    Corn Ribs
    Justin M.

Overall my wife and I had a great meal. We started with cocktails and the corn ribs. I had the Purivian Sunrise and it was great. The corn ribs were a unique item that we enjoyed a lot. I got the Udon Noodles and my wife the Ramen. Both were excellent! The serving size on the Udon was a bit small though. Our server was very attentive and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place is small but very nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a casual place even though the decor feels a little nicer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Note: They charge an extra 3.99% if you pay with a credit card. This bothers me a lot and I almost made this a 4 star review over it. If they need to increase the food cost then do it, but don't hide charges like this.

Running late due to the difference in time zones so arrived at 8pm instead of 7pm. Only one family in the place when I arrived. I was seated immediately by a sweet young lady who seemed to be working the front by herself. I opted to sit at the very nice bar so it would be easier to cleanup. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice upscale interior with Santa hats on the bar stools.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waitress and i discussed the menu and I went with her recommendation of the tuna. Since this appears to be a family owned and operated business they should know and she did. The tuna was delicious. We then discussed deserts and she advised that her cousin was working on the Tres Leches desert so I opted to be a test dummy. Great night to be a test dummy. The Tres Leches cake had a lemon sauce (very faint lemon taste) with a lovely sugar crust on top. The whip cream on the sides had a strawberry garnish. Very good. Parking is either in the side lot or across the street. Good food with great service.

We have been wanting to try this place for a while. Well, we finally did and it did not disappoint! Well were promptly greeted by friendly staff and seated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is small but nicely appointed with plenty of seating for the size without feeling over crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drink menu had a lovely selection of hand crafted cocktails. I choose the Lychee martini and I must say it's the best one I have EVER had. We shared the corn riblets and edamame, both were excellent. The tuna ceviche was great and so was the Ramen. The food was hot, service was great and I really can't think of one bad thing to say about this little gem of a place. We will definitely add this to our regular list and will be back soon!

Very good lunch! The ramen was tasty, with great broth. The steak wasn't quite the right choice (next time I'll go with the shrimp). The Arroz Chaupa was also delicious, very unique flavors. Def will come back! Our server was very friendly and attentive, overall a great experience at Dos Mundos.

What I liked about this restaurant: -The interior and atmosphere of the restaurant. -Food that looks good What I would like to suggest: -Remove the "Pho" sign on the window that doesn't sell. (and Wing) -The water smelled and tasted weird. I think the cups weren't cleaned very well. As a Pho lover, I visited this restaurant because of the sign, which they don't sell. "No Pho" The food looked good, but it was a bit salty for us. The Ramen was good. The servers were very friendly.

Food was good...mine was great, wife had a little more spice than she cared for...which was odd, mine wasn't spicy at all...still really good, tasted fresh and made to order. Considering it was take out, service was still great...friendly and kept me posted when it would be ready. Place looked comfy and inviting, will definitely go back when I can sit down for a meal!

HIDDEN GEM! I was so excited to stumble upon this restaurant in downtown Simpsonville where the choices are SLIM. Fantastic authentic food, great servers and a relaxing vibe. It doesn't look like much from the outside but you won't be disappointed! I travel alone for business although this place is great for dates and groups as well. I sat at the bar, which has chargers below it just inviting you NOT to be in a hurry. Had the best chat with the staff who were super chill since I had brought a book with me to read. I had just a few samplings and they brought me some edamame to try. Literally the best I've ever had. The salad was full of flavor, the miso soup, everything was delicious. It's not often you stumble across these establishments, can't wait to go back!

If you haven't eaten at Dos Mundos, you're missing out! This small, unassuming restaurant in Simpsonville is incredible and the food is packed with flavor. I never thought Vietnamese and Peruvian food would blend so well, but this was truly one of the best meals I've had in a while. The flavors had a lot of depth and every item was clearly made with love and care. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is small, so not the best place to come with a big group, but it's definitely a place you don't want to miss.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Updating my review!! so I tried this place right when it first opened and it was good, but since then it seems they have gone through some updates and revisions with the menu and recipes! Whatever they have done with their Peruvian rice it is unbelievable! Hands-down, the best rice I've ever had! It was full of flavor and cooked perfect. My nine year-old, three year-old and one year-old absolutely devoured it. The salmon skewers with bok choy was also amazing, the salmon was cooked perfectly and the flavor on point! And don't forget to try the corn ribs... they are a definite must try, so tasty!

We recently moved to Shelbyville from Louisville and have been DYING for somewhere to satisfy our little "foodie" hearts and we finally found it- Dos Mundos impressed us that we're still thinking about the amazing meal several days later. Our server Melanie was so sweet and took great care of us, we felt like regulars even though she knew it was our first time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were busy (6pm on a Saturday) but it wasn't too loud and we were comfortable at a two person high top table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to come back.

We've passed this restaurant a few times before looking at their online details. Located in 'downtown' Simpsonville, this spot has been home to quite a few restaurants. We decided to try them out on a Sunday evening. We ordered the corn ribs appetizer, Causa Nigiri, a house salad with ginger dressing, and Mundos Ramen. All were served IG photo ready and delicious. Corn ribs are cob corn cut lengthwise, battered, fried, and topped with Kewpie mayo dizzle. Causa Nigiri is yellowtail tuna over Peruvian mashed potato puffs instead of sushi rice. The Ramen was prepared with Japanese Tan Tan broth. It has a different mouthful to regular Ramen broth. It includes a half soft boiled egg marinated in soysauce, giving big umami flavor. I liked it so much that I ordered another. They have a full bar menu on request. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant is small and nicely decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a bit loud when full up with diners, though not jarring.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can still enjoy your meal and company.

I think my cocktail was called the Tokyo Pop? Not positive but you have to get it. Gin, bubbles, sake, and a hint of lemon in a flute glass. Refreshing, a hint of sweet, a hint of lemon, and extremely drinkable. It would be too easy to throw a ton of these back. But I was demure and had one. I enjoyed the calamari--my go-to here. Crispy, with a bit of heat from pickled peppers, a bit a of sweet form a sweet glaze, and a nice herby zing from mint, herbs, and scallions. They also top the calamari with a a nice portion of greens dressed in a lemon vinaigrette, making this appetizer feel close to a light meal. I am absolutely obsessed with the ponzu mayo that comes on the side. An absolutely delightful touch. I also enjoyed the chocolate cream pot. Talk about decadent. I love that it is served with berries, because you need that tartness to balance out the richness. Fully indulgent. Bonus points: I working fireplace. (And holiday decor still up--this never bothers me.) The ambiance is always lovely, with something iconic on the TV always playing. This spot is one of my fave representation of the Louisville food scene.

We started with the ttuk kko chi which were rice cakes covered in a gochujang sauce. The cakes were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The sauce it was in was amazing, balancing the heat from the gochujang with some sweetness. Next, we got the Korean fried chicken (they were out of KFC wings). I remember the sauce being a little more red last time, but it was still good. Super crispy exterior and no excess batter so we just tasted the juicy chicken. The two entrees we got were the spicy chicken and jaeyuk. The spicy chicken was flavorful and tender. Along with the chicken, the veggies were stir fried nicely and coated in the broth. The jaeyuk was a little better with the pork having a great marinade and also being super tender. On top of the food we ordered, we were given a salad, soup, and rice which were all nice accompaniments. This was the meal I was looking forward to the most in my return and it did not disappoint. The only and I mean only thing to change is having bigger napkins on the table. Everything else is great and most importantly all the food is delicious.
