steak). Natasha did a good job keeping our glasses filled, bringing out the dishes, and keeping up with all of us. She was super jcollecting the checks and money. Thank you Natasha! Robyn

We came after our visiting a spa, we were told there was a 25 mins wait for a table for 2 but we were offered seating at the bar. We were seated and only giving one menu until the bartender gave us another. They were a little bit busy but there still a couple of empty tables. The bartenders were really nice and helpful, we got waters and order some cocktails. The Thai colada was good and little sweet. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken noodles spice level 2 with the papaya salad and Tom Kha soup with tofu. We also ordered the bourbon salmon roll as an appetizer, It took awhile for our food to come out. The roll was decent and beautiful plated. My favorite was the papaya salad, refreshing with just little spice and crunch. The soup was also so delicious a little creamy and fragrant and just hit the spot. The noddle was delicious as well. It was so much food and couldn't eat it all and we were given to go containers. Overall it was decent experience the food was fantastic and the service was good. Reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. Definitely another to go place on my list.

Thai ice tea - the more you drink the better it gets. Yum!!

Wow, a long time since I've updated my review. We are regulars of Simply Thai and often pick up the order for takeout. Pad Thai is our favorite and we appreciate ordering it at level 0 or 1 and then have more sauce on the side to add as desired. Always full of flavor and a nice ratio of chicken. If you do plan to visit, plenty of seating, including tables for large groups. Casual attire is fine. Service is helpful and friendly.

Very cute place in a strip mall by Havana Rumba. Tastefully decorated. Feels like you are on vacation. Service was timely and pleasant. This is my second time there. This summer I went with my sister. I had Red Curry with tofu and have dreamed of it ever since! She had the Green Curry and loved it. We split Satay as an appetizer. Very good! Returned tonight with my husband. We hated an order of Egg Rolls. Four in an order with a nice dipping sauce. The wrapper is more of what I am used to on Spring Rolls but loved them! My husband ordered the Salmon in Mango sauce. I thought it was delicious! He wasn't as thrilled but Thai is a little out of his comfort zone lol. I had to have the Red Curry again. Although it wasn't as good as I remember it, it was still fantastic. I will definitely return to try the Pad Thai. I love that they customize the heat level of the dishes for you on a scale of 1-5.

I don't typically eat tofu but I love the Pad Thai with tofu. I have tried other places and no one else is as good. The kitchen is a little slow but the food makes up for it.

Eggrolls and mango salmon are so delicious! The fried rice was really good especially with the mango sauce from the salmon! Get everything a spice level 2, perfect amount of spice but not spicy!

Greattttt food. I wish I got a spice level of 2 or 3 tbh. Pretty good service. Pad Thai and the Pad Kee Mow were both good (I sampled my friend's). Seems like a pretty popular lunch place and I bet it's even more popular for a dinner spot!

Excellent place with superb service. Our curry was great, good value and overall a very enjoyable dinner. Place is very inviting, option to seat inside or outside. Covid guidelines are followed and mask are optional for vaccinated people per government guidelines. I'll come back to taste other dishes as their menu is extensive.

I recently had Simply Thai takeout; but, today was my first time sitting down and taking it all in. Located in Middletown, Simply Thai is tucked away off Shelbyville Road. I'm so glad I decided to try it. I'll never look at fried rice the same way. Let me rephrase, I WON'T settle for just any fried rice. The Green Curry Fried Rice is the bomb. Their menu is extensive and if the rest is like what I've had then I'll be a frequent flyer. I love how their obline and in-room dining let's you measure your "hotness". This is the first time I've encountered a place that does this. It's smart! I ordered mine with a O which still had the curry kick. For a vegan option (just because the mood) choose eggplant. It's delish. I cannot forget the starter to my meal and that was the shrimp dumplings. Little pockets of heaven. The crispy garlic on the top along with their dumpling sauce was ooh-la-la. I'm glad I was by myself so I didn't have to share. Sorry babe

Our waitress checked with us frequently and made sure our glasses were full and that our food was good. It was absolutely delicious! My friends really enjoyed their drunken noodles and my pineapple fried rice chicken was great. Very flavorful and the proper texture. The rice was not too dry/overcooked as at other places. The portions were very generous. We all took home leftovers to savor later. So, it really is very reasonably priced also!

The food last night was quality; the pad thai, jalapeño beef, spring rolls, shrimp fried rice, etc ... all kicked ass & we took home plenty of Sunday dinner/Saturday leftovers. So here's my 'suggestion/watch out' negative to all who read this - 8 minutes to serve the apps - not bad. But then nothing from a waitress with 2 tables who were already eating. We were her only other table. The apps were followed by 35 min to deliver 6 plates of rice & noodles ... that's unacceptable. I suggest your staff be trained better, & that the owner/manager (she was there) help out when a table is ignored like we were. There were 4 2-tops and a 3-top when we arrived, and one 3-top came in after us. We waited until after the dinner rush for a reason. So. That's my suggestion. Service speed & pacing is half the tip, if not more. Now ... (clears throat) ... here's my 'watch out' - the server handed me a bill with a 20% gratuity already on the bill; and the tax was generated ON THE TOTAL WITH THAT TIP!! No notice on the menu or anywhere about large parties & automatic tip policy. Nothing. And 2 adults + 4 kids (ages 6-12) with no high chairs ... that's not a large party anywhere I've heard. Now back to the overcharge ... that's a violation worthy of mention to y'all Yelpers, & to the licensure offices in Louisville city & Jefferson County. If this business has done this previously & kept that excess tax ... that's a federal violation that can shut a restaurant forever. Now ... I don't like reporting small businesses in general nor will I report them for this tactic. But Yelpers need to know, & watch for this. This nonsense has to stop, and no amount of good food makes up for these abuses. It happens often. Be aware. Aftermath: the boss removed the gratuity when I told her what happened. She was nervous as hell (as she should've been). Her reaction gave me the feeling that either she had knowledge of this practice OR she realized her server had put her business in peril ... but she was REALLY edgy & apologetic afterwards. With all if this, I didn't use it as an excuse to NOT tip. I waited & bartended for over 20 years myself. I left 15%, which is very kind considering what they tried to pull off. But the food was excellent. I took no photos. The rooms are fairly industrial park & not much in the way of stylish. I don't count that off on the gratuity or blame employees. The boss makes that choice. She needs to address placing boxes in aisles & cleaning products here & there; it makes for less than pleasing ambiance in any eatery. I'm tempted to avoid this place, but in a week or so, I intend to go back and let the boss read this (if they don't see it sooner) and tell me what's what. I'm open to correction, so is anyone... or any business. Maybe we'll shake hands & I'll leave with a bag full of food. After all... it was good the first time, and I'm a fat bastard. I need my carbs! So ... if you read this far ... God bless you. See you next rant...

We ordered carry out from All Thai'd Up, a new restaurant in the former home of Gasthaus. Ordering on Toast was easy, and the food was ready quickly. A friendly employee passed it right to me When I walked in the door. The spot feels cozy and inviting, and I would love to go back and dine in again soon. The food stayed warm throughout the drive back. Everything we tried tasted wonderful - from the mango sticky rice to the pad see ew, and the pad Thai. Portions are a generous size and I ate most of my dinner, leaving about 1/3 of it for another time. This is one spot I'll be adding to my list to hit up again!

The crackers are extremely thin and makes a mess unlike the traditional rice crackers usually served this dip. We ordered pad kraw pao and boat noodles for entrees. The pad kraw pao was extremely salty. Almost inedible but the rice saved it kind of. I regret not tasting the liquid before spooning it on to my rice though. The boat noodles tasted off. Like the blood added for an emulsifier was old or the temperature was off when add. It really threw the soup flavor off that even adding condiments couldn't save. For dessert we got mango sticky rice and the coconut ice cream. They both looked delicious. However salted coconut cream that was on top of the ice cream was ridiculously salty too. Luckily we didn't pour it on the mango sticky rice and were able to control the saltiness. I really wanted to like this place since it was advertised as authentic Thai and I'm always searching for that but unfortunately the food just didn't hit. And it may be authentic in technique but the flavor is not for me. But there were plenty of other patrons that seemed to enjoy their food.

First impressions: very clean facility, very warm and welcoming owner (Trieck was his name) and his adorable daughter doing homework by the cash register. He very kindly explained how he understands that vegetarian pho does not have meat And that he has the Buddhist version of the pho that his mom eats. I ordered to go because I wanted to run next door to their grocery section. I love me a good Vietnamese grocery store and products from all over the world. Pho is typically eaten at the establishment to make sure that the fix-ins and the method of consumption is 10 on 10 aka it does not hold very well when transported. I was happy to find that they had done such a great job packaging all the fixings and the soup. Very generous portions. I proceeded with the taste test. I have learned from my Vietnamese friends that you never add condiments to your soup right off the bat. You must savor the soup the way it is the first couple times to truly get all the flavors in before you start adding stuff . This was excellently seasoned broth base. The base was just perfect to me. After creating the whole experience at home, I can say I truly did enjoy eating pho from here. Good vegetarian phos are hard to come by and I will definitely return to try their other delicacies. If I had a couple words of wisdom, I think the soup could use a few more pieces of vegetables and tofu. But overall, I throughly enjoyed my meal and will return.
